- “I don’t think there’s anything harder than telling your children that a parent is going to die.”
In May 2022, aged 32, Phil was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. Sadly, he passed away five months later.
Phil’s wife Mica has shared his story with us in support of our campaign. We Stand Up To Cancer with Mica and her family 🧡

Utterly heartbreaking. So unfair. What a lovely family.
Truelly heartbreaking story of a young couple who had everything to live for taken so brutally away. So sorry for your families loss. You showed such great dignity.
It's that alcohol obviously people never use their brain
We really are just here for a fleeting moment on this earth. RIP Phil.
We’ve been through this, lost my son in January at 32, to lung cancer, he leaves behind his wife and 2 boys, they , like you had so many hopes and dreams for the future 😞I’m so sorry

One of those cancers that often isn't found til it's too late....RIP dad
Oh I got tears in my eyes watching this. I have trouble swallowing (dysphagia) due to dysmotility and esoinophilic issues. I also have minor reflux and occassional peptic strictures. I can't imagine having esophageal cancer it's already hard having difficulty swallowing on its own. RIP Phil
Bloody hell... it's so hard. I am so sorry. Nobody should go through this.
oh gosh that was a quick diagnosis and then no time to fight
God bless you and your beautiful family. I am so sorry. His legacy lives in all of you.
Soo sorry for your loss. All the best for you & your beautiful kids.
Love & prayers & Hope. ❤
Heartbreaking 💔
Heartbreaking cancer is truly awful 😢
Cancer is fuc*ing SHIT.
No other words 💔
Mica, if you are somehow reading this then i am sending you & yours so much love ❤
Rest in peace.
My 86 year old father died of leiomyosarcoma in a 3 year spam. It went from the spermatic cord and returned massive and fast into his lungs. It was awful and heartbreaking to watch him moan while taking his last breath. Cancer research needs to bring new options for advanced cancer diagnosis aside from just palliative care. ❤
Thank you for sharing this with us Diana, we're so sorry to hear about your father and are sending you our very best wishes. If you need them, you can access our support and information services here: cruk.ink/42Gp2IP 🧡
