Frankly the last time they extended him they shouldn't have. They already didn't have a place for him. With other guys emerging, other signings, and other guys in the pipeline the reality is they didn't have a place marked for him. The bruins trading him at this point would pretty much solely be for his benefit. No ones going to give you an asset for him. You'd either be trading him for a similar problem player on another team or for future considerations (which would literally be nothing).
I dont think there is a market for Zboril, he is turning 27 in February, he is no prospect anymore. So if they get nothing back they might as well just keep him around in case everyone gets injured, you can never have enough NHL-experienced defensemen. And his cap hit while he is in the minors is 12.000$, so thats not a provlem either.
Big Bruins and hockey fan here. This is the first video of yours that I have seen. Great analysis and a very interesting take (which I agree with). One recommendation though, your voice is super monotone…so either add something visually that stimulates the audience or write your script in a way that elicits some excitement. Either way…you have a new sub
Yep. Unfortunately I think his time in NHL is done. Unless CBJ or another team gives him one last chance, I think he's probably heading overseas once his contract expires this offseason.
It's good stuff, analysis-wise and narration-wise. But man, take a look at your audio, you've got noticeable overload on low frequencies, and it sounds a bit like you're narrating from inside of a small confined space.
Always messing with my audio! Hopefully a new microphone soon but you're definitely right. Going back to more basic settings next time! Thanks for watching!
From another teams perspective (not a Bruins fan) why would teams want a guy who got waived anyway? Teams already had the chance to pick him up when he was on waivers why would teams give up any assets? The guy has a 1.1mil one-way contract. Is 26 and will be 27 at the end of the season. All while only having a total of 76 NHL games. You point to his draft year where the Bruins reached to get him in that awful draft year for the Bruins who had pick 13-14-15 and chocked on all of them except for maybe debrusk. The next picks were Barzal, Kyle Connor, and Thomas Shabot. That's what he will always be in peoples eyes, a huge mess up at the draft. I'm sorry but this guy is not worth anything and probably has negative value due to his cap hit.
Waivers doesn't clear you of a contract. And that's a consideration. You are only able to have so many NHL contracts in your team system. So sometimes that's a limiting factor. Trading away a problem prospect you have for a problem prospect another team has can on occasion be more desirable then just picking up a guy from waivers.
He should have never been drafted to begin with. Both he and Senyshyn were wastes of first round picks. Especially when you look at the talent directly behind these guys. It seems like the Bruins do better with later picks than they do with picks in the top half of the first round.

Zboril traded to Columbus for D Andrew Peeke and was immediately sent back to the AHL Cleveland Monsters.

@@ICBBRUINS agreed. which is to bad, I liked his game before he got hurt.
