Hey Sam, I'd advise a locking carabiner on that ascender. Love the channel.

Please, please, use a high quality locking carabiner. You wouldn't risk you boat using a square knot to hold an anchor line, don't risk a fall with the wrong biner. Good video as always :)

Nice progress Sam. You are an inspiration. One note: The ball or other fitting on the end of a whip antenna is called a "corona ball." One purpose of this ball is to dissipate static electricity which can damage your radio. I'm not sure if it would make that much difference on a sailboat with the other stuff that generates static electricity. Just thought I'd share the info.

For future reference, if you use a lot of the glow in the dark filament, you'll bore out the brass nozzle surprisingly fast. So if you start having bad quality prints, remember that nozzles should be considered as a consumable. Thats a hard issue to troubleshoot

      @rhett7716 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Consider adding a layer of tape around the antenna just above the windex to keep the windex from getting blown to the top of the antenna. At 30kts the windex can go to the stopper at the top of the antenna and waggle around enough to quickly fatigue the metal of the whip antenna and break it.
Sounds crazy but it happened to mine.

Sam, instead of mirrors to watch your bow movement, have you thought about mounting a bow-cam. Blue-toothed to your phone or a small monitor in the cab. or both. It would cost little money

About the end of your stay on public dock, where to?
    SailPack replacement?
    Bilge covers float?
    Latch held them down no?
Glow in the dark filament nice, start labeling what to print next.
    Edge of hatch
    WindVane ends
    Table corners.
Was thinking mohagony v. PlyWood pipe berth:
    it's the epoxy resin
    as much as cross grain...
I was reading on salvage, prize, etc and false flags during war time (started from Trafalgar and booty term caught me eye) if ask for assistance and get some may be giving ownership lien of boat, to rescuers... I'm still not sure she will stay afloat, but I'm a depressive, therefore pesimist (sp?), Opposite optimist, aka realist. Like the task board, with some nautical terminology makes more sense.
Been several decades since I sailed, and taught a little. Newer tech came along, foils, d* materials, sailpacks, solar became more affordable, etc. Transition to shop was a jump 🦘...
    Lookaround from mast head
    may have been fun,
    see neighborhood, as it were,
    few drone shots
    since moving boat with truck.

It seems to me like it would have been a lot easier to accomplish most of this list while the boat was in the back of your shop.
