  • The Ducati SuperSport S is the up-spec version of the SuperSport, with 48mm Ohlins forks v 43mm Marzocchi on the standard model, and a two way quickshifter. At under twenty grand AUD plus on-roads and a wide service interval (30,000km for valves clearances), sportsbike fun with near touring comfort makes the SuperSport S a fantastic bike for Aussie roads. We recently spent a week on one on the roads, after previously testing one at The Farm at the launch last year. Here is our Video Review, the full road test will be up on BikeReview.com.au soon, meanwhile head there to check out the launch report. Thanks for watching and remember to subscribe! Jeff Ware

      Interested to know if you still have the SuperSport S and what you hate about it

    Thanks for the excellent review. You’ve covered issues that other reviewers have avoided such as turning lock to lock, neutral accessible only when engine turned off. Might be a deal breaker for some. Despite the quirks, my God it’s a Ducati!

    I'm very fortunate to own one and mine does not present the Neutral issue. The quick shifter is a beauty and I also installed the optional panniers which add a lot of cargo space and can easily be removed. Very nice sport tourer.

      Is servicing very expensive? I'd like to get one but I don't wanna buy something that's like a BMW (plastic everywhere and unreliable). Could you confirm the build quality?

    Ok, you like the truth. I've been riding motorbikes 44 years now. I've also been a Christian since my accident. I hope your investments go well. Ride safe my friend.

    Was considering this, but picked up a 2017 Ninja 1000 instead. Very glad with the purchase.

    thanks. Good and thorough review. You hit the nail on the head at 12:24 when you said that it takes some getting used to so take it for a real test ride. It does feel weird at first because it isn't set up like other bikes. But, after that initial phase....one can properly connect with the machine and it is such a fun bike :)

    All the reviews are the S model. it would've been nice to hear a comparison of the Suspension between the standard model and the S.

    Nice review!! would u thing that trading a 2017 s1000r for this Ducati is a good move? i've been following this Ducati for a few months and it looks like an awesome bike, good power, beautiful design and looks like a lot of fun! besides, 98% of the time I only commute.

      Hey Juan, it would be hard to go wrong with the Ducati Supersport, definitely give it a try, it's quite different to the S 1000 R in a lot of ways, so see how you go.

    How does the engine heat from this bike compare to a 600cc bike? I have a CBR500R now and would like to upgrade and read some people think this bike has a lot of engine heat so curious if anyone knows how it compares with a 600cc bike.

    • @BikeReviewcomau
      @BikeReviewcomau  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey John,
      There's a lot of variance between 600cc models, but compared to a sportsbike this did seem to generate heat more quickly and it was more noticeable through gear, including through boots with heat protection along the lower calf. Hard to say if it's any worse than what you'd experience on most 600cc machines if you got stuck in traffic and couldn't filter for extended periods, but it was happening quicker and in lighter traffic conditions.
      It's probably fairer to compare the Supersport (937cc) to 1000cc machines though, and it reminded me of commuting on a S 1000 RR back in 2013, as far as heat. That would get very hot too in slow stop/start traffic.

      Probably slightly different expectations between the two bikes, but the CBR650R is a great machine too.

    Why is it all middle-aged, nerd guys or fat guys riding the Supersport? It's taking away from the cool factor of the bike.
