Ziz, you failed to mention the harvest colors things. I really forgot the exact thing, but it's something like... change the reds of the item to blue or green or something like that.
Thought for sure you'd mention how easy it is with harvest colour crafting, making items have less off colours or converting two sockets to red and green etc. had great luck with this and the colour crafts are so common.
You could also use harvest. One of the few useful crafts is coloring. "Turn a non-[color] into [color]". So you can turn a non-blue into a blue. It's how Ive been doing it but this is neat for small stuff
To color your 6-links just use the harvest recolor recipes a few times, they guarantee to turn 2 sockets of a color you *don't* want into two different ones. if necessary fill the rest with a level 4 vorici craft. Most of the time you'll hit enough white sockets to make it work at that point.
They don't guarantee specific sockets. They do guarantee at least what's specified. For example, if I use 1R 1G on a 4B 1R 1G body armour, the R/G can hit the exact same color sockets and do literally nothing. Still probably the most efficient way, I'd combine it with Vorici Calculator to see what you should chrome for to start.
Wouldn't you want to make it 2 socket when you do 2x green craft so you don't get the one that will be "deleted" when you make it 2 sockets? Or will the 2 green always be the two first ones that stays the same when you do it?
I was actually looking this up last night and I couldn't find any videos on where specifically in the mine to find the recipes so thanks this was very helpful!
It's pretty important to start by making the item 2 sockets, otherwise 2 green can roll the third socket and leave one of the first 2 non-green. It should be: Step 1) two socket Step 2) At least two X sockets Step 3) alternate between two socket and three socket, as in the video.
One thing to note, your chance of getting an off-color socket is not a flat 10%. It actually scales with the stat requirements of the item. The higher the stat requirement on the item, the larger the weighting of the color associated with that stat. This means that an item like Death's Oath, with a high strength requirement, only has about a 7.5% chance each to roll a blue or green socket while an item with a lower strength requirement would have much closer to a 10% chance or even higher than a 10% chance.
Also don't forget the Harvest crafts such as: "Reforge the colour of a non-Red socket on an item, turning it Red" "Reforge the colour of two random sockets on an item, turning them Red and Blue" They are definitelly worth keeping and can save you ton of currency and time. Harvest is worth going into every time, even if you only check for the socket crafts.
bit late to the party but as my first time playing ssf and needing a buttload of off color sockets this basically saved me, I just wish there was an easier way to learn about all the tricks like this cuz I'm sure there's a lot I still don't know haha

easiest and fastest way to get my GGGGRR on Astral Plate was through Harvest, the absolute way it uses to color your sockets is amazing and blazing fast, you can force 2 random sockets without randomizing the rest to become Green and Red or Green and Blue, and through some grind you can color an astral plate with only off colours.
I use this all the time but I never know in each particular case which is the best if going with that approach or going with the color craft bench calculated with the Vorici Chromatic Calculator, for example I needed a 3 B 2 R 1 G Belly of the Beast, so the 3 B are off colour, I started with the jewellers approach and got the 3 B in sockets number 1 2 and 3 like you did then it didn't matter so I went ahead and did 2 more R then I needed 1 G but didn't have the recipe the 6 Os recipe is a bit hard, but then I saw that I could potentially only use 150 chromatic with the 1 blue recipe using 4 chromatic each try in the bench craft instead of 350 jewelers to try get a Green which could get me a red or even a blue and have to try again, so I end up getting 6 os with normal jewelers and then the off-colours with 1 B bench craft and got it really fast. It would be cool to know which of those approach is best in each case
In Infinite Delve Event I got a pure-armour body armour with 4 blue 2 green just with chromes and 6 linked it. In that event we hadn't crafting bench. I consider that a win, no more special poe moments for me before or after that :)

I kept alternating between the bench and just single chromes, and in the end, it was a single chrome that gave me the colors. In hind sight, I shouldn't have used the bench at all.
Usually blow most of my jewellers trying to 6-link... (SSF woes) But it is a nice trick to keep in mind. I'm aware of it, but my mind usually just thinks "it's time to color this now so let's spam chromatic orbs because they're common" instead of actually thinking of the most efficient way.

Played this game for 1400hrs and i like it alot just wished they would make a colorblind mode were it just says R for red or S for strength inside the socket so i dont have to ask friends to chromatic all my items for me. It takes forever for me to see if i got the right colors i usually have gems that i pickup and see what sockets they fit into and its a really long process for every chromatic.

@@MichelPal tbh i've had them show up at different depths depending on league,but i tend to find it around 80-100 depth mostly,not entirely sure if its rng on whether it always shows up but it has only ever shown up at that node for me.
Ziz, shouldn't you have done 2 sockets -> 2 green sockets? The way you did it, if one of the greens ends up being in the last socket slot, you're pretty much bricked it...
Question about Vorici: If i have a 6L Body Armour... And i put it into a rank3 Vorici... does it reforge the links as well or does it only randomly set 1-3 sockets to white? And also, can i repeat this process on the same chest piece until i possibly have all 6 white sockets? is this how people get 6 w sockets on a chest piece or are they just insanely lucky with rank 4 voricis/corruption chambers?
links are not removed, vorici can be applied only to non white non corrupt non mirrored items. 6w sockets if they are not corrupted are made by vorici + harvest. First vorici to 3+ w sockets (if t3 it is 3, if t4, you may try your luck to 6w, but that may be expensive). if not 6w, then go to harvest and look for socket to white and pray for random. In previous league, there was beastcraft, which allowed to copy 6wl chests like a charm, now the amount of such items is much rare.
yeah coloring stuff even with my simpler harvest craftrs was rough and yet yoloing 1 more "atleast 2 reds" one was so so damn lucky LUL on my 6 socket body that i didnt need 6L i managed to hit the perfect amount of off colors and orientations. was kinda wounderful. 3 red 2 blue 1 green on carcass jack in the perfect 4l 2l order. EZ game. also thanks for even more tips, its going to be nuts trying to upgrade my gear when i get around to it
biggest thing for me after i get my atlas done is betray self found voricii white socketing always love it. deffinitly gonna use it once i get lucky jackpot and can do a 9ex bow upgrade, makes it so much more qol just grabbing anything. too bad im just hard scuffing my board for quick rewards this time around for my first mastermind cause i know ill die to katarina with like 1 mistake lel
Use this trick to get your off-colours more easily!
I Have a Six Linked Astral Plate and need 2-2-2 and i use 1G-1B from Bench and then use a Harvest Random Green and Blue to chrome the other two
vorici gives you 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3 white sockets, you don't get guaranteed 2 or 3 with higher level.
the 2nd try in the intro is actually what you wanted and you "rolled" over it :D

If you use crafts like "two-green sockets" It will always take the "first two" sockets from the top that always stay the same.

Harvest is quite good for coloring sockets. I needed a 5 off-colour Astral Plate and I did it for 40 chaos with harvest (map device cost mostly).

Usually I have a lot of chromes by the time I need them because my brain is used to picking up every rgb link. Same with superiors.

Don't forget harvest, it might be more time consuming ..but it's a lot more deterministic. Especially safe for 6 links.
at the moment u can use harvest for off-colours very easy too. i got 3 death oath full off colour and other stuff so far

How do I get a 5-link recipe? It sais a specific area in Delve but when I was in there, no recipe could be found. Is it even then RNG?

It doesn't change links, only colours. You can only use Vorici on item that does not have white sockets. So yes, ppl with 6W sockets are just lucky :)

Spent 390 jewellers getting 3 reds on a pair of gripped gloves. Painful to sit there and do this but effective

non-colour to colour is the easiest way to get 6 off colours 100% (if ur on trade ofc), made my wildwrap 5r1b superfast thx to that
