How can anyone thumb down this video? This dude was in the band that recorded the song. Morons. Great lesson Bobby. Thank you.
because he didn't post the full fucking lesson and wants people to pay him to learn how to play Chuck's music
Same shock .... how can you pretend a guy in the band doesn’t play it correctly ??????? WTF !!!
@@Boogaloogian well learn it by ear then cry baby. Also it's not solely chucks music. Bobby was in the band and contributed to the music.
@@Boogaloogian God forbid musicians should be paid for their work.
A tip : watch series at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies these days.
Bobby's tone is what dreams are made of. Long live DEATH!
Bobby is highly underrated.
Finally a cool lesson that covers Chuck's playing!! Thanks very much...!!
some of the best guitar solos i have heard from this album
Thanx Bobby! Respect from Italy!!! R.I.P. Chuck
That would be awesome to have Bobby as a guitar teacher lol basically I would want to know every little thing he did with Death guitar wise and would ask him Alot about Chuck's style of playing too I'm a huge fan of both and Bobby Koelble is very underrated I love his Symbolic solo!!
I think Death is more fortunate to have had you on those albums man 🤘😎🤘 there is no life without Death!
Thanks for breaking down some of the Chuck theory! Great lesson.
Thanks for the tutorial. Chuck is my favourite guitarist ever. Keep up the good work!
It's your solo on Zero Tolerance Bobby that is the shiniest moment on that album. I'd love a walkthrough and mainly any crazy theory concepts behind it
my fav Death Guitarist
Thank you so much I had a bit of trouble learning the solo, but now I've got it. RIP Chuck

Without Context what would we do? We would be forced to look at ourselves emerged in lost time
@@ButtahDawgMcDouble Dude.....thank you...jajaja I didn't expected when I saw an answer I was thinking that!!. Gold joke.
Great lesson! RIP Chuck ❤️
Your playing was mesmerizing on that album! I loved all your solos! Too bad Chuck didn't retain you for "The Sound of Perserverance". You woulda killed on that album as well! Thanks for posting!! Cheers, Bobby!
Well chuck disbanded death after symbolic to start control denied, record label asked him for one more album and use his control denied lineup and the songs they wrote for Sound of Perseverance. Im sure if chuck didnt decide to disband in 96’ then Bobby would have still been around
@@Boogaloogian Shannon Hamm, Scott Clendenin and Richard Christy were Control Denied members before they made TSOP. Many songs from that record were originally made for Control Denied, such as Spirit Crusher, Story to Tell and A Moment Of Clarity. Chuck denied these rumors at the time, probably because the label was putting pressure on him to promote the album. But there are demos of them songs where Chuck sings them in a clean vocal style, which was his original plan.
@@lvthngaming6278 nah, chuck basically rented musicians following spiritual healing
this is a goldmine holy shit
JunkieRush, The Absinthe Trio...
he also did small Death tribute/reunion couple of years ago, i think it's available on DVD. Look it up.
cheers
Man, sadly you dont show on this vídeo, I learned by tabs, I love your little solo in the almost end of song, Very Very well composed and easy for a bad guitar player like me can play It. Youre a legend.
Well, this is a great lesson. It caused me to go to the website and subscribe yesterday, and so far I'm really glad I did.
We need to know how did he get that sick tone !
if you have a line 6 software I think I can help you out, I built a tone that I believe sounds quite decent
jus buy any marshall fool
Chuck used a Marshall Valvestate 8100 on everything after Individual Thought Patterns I think
Symbolic album one of the best
4:29 E harmonic minor arpeggio (minor 3th with a major 7th)
perezjln ok nerd
It's a minor major seventh arpeggio. You don't arpeggiate scales, but rather chords. Bobby knows his shit
BOBBY!!!!!!!!🤘🏻
fuck ya. its so damn awesome. it gives me that christmas feeling.
great lesson....thx alot
That's actually really interesting that Chuck was more of just go off of feel type of player self taught compare to someone who may know all the names of each chord progression (Which I'm more like Chuck) in that I've only played and learned guitar by ear with a right handed guitar turned upside down for a lefty to play it like myself and I can play songs from what I've either learned by ear or by guitar lessons videos like this which teach me.....and I'm 31yrs old now I've been playing since I was 7yrs old and I STILL can't even tell you hardly all the guitar strings letter when their open strings lmao but I can play practically any Metallica song and about everything off Death's first 3 albums that I recently just learned these past few months (But not solos) because of me having a strat body type right handed guitar the lower horn is on the opposite side of where I need it to make it easier for me to get higher up on the frets to play solos....so unfortunately I haven't gotten Alot of practice on soloing or even doing covers of my favorite bands solos for some reason it's just hard for me to memorize all the notes and to play them in such fast secession that it sounds seamless when playing along to a solo I like, and also my string retainer is shit....so I can't hardly even bend my higher strings because they literally feel like they're just going to snap which sucks!! But anyways I'm curious how did Chuck learn to solo like he does.....and after listening to Alot of his solos throughout the years on the different albums and I notice there's this certain kind of solo Chuck loved to use like this certain box of frets and he would do that rapid speed picking I dunno it's hard to explain it but if your a big fan like I am and play guitar you know exactly what I'm talking about Chuck especially used that go to solo in parts of his solo all throughout like Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy but he even would play little similar figures on later albums too like off the top of my head like the song "Pull The Plug" you can definitely hear what I'm talking about on Chuck's solo on that track I wish I could atleast learn that technique he seemed to like to use often in parts of his solos
Yeah man, same i play for 8 years and know basically no theory. Jam in the same scale all the time probably but it sounds good and rest doesn't matter. Chuck definitely liked a pattern in his solos, the fast part, i can recognize it in every album
He might not have known what it was called but he used the harmonic minor on nearly every solo other than a few
Man I wish we had this stuff when I was younger. I am old and my guitar playing days are behind me. I used to love playing Death so much. I taught myself all of Leprosy, Spiritual Healing and most of Human. Wish I would have gotten to see you guys here in Vancouver. I went to a fundraiser years ago that Gene held to raise money for Chucks cancer. My band was suppost to play that but we weren't ready to play the show so we passed it up. But we were still there to support Chuck.
You taught yourself human thats mental. I can play all of Chucks leads by just looking at the tabs once. But the rhythm on Human and even ITP blow me away
@@lt8400 You are a deadly player man! Sadly I didn't keep up my chops due to injuries.. Love watching you and your mates play. I live through dudes like you! Shred!
Priceless! Anybody knows the name of that Ibanez model?
Ibanez Prestige
I wish I knew exactly the correct terms for everything I can play lol it's weird I know how to play songs I cover either by ear or guitar lesson videos but I'm totally oblivious to the actual scales names notes or chords pretty much I can't read sheet music at all music comes naturally to me but I feel like learning all the technical stuff seems too difficult for me I just play what I like but I would love to know what type of scale does Chuck usually use when playing his solos especially on his earlier albums?
And I find it hard to believe Chuck could come up with all the stuff he played with riffs and solos yet he doesn't know any of the technical stuff either.....I've been playing since I was 7yrs old ever since Christmas of 1997' and I'm now 31yrs old but I STILL can't even come close to coming up even some of the cool riffs he came up with let alone his badass solos that's just crazy to me
Fucking amazing man
Dude i had no idea you had a channel
EmMaj7
❤
Where can i get such a guitar holder?
The inverted chords its for the second riff, not in the first, like he shows here! just listen to the original song in the album and watch this video after doing that, you will notice the diference.
tagima you realize Bobby was the other guitarist in the band right?
I want that toan
Las mejores puas son las hechas con tapa de mantequilla you hear me Bobby
Ok first step, get ahold of a floating guitar, they're famous for their great sustain:-7
Gator grip picks 🤘
schuldiner did not die. the reaper made the mistake that he died so chuck killed the reaper and stole his job
the chorus harmonic xd
Hot
Too many frets for Bobby
Please sleep sometimes
fuck where do i shred
Anyone know what other bands or projects Bobby Koelble has done?
Abysmal Dawn - Obsolescence
first part is totally wrong !!!
Bobby was one of the guitarist in this album along with Chuck. We would like to think what he played is pretty accurate:).
tagima Can't tell if serious or just a troll...
tagima Idiot.
+tagima LOL idiot!
+tagima hilarious comment
