@@harrywilliams5523 Indeed. It's so annoying. There is no quicker way to prove one's ignorance about sports history than using words like those. It's also classist because it mocks them for not becoming rich from the game.
You don't get to BOTH be the Most Popular franchise in the sport AND be underrated At the Same Time. You mileinal / Gen Z kids think it's the highest praise you can give something is to call it underrated... so you'll take something that is Well Praised and well know and call it underrated. Even though it's one of the .most recognizable franchise in sports.
This why you can’t comp across eras Every era has rules that be different and game be different so comp eras and Mikan the First Pro Star. His story about how reached out to young Bill Russell set the precedent of stars mentoring
You can comp different eras but you always have to remember each generation builds upon the preceding generation. Mikan set the standard in the games infancy. The Wilt and Russell set the next set of standards. Cousy basically created the PG position as it was played until recently. Pete Maravic was arguably the first shooting guard scoring machine, then George Gervin and David Thompson. There were are a few exclamation points tho, and Mikan was the first.
Most underrated dynasty in sports history.
Some ppl underrate them bcuz they played against "plumbers"
@harrywilliams5523 Every player in the league was a former college basketball player. I don't think these players were scouted from fire stations.
@@dashauncarney9651 yeah I agree these ppl who comment plumber stuff didn't do they're research

Mikan is a pioneer you have to respect him.
Pre-1956 BAA/NBA is not very often discussed. But the first decade of the league was as much interesting as the next decades.
Mikan was a beast
Am I the only one who seen that dude dunk it
Yeah they were not five two back then of course
Dunk what?
@@TheBatugan77how did you not see that dunk 😂
The dunk 😳

Funny how they called it "a lone wolf game" as a compliment.
I actually think they meant it as a criticism
Bro George McCain died. I miss him.
Fastbreak Dunk !😮
MINNEAPOLIS Lakers
And got beated by the Harlem globetrotter
There’s no way he would be a factor in todays era in his prime
with all the soft ass bigs in today's NBA Mikan would whoop their fat asses!
Kinda disagree with that statement.
Obviously he wouldn’t todays game has evolved there are moves now that weren’t existed back then that’s common sense
Like what? Just about every dribble and post move was in the sport by at least the 60s. Hell, Mikan was a pioneer in using some of them.
He definitely wouldn’t be as good ‘em but not even being a factor is insane
