+Spoken Gaming TV Agreed. Personally I think the Dr. J dunk on Michael Cooper is the most iconic dunk ever, but that Tom Chambers dunk is also iconic. Considering where Chambers took off from, then to almost have his KNEES at 6'5 Mark Jackson's HEAD is crazy. Then to top it off, Chambers looked like he rose even higher right before he dunked it. VERY impressive. I don't think some ppl realize HOW good Chambers was in his prime: over 27 PPG, over 8 RPG, very good shooter...and could dunk it on almost anyone.
There’s just something so visually appealing about Dr. J’s dunk over Michael Cooper. It’s the perfect in-game dunk and the greatest I’ve ever seen. Should be no. 1 forever.
Amen. Some dunks are an amazing triumph over adversity, like a soldier slogging through rough terrain and enemy fire to capture a position against all odds. And then there are dunks that are like ballet, just oozing style and grace, making you think that gravity, and normal body mechanics, do not apply to the dunker.
@@Kobe-zq9kx Bro how do you not realize it's impossible to make a top ten dunk list without leaving many great dunks out because there are easily 50 or more dunks that could be considered. You are always going to leave a ton out. All the dunks on this list are sick as fuck.
I hope you know the old nba courts weren't as stable and had real glass in the finish. It would only take a quick powerful dunk to break them. Lebron, KD, and Blake griffin have all broken the backboard glass while being tested on the old courts. They tried to attempt to break the new force withstanding glass (which even a bus falling onto it couldn't break it) and did not succeed. Shaq breaking the glass is not much a milestone really.
Doc rock the cradle in the NBA Finals vs. Lakers is #1 IMHO. They also skipped his facial on Kareem as well. You could also argue Daryl Dawkins breaking backboards is at very least honorable mention. No Dominique Wilkins? Really? This generation missed some of the best NBA action of all time, not the football without pads and constant foul shots of today. Fast breaks were the reason I watched the highlights every night. Don't get me wrong, there are some incredible players today, just not the same as the 80's and 90's type of game.
Detroit Pistons Bad Boys would make so many current players cry. Couldn't agree more with your other comments too. Dominique Wilkins, Clyde Drexler, Daryl Dawkins ... no dunk list is complete without them.

+NICKHAM16 i thought this was a video on the best dunks. you're naming dunks that might be more iconic to the game of basketball but aren't necessarily the best dunks ever performed. i think this video focuses more on overall difficulty and creativeness of the dunk and not the game defining and iconic rivalry shaping ones you mentioned above
This list should have been reversed. The degree of difficulty in Michael Jordan's dunk at #10 is Ridiculous!. First of all it was not a fast-break, New York had their half-court defense set (New York had one of the toughest defenses back then). Second Jordan had to shake two defenders off on a very tight baseline. And third after he shook those defenders he had to elevate over the 7 foot Patrick Ewing who was waiting for him, and dunk it. Level of difficulty = 1000. And at #9 with Dr J, almost every dunk he did has been copied, because before the ABA and NBA merged in 76, there were mostly boring dunks and people would knock you on the ground for trying to dunk unless you were big like Wilt Chamberlain. The emotional significance of that dunk he had over Michael Cooper cannot be measured. People in the audience were about to cry because they had heard about Dr. J for so long but the ABA never televised any games. So to see him cuff it and fly through the air and jam it like that was a spectacle. Ok I'm going to shutup now... I'm old.

Two, while it is impressive and few can do it, it wasn't in a game-time situation. It was thought out ahead of time. He could get a running start, get his stride and feet work adjusted for the maximum amount of momentum and forward drive to do so. If he had done that in a game, there would never be a dunk that could rank above it ever. You are right about one thing. #1 did suck. What idiot ranked these?
That Chambers dunk does deserve to be there. it's ridiculous. I don't know if they are top 10 but there was a J.Howard - C.Webb off the back board dunk and almost all of Latrell Sprewell's dunks had funk for days.
Who made this List Tom Chambers? Where is that dunk that John Starks did on what seemed like the WHOLE bulls team. How about Kevin Johnson going baseline and just rising on I think it was Houston.
micah b I think there is something to be said for meaningful dunks. A guy can go crazy up 20 in game 30. But in the playoffs with a lot on the line , that dunk by Starks was crazy, remember he went to his left hand.
micah b A lot of people like that Pippen dunk I am not one of them. I always though Pippen a punk, it is amazing that crazy dunk from Doc, on Cooper and the Lakers still shows up in these lists.
2 best dunks I ever saw: 1) Dominique Wilkens driving center of the lane heavy traffic must've been a double pump to his chest with the ball and monster slam. Crowd...STUNNED!!!!! 2) Dan Majerle(6-6) goes over Minute Bol (7-7)
#1 Vince Carter in the Olympics over Yao Ming, is just unreal :) don't believe me watch the clip LOL greatest dunk in basketball history by far ... Fact
shouldve been #10. i knew i'd be on the list, its an awesome old school classic dunk. but #1? bball playa pleeeeeease. and how in the world is pippen over ewing not in the top ten, let alone top 5 or even 3? given the nature of the play, the magnitude of the playoff game, and the momentum shift of the game, it was sick
I'm just glad the Jordan dunk is in this list. May not be the most explosive but he went around 2 men for crying out loud, went up after Ewing and landed after him, SICK!!!!
@@RG-ct6qz for the moment (playoffs), unexpectedness, ferocity, skill (MJ walked a tightrope to get it!) and WHO it's on, there aren't many I'd put ahead of it. It's the one of the few on the list that's not : - a full 1/4 - 1/2 court run up, or - alley-oop/assisted, or - on someone equal height or shorter On top of that, it's the only one - besides Vince's - where the opponent is in a good position to block it...and he's chest to chest. I understand if, for you, it's not, but it'll always be in my Top 10
Scott Clark I 200% agree with the wade on Varejoa funk not on the list. everything about that funk was crazy. LeBron misses dunk Wade coast to coast. even the step over after dunking it. The crowd. sick moment
He most certainly did. A dunk is simply defined as a shot where the player takes the entirety of the ball above the rim, and the ball moves downward for the duration of the shot. Blake's shot is clearly moving downward for the duration. A "slam dunk" simply adds the word "forcefully" in front of downward. Typically a dunker makes contact with the rim, but it is a growing trend not to. DeAndre Jordan does it all the time, throwing it down with two hands but pulling his hands to his hips really fast without contacting the rim. Besides, Blake does contact the rim, but Perkins pushes him backwards a bit so the contact is light. The downward force, however, is awesome, hence the Mozgov moment.
MastaKneeGrow323 Those guys are are mostly known for their offensive moments, ergo the ones that make the highlight reels. That's the only thing the kids, who didn't watch the games when they happened, see. While Pip was devastating on offense, his main strength lied in his defensive abilities. The stuff that's less flashy goes unseen by the modern generation.
MastaKneeGrow323 You're misconstruing what I said. If I alluded to Scottie's Ewing dunk lacking flash, it was unintentional. I was saying that defense is typically less flashy, and consequently, isn't as conducive to highlight reels as offense is. I was saying that though Scottie had considerable offensive capabilities, he's mostly known for his defensive game. The reverse goes for Jordan. And I could give you a bunch of links that showcase how devastating Pip's offense could be.
Dr J's dunk was so good they had to name it, "Rock The Baby". He was so smooth, and gently held 'the baby' in one hand. Did anyone elses dunk get named? Nope.
these dunks are all amazing but i dont think they should be put in order :L if there was then id say itll be vince carters dunk over the 7 footer in the olympics then everything else
***** Nah, his eyes hardly reached the rim's level, but he seemed able to jump for longer if required and still dunk. Saying that, it is an ordinary dunk that should not be even in the Top50. The rest of the list is quite spectacular.
Newton Plays Well he jumped from closer to the FT line than the rim, and his eyes were still at rim level when he got there. It shouldn't be #1 but it's easily top 10 and better than a couple of other of these in the list.
Aseline KerRo zactly... White boys can't even jump. He got most of his lift by kneeling on the defender. fohwtbs Might as well include half time mascot trampoline dunks then.
Anky Liu Why is that weird? He was a quality player - his career stats are on par with James Worthy - and was always a good leaper. That dunk shouldn't have been #1, but he jammed on a lot of people in his day (in the 80s, when the league talent pool was arguably at its highest too).
paul blake The one of Shaq's where he went down the middle of the lane on a fast break and went soaring with one hand outstretched could definitely be on this one.
No Pippen dunkin on Ewing?

That Chambers dunk does deserve to be there. it's ridiculous.
I don't know if they are top 10 but there was a J.Howard - C.Webb off the back board dunk and almost all of Latrell Sprewell's dunks had funk for days.
Who made this List Tom Chambers? Where is that dunk that John Starks did on what seemed like the WHOLE bulls team. How about Kevin Johnson going baseline and just rising on I think it was Houston.
Yep it was on hakeem. Then there's no pippen dunking on Ewing.
micah b I think there is something to be said for meaningful dunks.
That's because Doc's rock the cradle dunk was a majestic windmill unleashed like a thunderclap on Coop's head.
Vincent Jacobs Yes it most certainly was majestic and in the finals too. Great dunk, Cooper could have gotten a hand broke.
Crazy dunk shown as your #1 pick. That dudes knee caps were in the defenders face. Unreal height when banging up against a player. Thanks for sharing.
2 best dunks I ever saw:
1) Dominique Wilkens driving center of the lane heavy traffic must've been a double pump to his chest with the ball and monster slam. Crowd...STUNNED!!!!!
2) Dan Majerle(6-6) goes over Minute Bol (7-7)
That Dominique dunk is INCREDIBLE!
#1 Vince Carter in the Olympics over Yao Ming, is just unreal :) don't believe me watch the clip LOL greatest dunk in basketball history by far ... Fact
@@IMINTHEMOMENTRUdo you mean the one over fred weiss? The 7 footer?
John Starks driving the baseline for that left handed dunk vs. the Bulls in the playoffs belongs on this list.
I would say Pippen over Ewing is best dunk ever, next Wade over Varejao
Next is Kobe over the 2 Brooklyn
Nheo Abriol Your opinion, bruh
And kobe bryant's behind the back reverse dunk vs nuggets
Doole 031 Didn't Jordan Dunk Over Ewing As Well Cause I'm Pretty Sure Michael Did Dunk On Patrick
Sonic The Hedgehog Yeah, one of the best plays ever.
Jordan over Ewing
Jordan over Alonzo
Jordan over everybody
Pippen over Ewing
Number one should be in the top 200 dunks list not top 10
Exactly. Maybe top 250
shouldve been #10. i knew i'd be on the list, its an awesome old school classic dunk. but #1? bball playa pleeeeeease.
and how in the world is pippen over ewing not in the top ten, let alone top 5 or even 3? given the nature of the play, the magnitude of the playoff game, and the momentum shift of the game, it was sick
Agree, Pippen's slam on Ewing was at least a top five
I say Dominique was the best in game, in traffic dunker of all time. He did it consistently!
i love seeing the audience react. everyone loves a good ol dunk
The start, when the commentary starts, it sounds like rap, with the beat and he is in sync and everything.
Sean Kemp with the Euro Step before there was the Euro Step.
Sean Kemp could have been in all 10 best NBA dunks.
Dr J had the best dunk ever.
John Starks against the Bulls should be on this list
No scottie pippen on ewing? That dunk is nice as hell.
There was a marvelous long range dunk that Clyde Drexler did back then, which then Jordan replicated. Without those this list is incomplete.
Nbr 1 dunk was some ass
kenny swag it's wanna the most iconic dunks in history it might not be no 1 worthy but it was an amazing dunk
only thing amazing about the dunk being listed at number one is that the dunk was actually listed at number 1
FiteMe Podcast lol😂
I'm just glad the Jordan dunk is in this list. May not be the most explosive but he went around 2 men for crying out loud, went up after Ewing and landed after him, SICK!!!!
The obligatory MJ dunk to keep the legend alive. No Dominique. Thank God they had Shawn Kemp.
@@RG-ct6qz That MJ dunk HAS to be on any Top 10 list....that being said, Nique's dunk on the whole Bucks team should be as well!
@@twilitezn Not top 10.
@@RG-ct6qz for the moment (playoffs), unexpectedness, ferocity, skill (MJ walked a tightrope to get it!) and WHO it's on, there aren't many I'd put ahead of it.
It's the one of the few on the list that's not :
- a full 1/4 - 1/2 court run up, or
- alley-oop/assisted, or
- on someone equal height or shorter
On top of that, it's the only one - besides Vince's - where the opponent is in a good position to block it...and he's chest to chest.
I understand if, for you, it's not, but it'll always be in my Top 10
Also, the fact that DRose on Dragic and BDiddy on Kirilenko aren't on here is criminal : they were both Soul Stealers.
NO FUCK WAY THAT'S #1
Wouldn't #1 be an offensive foul if the guy in blue fell down?
IKR how was Kobe on Dwight or wade on varejao not on this list
Scott Clark I 200% agree with the wade on Varejoa funk not on the list. everything about that funk was crazy. LeBron misses dunk Wade coast to coast. even the step over after dunking it. The crowd. sick moment
CHECK OUT MY VID U WILL LIKE ALL THE DUBKS AND ESPECIALLY THE MUSIC
sei una cacca
1:40 CHRIS MULLIN SAYS “IM GETTING OUT OF HERE” HAHAHAHA XXXDDDDD
Blake griffin didn't dunk.
More like a throw
+KingPhil GAME sorry I offended your ginger gf.
zane spang Lmao im not gay bro ask your mom
+KingPhil GAME Ya. She said you're gay.
The height on that Gerald Green dunk; absolutely unreal. His mouth is, literally, at the rim.
I disagree on number 1# I think the cradle dunk was better
No carter dunking over national team center?
+Jiuling Li that wasn't a nba game
+Breeze Christian uh uh
French national team Frédérick weiss crazy one u right
how is scottie pippen on ewing not on here! whoever made this is prolly 15 years old
+daniel james Took the words right out of my mouth
Right
+daniel james Fa Sho!
Shawn kemp!
I loved it!
And his reaction after the dunk made me laugh
the worst #1 ranked dunk ever. and now i feel sorry abt myself for having watched this video!!!!
agreed
I'm mad af
Faaacts
You should feel sorry about the fact that you can't either can't take the time to (or don't know how to) spell "about".
Says the guy who's screen name is in some eastern European alphabet.
Shawn Kemp's dunk should be no.1
Subzero1579 no vince carters 7 footer one should be #1
You mean the one from the Olympics? This is only the NBA, but that dunk is sick.
απαράδεκτοι
That was an epic dunk from Shawn Kemp but I feel the alley-oop set up by Gary Payton was far more epic... now that was a #1 contender.
Subzero1579 he traveled
Shawn Kemp swag 🔥
Dr J's dunk was so good they had to name it, "Rock The Baby". He was so smooth, and gently held 'the baby' in one hand. Did anyone elses dunk get named? Nope.
these dunks are all amazing but i dont think they should be put in order :L if there was then id say itll be vince carters dunk over the 7 footer in the olympics then everything else
Thats one of my favourites bro but this is the top 10 nba dunks. The olympics is a whole different league.
House Of Hoops what about LBJ jumping over some one while playing with Miami, or one of Julius Erving's in game ft line dunks?
Donovan Medley Yo, I've got about 20 sick dunks that I have to narrow down to just 10, I'm sorry if I missed a few out, its just my opinion
Donovan Medley he jumped over a dude who wasn't even 6 ft. if anything VC should've been on here for jumping over somebody
Actually, you could have changed the title to Top NBA Dunks of All Time, because that Vince Carter Olympic dunk is the best in all of basketball.
that shawn kemp dunk tho
Yeah, he dunked like an animal. Whatta power!
what was so special about number 1?
***** Nah, his eyes hardly reached the rim's level, but he seemed able to jump for longer if required and still dunk. Saying that, it is an ordinary dunk that should not be even in the Top50. The rest of the list is quite spectacular.
Newton Plays Well he jumped from closer to the FT line than the rim, and his eyes were still at rim level when he got there. It shouldn't be #1 but it's easily top 10 and better than a couple of other of these in the list.
He's white
TheRadFactor Agreed.
Newton Plays Maybe he shouldn't be on the first place, but has a place for certain in the top 10 to counter the rumours, that white man can't jump.
I like how Dr. J's wasn't about crass intimidation but rather style and purpose!
Tom Chambers’ flight time was so underrated. That joker could float.
What about drose on dragic?
I think Dwyane Wade's dunk on Varejao should be on here
Shawn Kemp was in his prime a vicious, graceful, powerful panther
You're trolling with that number 1 dunk...
As you sow, so shall you reap cause the shit suck!
Aseline KerRo
zactly... White boys can't even jump. He got most of his lift by kneeling on the defender. fohwtbs Might as well include half time mascot trampoline dunks then.
period
lil salty it was a white boy dunking? Lol I agree though it was a weak #1
@@Asyousowsoooshallyoureap th-cam.com/video/1dTEXh4lxfA/w-d-xo.html
You sure about that lol
Shawn Kemp is a beast
Michael Jordan, Shawn Kemp, I miss you!
Great vid guys!!!
Can anyone tell me the name of the song used in the video please?
Jagpal Singh I want to know too
No John Starks dunk against Chicago Bulls !??
You took the words right out of my mouth.
Vince Carter at the 2000 Olympic games.
Read the title dumbass 🙄
Its not NBA but I agree. Best dunk ever, BY FAR
How in the world is Pippen over Ewing not on this list?
thank you! or Terrance Ross over Faried, Johnson over Drummond...
Serious for the number one ? great video by the way
If nr 1 aint a carter dunk it aint a nr 1 then
facts!!
Carter is the best ever. Nobody comes after him.☺ He set the bar too high.
4years later still facts
The third dunk is by far better than the second and especially the first. .
You mean the one where he did the Statue of Liberty pose and then stuck the 360 landing? Yeah that was definitely better than #1 on this list.
True
who was that on number 3?
+Vanila Shake gerald wallace
+raiders10003 i thought tmac
Tom Chambers hit the best? Really?
Exactly dafuq?
Just because he did a dunk don't mean he was the best
Anky Liu Why is that weird? He was a quality player - his career stats are on par with James Worthy - and was always a good leaper. That dunk shouldn't have been #1, but he jammed on a lot of people in his day (in the 80s, when the league talent pool was arguably at its highest too).
Statalyzer If you go by what you say then Shaq should easily be on the list. It's top 10 dunks.. not top 10 dunkers
paul blake The one of Shaq's where he went down the middle of the lane on a fast break and went soaring with one hand outstretched could definitely be on this one.
That Kemp dunk was SICK!!!
NO WADE ON Anderson Varejao
really? no vince carter over a 7 foot guy?wtf
The Olympic Tbagging as its known
digbick hohoho That's Olympics not NBA
Invincible Shaolin, so what still better than all of these.
sharp gamez
I don't think you understand, its not from the NBA
This wasn't in the NBA you dumb fuck
#1 dunk? Are you fucking kidding, I was expecting a subtitle to pop up on the screen after that dunk that would have read just kidding.
June 2020 and we need sports back. Now.
