    Such a pretty electrical system!!! I think you should put a blue LED light strip in that room that would come on automatically when the door is opened, and officially call it the blue room! (Love the detail!)

    Taking a lead from Ty's hilarious sense of humor, you could always call it the Code Blue Room. If anything goes wrong, you know that Ty would have a heart attack!
    Great video and superb cable management!!!

    Ty is very impressive again: analyzing the Yanmars, analyzing the power drive unit oxidation from stray current in the canal, building state the art cabinets for the storage room, and now installing the electrical in a 50 foot catamaran. Way to go!

    How far along are you on replacing all the wiring throughout the boat? That seems like an epic undertaking. Looking at the schematics for a smaller Leopard 40, just wiring up one device shows multiple accessories along the wiring path.

    @georgecarney3083 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Ty a great video. I just want to make an investigation regarding the heat shrink onto the cables. one has to be careful when doing this. As heat is not good for electrical cables, so the least amount of heat is required, especially for cable that has Polyethylene style insulation. Polyethylene runs under heat and will shrink back and change the electrical characteristics of the cable if they are over heated. Heating to do the shrinking needs to be done quickly and efficiently, excessive heat is not to be used. An electric heat gun is the best way to go, as the heat is better controlled and works faster, compared to a flame heat torch.

    When you installed the battery switch from the 12V bank,, how much wire did you cut out of the run to ensure the resistance remained equal in both the positive and negative runs?

    • @SailingDauntless

      I didn’t cut off any additional. I simply cut where the switch was installed and secured the rest out of the way.
