Yep, their kiss is a sweet moment while at the same time feeling unearned. I think that defines the majority of Ross and Rachel's rollercoaster relationship.
I know I'm very late to this, but it is actually earned. Earlier in the coffeehouse Rachel is telling Ross that whenever anything between them happens, she always gets hurt. But she doesn't know about all the times Ross has been hurt because he'll never tell her about that himself, since he's more closed off about stuff like that. So when Rachel actually sees him getting hurt even way back then, she realises it's not how she thought at all and that Ross probably has been hurt way more than her over all those years she didn't even know he was interested in her.
Ross is in college during the video, and mentions working on his music, to which Chandler jokes "work on your music?" Chandler was in Ross' band in college.
Everybody loves watching Friends again and again. You made a career out of it and I am torn between envy and respect ;) I hope there will be many more episodes :)
I can't believe you didn't even mention, let alone take sins off for, the "so how many cameras are on you?" joke. I know it's coming, and I laugh just as hard every time I hear it. From Monica's and Rachel's reactions, it looked like Chandler ad-libbed that joke and they weren't expecting it.
This is why I like K-Drama. It's less "will they or won't they" & more "when will they". I just finished What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? And there was never any doubt that Kim Mi-so & Lee Young-joon were going down the aisle by the end of the series, the fun was watching them stumble through their courtship.
Oh, come on, she is realizing that he has always been "there for [her]". It's straight out of the theme song! Maybe it doesn't make sense realistically, but it totally makes sense in the context of the show.
I've never heard or seen anything that states that Ross should be a good teacher, just interested in evolution and dinosaurs. On that note, I've had teachers that were great in their field, but terrible at teaching. Besides, Ross still works at the museum.
@@aimun5255 In the US the term professor is used for lower ranks as well, compared to other countries in which only one rank is considered professor. Besides, you only need to be good in your field to attain the rank of professor/get tenure, not necessarily good at teaching.
EVERY time I see this episode, after Rachel sees the video and starts stalking Ross across the room, I always interject the Jaws theme, "dun-dun. dun dun. dun-dun dun-dun dundle-AH!", I was REALLY expecting that as an audio outtake, LOL! I would also accept the shower scene from Porky's "She's going for it... Going for it... SHE'S GOT IT!"
Do ‘Once more with feeling’ or ‘the body’ from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. they are ICONIC episodes that have been critically acclaimed and affected television for ever.
Calling the sin counter "Sinny" and making it seem like it's an independent entity, gives it just the right amount of aborableness that I can't help picturing it as a small robot. Well played TVSins. 4 sins removed. *GNID GNID GNID GNID*
Although lobsters erroneously were depicted as mating for life in this episode, it can not be debated that Sinny really struggled to claw those ill-gotten sins back for the sudden change of heart and unearned kiss that Rachel gave Ross after Ross' valiant effort to rescue Rachel from going dateless to her prom.
0:52 I always though that she chose Chandler because he was a less obvious choice. Ross being Monica's brother and Rachel her roommate, they have a more obvious relationship with Monica, whereas Chandler Bing could just be anyone. that way the fraud is less obvious
Okay im gonna have to disagree with the last bit about the kiss cause see it was so much that she wanted nothing to do with him but that she was sick of being the one who got crushed whenever something went wrong so she decided she was done with the relationship. So seeing this video made her realize that ross had been the one getting crushed for years before she was even remotely interested in him and that combined with the fact that it was an inherently sweet thing for him to do as a kid made her changer her outlook. cause he said "look i know shes not interested in me at all, im too much of a loser for her to like me but im still gonna offer to do this for her because its a nice thing i can do for her" he saw her completely heartbroken that her prom night was ruined without a date and he decided to at least try and make it better for her, even though he knew there was a good chance he was going to get burned because even if she did let him be her date he knew it wouldnt be because she actually wanted to be with him. He was prepared to be crushed like that because he would rather be hurt and hurt himself than see her hurting. Rachel sees all this in the video and kinda internally decideds that ross has been getting crushed for years and still wants to be with me, maybe i should give him another chance because he clearly cares about me alot. So yeah, thats my argument.... Ive watched a lot of this show...
In this episode, Monica's parents bring her many boxes of stuff, full of memories and keepsakes yet in a later episode she still gets given her dads Porsche when some of her remaining boxes in their garage, suffer water damage. Lucky, lucky! Precious memories and a Porsche.
