Rather than use VIM or nano text editors; I suggest using Micro Text editor for basic config editing, light programming, etc. Later on look at EMACS or VIM; but I find EMACS good if you don't like modal text editors. Another option is use an AI assistant (example - Google Gemini free AI)to learn about bash further; but be careful sometimes it makes little mistakes but will perhaps help point you into the right direction to whatever you want to do.
@@JamesChampionLinux Just a bit of learning curve at first, and to get your first emacs config file setup. That glaring white background scares probably lots of people, but you can make it look quite decent. I prefer EMACS over those big IDEs like VScodium.
@@JamesChampionLinux Oh ya I watch some of his videos, was helpful. Thanks. I haven't mastered EMACS; but got some basics and slowly learning. I tried neovim and vim; I just can't get into it and don't like modal editors.
Pretty neat! I’m happy this video got randomly recommended to me. Exactly what I needed. Thank you. Subbed👍

Micro seems to be a good middle ground between Nano and Vim, and Emacs is definitely there if you want to fashion a whole different kind of setup.

The Distrotube channel looks like he does some good videos on setting up Emacs and Doom Emacs.
