18th October 2023 (10-11am) Waves crashing over sea wall with trains passing. All trains using the up track to keep away from the biggest waves crashing over the wall.
I lived in Starcross back in 96 and then moved to Dawlish for a short time, during the winter months it's a miserable town, if I have a bad day here in South Surrey I just think of Dawlish and I'm suddenly feeling better. Cheers
Rust not so much the problem. More like the entire line being destroyed, which happened a few years ago. The wall here has been rebuilt at a cost of £60 million, and was completed this summer. Let's see how that goes.

Have to imagine that the railroad battles rust here. Do railroads use cathodic protection like pipelines?
