Thanks so much for the video Daniel, it always makes my day 🙏🏻 This content is incredible and the fact that you put it out for free is so honorable. Much love, your videos have really helped me calm down and be fascinated for just a little while in a world that is so hectic. Lost my dad a few weeks ago and just wanted you to know how much your videos have helped 👍🏻❤️
Hi Daniel - first of all just wanted to say how incredible your channel is - your explanations are second to none and you make a very complicated game seem so simple. I was wondering if at some point you can do a video on what programme you use to input your long play games on after a game; what engines you use and how exactly you analyse a long play game (how long you spend and what key points do you look for). Thanks so much
@@periodic98 You’re right, but I was talking more about fair fights. At the start of the speedrun it was like Mike Tyson boxing a 4 year old. Currently, it’s like Mike Tyson boxing an amateur fighter. They’re definitely fighting back, but they can’t do much against the monster chess player that is Daniel
100% any time i look up videos about openings, its like cheese stuff or not very much depth, but once danya starts talking through the openings, the responses, the principle for using it. it all just makes so much sense.
What irks me about opening tutorials is they assume your opponent will play the main line, without explaining what are the core strengths of your position. Danya is great at explaining what to do when your opponent fucks around.
At 10:05 kh1 is obviously checkmate, but he's fine if he plays kg1, since after re1, he plays nf1. The knight is protected by the rook and the king, so you cannot take it like you could if he played kh1. So he's fine there.
4:55 knight takes knight rook takes queen rook g1 check king g2 rook g1 mate win a piece or checkmate edit: nevermind when knight takes knight white can just recapture with the bischop and you cant take it because your own bischop is hanging
9:19 Apparently Qe2 is NOT checkmate in a couple moves as white has the absurd defensive resource of going Rf2 simultaneously blocking the black queen and opening up the diagonal for white to play Qg2 after black takes. Obviously white loses the game still
Probably too late for anyone to see, but what happens in an Alekhine if white plays 2. Nc3 trying to transpose into a Vienna? It seems like Black would need to immediately respond to the threat of e5, but I'm not exactly seeing how that happens without going into a Vienna or losing a lot of space advantage
When Danya explains concepts and ideas behind his moves, it always seems so logical and simple. But then I try to apply that to a game and I play and blunder like a 700 :P
Just by watchin ur videos my rating shot up like a hundred pts and it isn’t really a special opening or anything like that it’s just seeing positions and good squares for my pieces. Also having a plan. Great videos from the prophet himself
You could thank all your new subs at the end of your stream. 1. The end of the stream is the most powerful time to remind people that they can sub. 2. It won't interrupt your flow. 3. It will be better for youtube. I'm curious if others agree.
the stream is too long.. sometimes 3 hours or more, so he probably have to respond quick to keep the atencion of the subscribers, but for youtube this would be better for sure.
If you play the Alekhine defense under 1600, you're almost certainly going to see someone respond with NC3, instead of e5. I like responding with d5 instead of e5, which feels bland.
This happens, when their opponent plays very good positional moves, they focus to much on countering the positional game they drop a piece accidentaly, ofcourse 2000 wont hang a piece to a 1600 😁
At one point I was 800, after watching Danya vids,, I was successful to up my rating up to 1,200 Then, I start to feel not enjoying playing chess because this "illusion" to always increase the rating... (I call this illusion because I didn't earn money playing it, but always feel tired after playing) After that, I decided to drop my rating 500 and playing only for fun And watch Danya vids also for fun only, not for learning haha
"trust in the potential energy of your pieces" reminds me very much of star wars and feeling the force haha :D i think i'm just not creative enough for this level of chess, i can't see the moves you see. i dont see why they're good until you do them and explain it. :( i love watching tho and hope i retain something to improve my game :D
Lowkey one of the best series on YT.
100% agree

Daniel: bruh
I wanted to watch a Najdorf cuz that's what I play
I honestly feel bad for people who don’t watch this series. They are missing out

Gotta have to disappoint ya there, he already said he wouldn’t do it.

Then start up a game: one move blunder, what is going on, what am I supposed to do here, where did all my time go, resign
Everybody chilling until Danya says "here the fun starts"
This is probably the most in depth series teaching chess on TH-cam, thanks for uploading it here.
just normal day in Danya land producing one of the most instructive and beautifully tactical positions in all of chess education
Danya is so entertaining even when he's teaching chess theory lol

Danya looking real fancy holding that tea cup with his pinky out
A true gentleman always drinks tea with pinkies out.
You mentioned a-tier openings, do you ever plan on making an opening tier list like Hikaru and Levy?
I'd also appreciate that.
I went from 600 to 1200 because of this speed run, thanks sensei for teaching me chess principles for free.
5:09 well said. You love to see it.
I really can't describe how much I admire you and how much you have inspired me to THINK. Thank you so much, Daniel!
I love when he says “sexy” makes me laugh 😂
Is there more Charlie coaching sessions? I don't see the video of Danya teaching Charlie the vienna.

I love this series. Daniel really knows how to teach!
I don’t understand why he resigned at 23:50?
Chat: Play an Alekhine!!
Danya: OK great idea!
Next game: Plays the Alekhine. Wins in 8 moves 🤣
I wonder at what rating the opponent's rating no longer gets refunded
Underrated question
When he reaches his real rating on his chess . com
Probably when the opponents actually start fighting back
koifish528 well I mean they are attacking back, its just they’re not doing it at a Grandmaster level.

7:25 - It's free real estate :-)
Sicilian: 0:01
Alakein: 15:48, 21:54
I used to think Daniel's surname was Najdorf and the Najdorf Sicilian was named after him haha
4:55 knight takes knight rook takes queen rook g1 check king g2 rook g1 mate win a piece or checkmate
edit: nevermind when knight takes knight white can just recapture with the bischop and you cant take it because your own bischop is hanging
In the first game where you are calculating the idea for checkmate, after he plays king g3, shouldn’t you play qd6, be7?
9:19 Apparently Qe2 is NOT checkmate in a couple moves as white has the absurd defensive resource of going Rf2 simultaneously blocking the black queen and opening up the diagonal for white to play Qg2 after black takes. Obviously white loses the game still
If that happens I think black bringing other rook to e8 is mate in two

It's interesting, the game was super short but the analysis had some really great lessons

Me, a 700: Never have I been so offended by something I 100% agree with
Already watched the entire video.
I don't know chess very well. Did the last opponent resign just because they blundered the bishop? Or was there another reason?
Yh, it's just because he blundered the bishop. He didn't want to continue a whole piece down!

could you please mention what your opponents should have done at those critical points where you got your biggest advantage?
Could you try playing a Najforf again next video? I'd really like to hear your explanations on some of the ideas.

2100 opponents blunder pieces in one in the first 10 moves meanwhile I face 1200 dudes that blunders 0 pieces and play perfect accuracy games :(
They're all GM's doing speedruns.
we all got inexplicable moves sometimes
Alekhine's Defence seems really strong, 8 moves only wow!
4:56 nxd2 looks winning bc rxd3 re1 and rg1#
Edit: thought I was clever, but Danya prob rejected it bc of just bxd2 liquifying into an endgame where black is barely better maybe even equal
I wish my openings were so powerful they could win by force on move 8
