Dan is by far the best instructor on TH-cam. Levy tries too hard to be funny, Hikaru doesn’t explain anything and just talks about juicers, ben is too sarcastic and agadmator explains moves retroactively after consulting the engine without proper analysis

Check out my other favorites as well: Hanging pawns and NM Robert Ramirez! I love Danya for his 'walkthrough logic' "ok the position has transformed, we need to reevaluate first." Hanging pawns has a lot of theory and knowledge, only 2000 Fide, while Robert is similar in his content, he may offer you some niche/rare, but practical lines, as he is a NM. I joined my first few tournaments last month, and with the help of all these guys, I'm already 1600 USCF!

I've watched lots of chess streamers and TH-camrs, but this is genuinely the most insightful and useful content I have come across, that still is also very entertaining.
I love how Daniel purposefully makes you think about the position, like he actively tries to make you consider new possibilities. Extremely helpful

Interesting move at 3:50. I'm glad we get to explore all these variations of the Caro-Kann. It's making me want to play it instead of the sicilian.
I play the caro just know that though the gms make it look seamless it is anything but
the sicilian is such a hard opening
@@Tyler-bp4md that's understandable. Few 1300s go into main-line theory anyway. I encounter a lot of Bc4 on move 3, Bb5+ on move 3 after d6. I only get the Najdorf about 10% of the time, maybe now 25%, and in that position white has many good moves which all have good responses. :)

19:51Very instructive Daniel thank you . The innocuous ab6 is much strong than the natural looking almost conditioned reflex capture Bxa6 ?! This theme of the stupid looking but deadly innocuous bishop moves instead of say the obvious bishop out post moves can be intriguing in chess because the bishops can reveal a lot of other possibilities in a few moves later. And even strong out posted bishops can become targets or easily avoided, but sometimes the bishop and pawn is very strong or very weak in endgame. Interesting finding quirky chess ideas comes with experience great Lesson Daniel .I think I've played Caro Kann 3 times in my life lol. Lets give it a try... yeah boi !! .I like to play against caro kann with white and I know a couple of whites gambits and I know and another crazy line chasing blacks bishop, I found with one of my gambits. The caro Kahn was actually played in Vienna chess but caro made it big in the world of chess that's why they made it the caro kahn

I need a King's Indian defence episode please Danya. I know the opening moves and what I want to do against some variations but sometimes especially against higher rated players I'm just lost for what to do in the middlegame.
Oddly enough I do better when they opposite side castle, cause then I push C5 instead of E5 and swarm them on the queenside.
He played lots of King's Indian defense in prior speedruns!

you said pawn cubes can be clumsy in an end game, but if you have that pawn cube and wiped all of the major and minor pieces off the board, it would be almost impossible for your opponent to stop that pawn cube from rolling down the board
