Hey Kosmic, just wanted to tell you, that I actually pulled this glitch off in the original SMB, but on PAL version in combination with a floor clip and breaking the block behind the castle... just saying because you said it wasn't possible because of the timer... I even made a video about it
@@Kosmicd12 You can do it in 8-3 by getting to the right side of the screen so that you warp to the left after grabbing the flagpole and then mario eventually ends up walking to the right forever
@@haribo3937 that will put you in the pit. The screen slowly moves to the right but it will eventually transition. I'm pretty sure it won't reach this point

Kosmic: How to explore NES Super mario bros. after the flag pole and to see what happen after the glitchy graphic, just turn on lua script called SMB jet pack, if you are about to run out of time just press up on the D-pad to reset the time. Also make sure a lua script is .lua. If it is a .exe lua script it could harm your computer. Once you see the flag pole again unloaded nothing else is diffrent if you go behond it

The warp zone at the end of 4-2 you mean? The pipe leads to 5-1 still. The whole reason minus world/glitched world 5 warp works is because the warp zone basically defaults to that world 5 warp zone, when it hasn't loaded fully yet.
One time I was playing the original super mario bros and all of a sudden in 1-2 it glitched and all the sprites just turned into random numbers and crap. I accidentally reset the game and couldn’t get footage. It might have just been an emulation glitch because I was on emulator though. I still can’t replicate it and found out what caused it.
@@CubeXGameDev it happens in those spots because there are coins on top of bricks, plus enemies. It's a combination of brick breaking + dispelling particles + collecting coin + stomping enemies + awarding points for breaking brick + awarding points for collecting coin + updating coin count + awarding points for stomping enemies + updating flashing coin at top of screen + updating timer. All of that is enough to lag a lot and cause some corruption

Making this hack was a huge learning experience for me, it was my first hack and I learned a lot just from watching my friends play it. I was actually inspired to start making smb1 romhacks by watching romhack Wednesday! I'm glad you think shades is one of your favorites btw, I'm very proud of the level design in that one!
