This is a video shows how to replace the stereo speakers in the front doors on 2007-13 Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban and Avalanche This also works on 2014 2500 and 3500 Silverado and Sierra.

I put the same Kickers and adapters from Crutchfield in my 2010 Silverado crew cab. Those adapters leave space between the speaker and the sound opening in the door panel. This means the speaker is firing into the open space inside the door panel. This results in less than optimal sound due to reverberation inside the door making it boomy and less defined. Notice that your factory speakers have a gasket or baffle between the rim of the speaker and the door panel to direct the sound into the cab and reduce bleed into the door panel. Those rear baffles will help a little, but using something like FAST Rings will help you get the optimal sound from those speakers. I opted to make my own foam baffles around the circumference of the new adapters that press up against the circumference of the sound openings in the door panels. Much better musical experience that way. One other thing...I keep seeing everyone taking the door lever cable off. This is totally unnecessary. There is enough room to just turn the door panel so you can access the speakers. No sense in fighting that stupid cable. Get a box or stool to rest the door panel on to take tension off the cable and it's all good.
Those screw hole tabs are purposefully designed to be simply snapped off with lever action, no need to snip them off. You'll get a cleaner break if you just snap them off with you thumbs or pliers.
I used the old adapter each door on my yukon , cut the old speakers out

Just wondering, does the stock OEM system have enough Watts to drive set of speakers like that??
You need to cut out the bottom rear half of that baffle. You have just made a small box, and door speakers are designed to be played infinite baffle, which uses the airspace inside the door.
Do you remember what size those baffles are? I have same truck and I do see where the 6 3/4 speakers say they fit,but the 6 3/4 baffles say not a fit for this truck
Why not use eight screws per speaker ? With a dot of Loc-tite JS ❤️
What screw size did you use to screw the speaker onto the adapter
you didn't replace the tweeter also? I'm about to do the same thing. and I'm wondering if I should get component speakers and replace the tweeters

I didn't do the tweeters. At least I never got around to it. The tweeters were still working but my door speakers had failed.
does your truck have Bose stock setup? just curious if with bose, can new speakers just be installed....??
999nine999 No I don't have the factory Bose system. I would imagine that yes, you can replace the Bose speakers without any additional trouble.
Was there a big difference in the sound quality?
joshuas10 Not a big difference. There was a noticeable difference (improvement) mainly in clarity. For what I paid for these speakers... I'm very happy with the sound quality. Thanks for watching!

noooooooooooooooooo your suppose to bend them with pliers or something it has the cutouts already just bend and it flushly bend then breaks off.

All from Crutchfield. The brackets were included free with the speakers. You have to tell them what vehicle you have. Year, make and model. The foam bucket was not included with the speakers but also purchased from Crutchfield at the same time.
Can i put 6x9 on 2007 tahoe?

If you use speaker baffles it will eliminate your mid bass. A set of fast rings would enhance clarity and bass
