Yes, Ammut (sometimes spelled Ammit; we actually have no fucking idea how ancient Egyptian vowels worked) was an actual part of the Egyptian pantheon. Basically, in ancient Egyptian mythology, when a person died, Anubis weighed their heart on a set of scales to judge whether they were virtuous or not. If they were pure of heart, he would allow them into the afterlife; if they were wicked, Ammit would devour the heart and the person would cease to exist.
Yeah, religion back then was a lot more hardcore than most of the ones nowadays.

Dartz is voiced by Takahata101, the voice of Alucard and Cell

I wanted to tell you guys a while back, that in terms of a timeline, you were technically supposed to watch the Yu-gi-oh Abridged movie: Pyramid of Light. It makes a little bit more sense in that aspect, i think.

as a kemetic. i love the amount of info thats legit. the kemetic religion is a very old one, the yugioh manga and the abridged series keep the details as true as they can funny enough. except the whole ancient battle with monsters thing and Egyptian history being run by a card game of course. when they talk about the gods though and the background on egypt they do follow true facts instead of just creating a bullshit story.
Really... I may actually read the manga sometime then. That's honestly quite surprising.
@@sterlingmuse5808 I can highly recommend it, the first 50 chapters especially since you actually get to see how the gang became such great friends instead of 1 or 2 flashbacks, also its brutal as hell yugi literally sets someone on fire, electrocutes an entire gang, and also the scene where the crocodile god bites someones head off, so yeah definetly worth it
The best stories use the most accurate facts they can to create a more solid plotline. Otherwise it just becomes nonsensical fan service
