Guys, how do you like this use of a piece of steel beam? By the way, I have one more piece left. Do you have any ideas what interesting things can be done?
You played a symphony, made the iron dance in your hands, and produced a piece that demonstrates your intelligence, talent, and mastery of work - continue, maestro.
The reason no one has done this , ( what a waste of time ) for the time and materials you could have bought a 12" chop saw , I'll give you an a for effort 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
For an external switch I think I would add an electrical box with one plug socket for the cord and a switch where the other socket would ordinarily be. That should be available at home centers. For 120 volt appliances you should be able to run a cord from the switch box to a standard wall plug. Nice video.
Yes, it’s very cute and nice, but I would expect most people would spend the money to buy a cheap cut off saw instead of investing all that time and energy I would rather make other things I think but at least you do nice work 👍
Well done video. Nice use of the car hub for the turn table mechanism. This would be a nice addition for cutting small items that are difficult to hold in place on my big metal chopsaw. I use car rear hub and spindle assemblies to make super strong gate hinges.
Man I was really hoping this would be a home made grinder for sharpening knives or actually putting an edge on new knife blanks for cheap ...... Any chance you would be willing to do that next I don't know a lot about metal fabrication but I feel like this could easily be turned into one
As for the remote power switch, install a junction box to the beam, with a 3conductor cord, an outlet to plug the grinder in & a switch to turn it on and off. Had a similar situation, built a portable table for my mini disc/belt sander on one end, 6" dual bench grinder on the other. I made the choice to hardwire both to the JB because they both had switches. So I added two outlets to the box.
I have an old Craftsman Miter box (chop style) that is still accurate... and have a metal cutting blade dedicated to it. You can pick up these old miter boxes for $50 or less. Quicker to pop in a blade....
Foot pedal for power. You can buy 1 that is ready to go. All you do is plug the tool into the pedal, and plug the pedal into the wall. If the power switch is turned on, you can step on the pedal to turn it on. When you're done using the tool you can turn the tool off and the pedal will cease to function.
Why hasn't anyone done this before? You know why? Because you can buy better tool in each store on the corner, for less money that you spent on thos thing, less effort, and much better parameters than this thing! This is fckn nonsense

🤩🤩🤩
That is an awesome idea and really good fab work. Ill have to make one for home
A truly remarkable act of creative workmanship. You're a craftsman, not just a doer.
The best tools are the ones that you make yourself. Great video thumbs up.

A nice wee project, and as a bonus, I don't feel so bad about my welding any more.
Hi. Excellent use of an old steel beam. I like how you transform ordinary things into interesting devices 👍
Que preciosidad..... Un afectuoso saludo.

He obviously has the time, and this isn't mass production standards. Your equation isn't applicable here....
WOW!!! Excellent!!!
Couldn’t you just take an old miter saw that people throw away all the time and convert it
So, instead of using what he has he should run around looking for something he doesn't?...
Very cool! I always enjoy seeing the tools you create. 🙂
I am very glad that you liked it! Thank you for your high appreciation👍
@jodilea144 created or copied from others?
Muy bien fabricado
Your work is always clean and on point. And such a great tool for the shop; well done
Excelente gracias por compartir tu trabajo.
Saludos desde Venezuela 👍💯✍️
Wow 🤩
Awesome work, Vanya! Nicely done! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
*I always love how we have to wait until the very end to know what it is that you are making 🙂 A mobile Mitre angle grinder machine 🙂.*
Very cool! I always enjoy seeing the tools you create.
Bravissimo!!!
Excellent.
Muy inteligente e interesante
OMG. I hand to save this vid.
You earned my sub easily.
Thanks, from Clint in Virginia
Nice!

Super nice work my friend!👍
Excellent useful tool ❤

Very compact!
I like it.

Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you liked it. I'll think about how to do what you described!
Those markers are amazing. Where do I get some?
RIDICULOUSLY good! Love the title... Ha haaa -- "old steel beam...: Right. A bit more to it than that, eh?
Cool! I thought you were going to use it as a steel bar bender, or mount it to garage ceiling beam as a pully system. Anyways, good job.
Very nice !!

You did a great job on the design and fabrication of that metal cut-off tool.
Thank you for your assessment. I like to do and invent something new
You could sharpen chainsaw chains with this setup. Just make a holding device for the chain.
Hi. Thanks for such good advice, maybe I'll do it someday!
🙏👏👍💪
Holy crap. You truly are a creative genius. Well done. Bty, how do you plan on replacing the hub bearing when it goes bad? Lol. Just kidding.
That piece of metal cuts like butter 😂😂😂
very cool!
Very nice hob 👍

Just buy a ready made chop saw
A bigger one even more useful
For the top bolt holding side grinder, use the handle that came with it. Then you don’t reach over to push down.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to delete those hood laces when working around power tools in the shop.
The I-beam or the old front axle hub?
OK, it’s a cool tool, but I wanna know where he got the white felt pen that dissolves metal from… was it Q from James Bond
Just buy a radial saw
Chances are it has been done before and you just copied it.
Not a steel beam. Thats a pathetic steel beam. So thin!
What is it then?
Knee brace or short span yea flimsy
He is a wizard with those zip discs
Beauty Job bud sign him up 😮
