managed to get the throttle plate in and connected- spring position is crucial for the small spring- glad to took pictures with my phone! up and running now thanks Jim - took alot of patience like you said!
Jim, my favorite Snapper throttle control was one fabricated for a friend to work like the handlebar grip twist throttle on a motorcycle. A real "Easy Rider."
I am going to have to change my throttle cable Jim, I will be doing that this week. I look forward to modifying my snapper into a soft fitted 8 wheel rear engine Snapper rider mower. Look forward to get my modification parts from you Jim. Good day and peace too. Victor

What size wrench do I need to tighten that cable? I have a snack for like you and before I go outside to the lawnmower I want to take the rope wrench. Thank you
Hey Jim, I really appreciate your videos. The plastic piece that attaches to the bracket assembly you mention at 2:32, do you happen to have the part number for that? It's for a Snapper model 2812523BVE. I would really appreciate your help
Hi Jim, can you tell me the part number to order that bracket that has a white plastic piece because our white plastic piece broke on our riding lawnmower any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
OK now I think I know what piece you’re talking about if it’s a white plastic piece that Goes on your control plate where your throttle cable hooks into you cannot buy those pieces you have to buy the whole control plate. Jim
thanks Jim- my throttle plate broke- plastic piece on it-- crap-- so i ordered a new one on amazon but are there any tricks to getting the throttle cable back on and spring? I know there are 3 screws to take out and a bunch of wires looks like ground wires to take off- mike
No tricks that I can think of just a lot of patience sometimes it’s hard to get the link in and the springs hooked up. Let me know how you’re doing. Jim
@@jimjackson9381 get the part later today- got the old one out and took pictures- thanks- let you know- used my lamp that i wear on my head - works great- wife suggested it-lol- i also bought a fuel shut off-
Hi, could you post a link of what you ordered? Because our white plastic piece broke on our snapper riding mower and I am not sure where to order it from. Thank you.
What is the part number for the bracket that he said you have to replace the whole bracket not just the little plastic piece. Having a hard time finding it, i have 17hp rear engine 33" cut snapper and the little plastic piece broke, and I remembered in the video he said you have to purchase the whole bracket. So if I can get a parts number for that bracket with the plastic piece that would be great.
Sorry to bug u . I have a question about mines. It doesn't move when I put it in gear. I've notice when I let go of the brake pedal the brake itself stays applied. Need help thanks
The first thing I want you to check take your hubcaps off and check the bolts that go through your axle and wheel flange and make sure neither one of those are broken or missing. And let me know what you find. Jim
My local repair shop recently replaced my throttle cable and now the new throttle doesn't allow me to use the full range of the lever . When i slide it down to low speed the lever stops about a half inch before it gets to the end of the slot on the lever panel. Is this a problem that i should be concerned about and ask them to redo or not ?
A lot of them are that way it’s hard to get an original so it fits properly but watch your engine where your linkage is and move the lever back-and-forth and just make sure you’re getting full travel on the linkage to the carburetor. Jim
5/16 wrench I need to take a flashlight with me because I am not a mechanic. I’m just a farm boy my brothers were good but I am not thank you very much.
I would start by taking your throttle cable off of your control plate and out of the little white plastic block and see if it will move freely without the cable hooked to it and don’t have your engine running if it does move freely then your throttle cable is probably starting to rust and it needs to be oiled or replaced, if it doesn’t move try oiling it with some WD-40 and working it back-and-forth , let me know what you find out. Jim
