I’m starting to process to come over at the start of next year! I’ve heard about some mines and company’s not being great. Is there any you would definitely avoid or even ones that you would use ? Been watching all your vids bro! Definitely keen to get out 💪🏼
Thats epic news mate! Tbh i only have experience in this 1 company and was at 1 site the whole time. So cant really say about others bud. If you want everything laid out infront of ya and everything you needa do with your journey over you could download my full step by step guide. Its all in there :)
Do you have any advice on how to get in a role for a quick cash grab? I'm 31 and have no mines experience, but I've been a stone masons labourer, so I'm all good with hard work.. I have been applying online to a bunch of mines for offsider positions as thats all I really see for entry level and haven't heard back, honestly just want to do a few years at most so I really don't care how bad the work is, I just want to save on rent and work hard to stack up some cash for a while.
@calmcilwaine I have a kiwi passport, so got full work rights here. I have a whitecard from working as a labourer but that was over five years ago, I'd gone overseas for a few years working online as a freelancer, but for last two years I've been in Aus only working as a bike delivery person (food apps) because I got a bit sick of being stuck behind my laptop all day.. I think my lack of recent relevant references is not doing me good, but honestly had only applied for drillers offsider positions I didn't know what else I could go for with no trade skills. Cheers.
@@Jimsimi do a 1 day course as a telehandler operator. Then apply to either linkforce or monadelphous as a telehandler operator. That's the quickest way I can think of. You'll have to do a few other box ticking short courses but you'll be doing those either way.
Hey mate thanks for the comment. So your firstly gonna needa look up if you can get over on the working holiday visa, either 417 or 462. Thats your first step to see if you can actyally get the working rights to head to australia. Once you have that confirmed then let me know and ill help ya through it all. I also have a video on visas so check that out!
If you don't want the work, move over there's plenty of Australian citizens that do.And don't allow non citizens to work in the mines when Australians are unemployed.
If more Australians wanted to do the FIFO roles then the mining companies wouldnt have to worry about hiring loads of overseas people. The locals will 100% get a job sooner than a foregin worker. But not enough local aussies want to
You first needa find out if you can get a visa that allows you to work in Oz. Once you know you can then you can get my guide, I help you with each step of the process. That’s your way in!
Did mining 14yrs; easiest work. Best pay, but the repetition and some mines are toxic af. Blokes who have no life experience. I would not recommend and would not do again.
Frig mate 14 years is ages! Fair play. What was your role? Can be pretty repetitive depending on the role. Defs get what you mean about wee clicks of mates also
Welcome to Australia. HARDEN THE FXXK UP ! i was a road train driver for 25 years. You got it way better than most trukkies. Ive spent most of my birthdays and Christmas alone in a truck alone.
@ShaneMoore-e2f Yes and no. He's just expressing that other people go through hardships for work. And some Truck driving can be extremely hard work. And people like me who have done a few years of FIFO mine work. Just think you chose to be there so just stop whinging on the Internet like all the others sook's and get on with it. If ya don't like it ya can allways leave.
Oh poor baby. To be forced to do that must be terrible. Oi, hang on you choose to do this. Can't leave the site? Thats BS. Have a spoon of concrete in ya coffee and harden up.
😂😂😂 I’m just highlighting the negatives to let people know before they start to try and work. I obviously just get on with it and think the benefits out weight the positives. Been doing it for a year so far
@calmcilwaine OK. I get that, but You didn't really explain that you did it to warn people about what they're getting into. You just said the negatives of FIFO. I've had some of the best times of my life with mates in mine camps. Especially if you can get out onto the country around you. Money wasn't that good when I did mine work and it is the most dangerous work I've ever done as well. Goods an bads. Stay safe mate.
