I was stationed at Treasure Island in 1975 and watched the Enterprise steam in that morning. On a re-enlistment you can turn down your first duty station but you have got to take your second. The first for me was VT-24 Beeville,Tx. The next set of orders for an AMH was for VF-111 on the Enterprise.
The first time I saw one, was when I was in "A" school, Millington,Tn. There was a horrific sound, looking up,all I could see was two flames going straight up
@@larryburns4605Grumman had more iterations planned to modernize it but Congress decided to Congress and decommission it and worse scrap em all not even one to put in a museum. The only country that still has them in service is Iran. In my personal opinion decommissioning something this beautiful should be a crime
CVN70 Vinson!!! - I was CV64 Constellation - WOW - wish we had the same the technology to make the recordings we had in the past. Glad to see the Greatest Fighter ever (F14 TOMCAT). THANK YOU SO MUCH, Bobby CV64 (1977-1981)
The footage I used is from a documentary covering training at Miramar and carrier operations somewhere off the west coast then an 2nd documentary covering only carrier ops off the coast of Japan est. 1985
@@CobraOneTwelve I was on the World Cruise, 1983-1984. I was in the sister outfit, VF-51. 111 was Tarps and we were not. Thanks, keep up the great work!

Had some great times in VF-51 from 85-89 and working with the PCs in VF-111. Both squadrons worked together as a great team.
