I almost died at Action Park, a couple of years ago. I was going down this 100 ft slide and apparently I almost fell over the side at the top. When I got to the bottom, I didn't realize anything happened but a lady was crying and some lifeguard kept asking if I was okay. My friend thought it was hilarious. Awkward that people actually died there.

God I miss this place. I lived 20 minuets away, and went several times a year. It’s craziness can’t be justified in these videos. They served beer there to everyone. That’s right, they don’t tell you everyone was wasted there. Good times, great survival stories, if you survived.

My Science teacher went in the wave pool and he almost died. Cuz he started drowning and the lifeguard just ignored him until somebody else dragged him out!
I couldn’t believe half of this so I asked my dad, who grew up in Jersey, If this was all real , and sure enough his response was,”I used to go all the time with grandpa: it was freakin awesome but really dangerous, everything was made of rocks and concrete”

They forgot to mention the Kayak ride where you get to ride in your own kayak down a shallow river. Apparently somebody's Kayak flipped over so they needed to flip it back, so they went into the water. They ended up getting electrocuted and dying because their foot touched a stray wire on the bottom... not sure if this was Action Park or not, but that's some freaky crap

That death trap was as dangerous as advertised, no matter how popular it was. Fun as hell, but still an out of control death trap.

Okay this legit /terrified/ me. That is so messed up, you can't just let that many people die. The employees must have been absolute idiots. That's so ridiculous, I can't process it...
Don't worry. I work in an amusement park and nothing like this has happened in the 43 years that it has been open. The ride operators go through training a few months/weeks before it opens for the season.

Alpine slides are great, I've been on concrete ones before in Stowe, Vermont; Park City, Utah; and in southern Germany. They're loads of fun!

I survived going there as a kid. Oh the fun memories. That looping slide was no joke. When I went, there was an accident there and an ambulance. Someone got stuck in the loop. It was insane.

I actually when to Action park, on a school trip no less, as a kid. I remember the water slide was concrete and it wasnt smooth at all! They gave u this flimsy,thin styrofoam thingy to go down on and it cut the shit outta my legs! No joke! It was crazy fast to.Ive never been on another water slide ever again due to that ride! No supervision there at all. Young boys r rough by nature, when they were in this park they went bat shit crazy! Lol. Jumping off the cliff into the pool was pretty cool.

I saw one video about it, they said they would advertise to spanish speakers nearby in jersey, but none of the staff spoke spanish. So the 14 year old giving safety instructions has no idea how to tell you what not to do.
It wasn't exactly that the staff didn't give af. The staff was 14-17 year olds. They said that they'd have 3 17 years old managing the whole park at once and the 14 year olds were running the rides. It was more the owner didn't care.

My school playground as a kid was probably a hazard. The slide was kinda rusty and probably not up to health standards. It was awkwardly balanced on some wood logs. It wasnt as dangerous as that amusement park, but pretty dangerous for a school playground.

At dream world in Australia there's a slide that does a full loop, my friend got stuck in it and had to have people come take him out. It starts with a vertical drop that's a few storeys tall.

Stuck at the top of the loop? Wouldn't you get stuck at the bottom? If your are on the top you can just slide down?
FMKdiamondZ No, you'd get stuck at the top because you wouldn't have enough speed to ensure enough centrifugal force to continue all the way through the loop. At that point you couldn't just slide down, it would be like falling from a two story building...not high enough to kill you, but high enough to hurt a lot.

Swag Master Technically I suppose they're both correct. The tube would be applying centripetal force on you and you are applying centrifugal force on it which when combined is what allows you to complete the rotation (given enough speed) and not die.
I rode a waterslide that did a loop-de-loop a couple of years ago, but you needed to be 90+ pounds and it was nearly vertical to gain enough speed.

Wittlewumpa , I lived up the street from Action Park when I was in my late teens. My brother was friends with a kid who was an employee, & the first person to get KILLED there! I believe he was testing the Alpine Slide, & was going so fast, he went off the track. He hit his head, on a rock, & died...IT WAS SO AWFUL...SO SAD!!....I went to the park, but I NEVER went on the Alpine Slide.
in Australia we have alpine slides at jambaroo and ive been on it many times and it was fun, and i think it was safer than the one in the us

New addition: Schlitterbahn in Kansas City. The slide decapitated a kid. I went with my little sister just a month before this happened and we were having weight issues but they let us through anyways. Scary to think about.

Action Park has been open for a while... I remember I went just last summer, and the summer before that, and the summer before that. They just renamed it to Mountain Creek, but they renamed it back to Action Park again. In all honesty, it is beyond fun. I went on most of the slides/rides that they showed in the video that are still open.
