In this video i will show you how use or convert your old laptop hard drive in to a external hard disk,in this video you can learn how to remove hard drive from a laptop and use it on PC or any other laptop.

Hi. If I remove the HDD which is partitioned into 3 drives(having data) from my laptop and put it in a Caddy and use it as an external device, will the three partitions be available with all the data? Will there be any data loss?

@@ricogothitz9997 yes you can. Go ahead. It will work like a normal external hard disk bro. All your old personal files+windows files will be there. If you are not going to use your laptop afterwards, you can even delete the windows files for some more space....

Dinesh S P ok one last question, so my laptop didn’t really break it was updating and I turned it off and now it’s stuck in a reboot loop and I can’t access my desktop. I guess I can use this technique so I can save my files. I ran a diagnostics test on my laptop and the hard drive works fine . I just want my files to be saved I have to much school work that I do not want to lose .

Bro i had no disc partition on my old laptop, and all the docs were on C drive, and that laptop stoped working due to some motherboard issue, so if i take the hdd out, convert it like this and connect it with other pc, will the data of C drive will be there?

Recover all your files and then format it to remove OS or just leave the OS there if it has enough space

No. You may need to partition it again as a single disk

It is an hdd enclosure, they connect the hdd to a usb port so you can connect it to a laptop as a usb

@@Nando85ec nothing regarding licenses just see whether harddisk detects in bios option ..with that you can find harddisk work or not
That's precisely the problem, one day it was recognized but I didn't back up all my info... then another day my laptop no longer recognizes it... I thought the drive could be broken but I can still see pictures on my tv so... It must be working.

yes, same size anyway.
but i recommend ssd as boot drive for faster boot and opening application. if you have 2 ssd no problem.

okay, here's what I see in this video that doesn't add-up;
I can see on the old hard drive it's got a 4 pin bus spaced a couple mm away from the SATA Bus _(that hard drive needs to be powered, it's looking a power cable...& it can't get power through the Sata Bus like the two Mid-2012 MacBook Pro's I just upgraded...)_ so my question here, is how are you powering that hard drive?!?

I had the same question that it needs power supply but I saw a couple of videos on this topic, and found that on laptop hard disk it works perfect with usb and with computer hard disk it requires external supply
