    Les needs more recognition.
Pull the finger out and make it happen.

The rock engraving looks like it has Zeeuwse knopjes (Zeeland buttons) drawn on it at 16:50. These are an old-time ornament from the Zeeland province of the Netherlands.

You could be right, although I looked at the carving and it looked more like a seated Buddha than a European to me.

I am lucky enough to have the book that accompanies this series. Bush Tucker Man, stories of exploration and survival. Les writes like he speaks, no nonsense. A truly great man.

the exploring party of Lieut Grey in the hinterland of NW West Australia in 1837, copied cave paintings of figures. One is a full figure of person wearing a long gown, a large head piece with some form of initials and alongside a string of small round marks all in a row. Clearly the figure was european and the marks ? A calendar or some form of recording how long they had been here ?

I think I watched Bush Tucker Man in England back in the early 90's. Now you could use Google maps and sit at home and look for them.

A good Hiddins (age 74) yarn but shipwreck survivors just didn't have the resources, or knowledge of target, to trek inland for hundreds of kilometres. I would have remained on the coast where at least seafood was guaranteed. And try to signal passing ships with a mirror.

I love Les and Dutch shipwreck survivors may well have become integrated in Aboriginal tribes on the W.A. coast but this story is almost certainly not true. This is a good analysis

The reason you can’t find anything about this is because it would change the history of Australia and that’s definitely not allowed. What about the cave paintings that the aborigines say are not theirs either. Definitely Dutch landed in Australia way before the British. All has been cover up and dismantled to never be seen again

FYI it doesn't get stuck on their beak, it gets stuck on their bum on the way out. Mistletoe birds have a super-rapid digestive system (under an hour) which also helps.
The place he's talking about in the Tanami is here goo.gl/maps/97KEnGWvV3nb6CCP9 - his idea of scale is WAY out, there is no way that was man made.

They're diet of fruit , nuts , fish , constant moving following the seasons to feed . Their bush knowledge can't be replicated, Les Hiddins get close but by his own admission he's nowhere near the vast knowledge of thousands of years of continuous existence
