- Is there a way to change your TikTok region? The TikTok app has a setting for adding additional language in order to let TikTok know you want to see content from other regions and countries in different languages.
By default, TikTok will only show you the native language set for your TikTok app. But if you add other languages, you'll see other content on your home or For You page.

@@JBBurtoni2 I meant you cannot set it. It detects your location from the network. I‘m German and currently in the US and weirdly so, I cannot watch any Tiktok video here. I could when I was in Chicago, but later in Florida and now in Nevada the app remains black. And I don‘t see how I can fix that.
By the way, you see ads in Tiktok that want to sell you something? I never had that since I use the app. Regular iPhone.
@@mr.sonntagskindlein Other way, I've got a few companies that I'd like to run ads for. Since it's in euros vs. dollars it will make accounting efforts more difficult than they need to be so I wanted to change it.
It doesn't work. Your method works for those that want to view content from a certain region but this method will not show your content in that region.
You can do that by using a VPN
Did removing sim card and vpn worked for you guys? What do you suggest? I am having trouble trying to show my content to people living in US, but they keep getting shown to people from my local area

This video is misleading. I was hoping to find a video that shows me how to change my region as per the title but this video shows change of language. It isn't the same thing.

on settings i see content preferences i don't have where it says on video languages English
it says on my content preferences on top it says filter video keywords 0
and on the bottom it says restricted mode off

I live in GB 🇬🇧 and I used to get British TikToks on my for you page but since I’ve been using a VPN, my whole FYP is Southeast Asian content from Thailand etc 🗿 the weirdest thing is, whenever I’ve used my VPN, it’s always only ever been set to Europe or America, so where it’s getting Asia from I haven’t the foggiest clue.

Unfortunatly this is false info. Yuo will have to get rid of your SIM card (which exposes your actual location) and also use VPN.
After that, you wll then need to give it some time to "understand" you're actually in this position and then you'll need to keep convicning it you're still there.
I'd say you'll need a seperate smartphone if you're truely seriuos about this.
It actually worked, my fyp is English now and not French(I don’t understand French) but I guess if you want your content to be shown to English speakers then change your sim??? What if there’s no sim in my phone

Showing English FYP is not equivalent to wanting your own content to be shown for another country than where you’re located.
This unfortunately is the correct answer. It is impossible to see other content while your SIM card is there. In fact, if you got a SIM from Hong asking for example, TikTok won’t work at all. Have honestly no idea how this is legal but that’s NOT okay.
Does using a Wi-fi at my home but using vpn + no sim-card smartphone work at all? I am having trouble about this

This is not the Region, this is your Content Preferences.
Does not work do not waste your time. It's based on your IP. You have to use a VPN. The gifts do not change, the leaderboard does not change. Sorry this is clickbait
In order to actually change your entire tiktok account’s region you need to have been in whatever country you’re changing it to for a minimum of 30 days.

I started TikTok when we lived in Japan. I’ve changed the region to US and it says I have to be here 90 days. I’ve been here two years and still can’t see TikTok shop and stuff. Everything is in English and I see American videos but still get Japanese ads and no TikTok shop.

Not sure what this guys talking about. He may be right about "changing" your region, but using an API I can create am account wherever the api I'm using is set to. TT has no way of knowing which region you're actually in, only where it's told you are. I can tell you that the Chinese UI in app itself is almost non recognizable to the US version. Controls are the same but the content and many features are very different.

I have a real US sim and used a VPN and still it doesn't work. Has anyone tried a mock GPS app such as iToolab AnyGo, which changes your phones location to the region you specify. I was able to install it and was able to tell my android to accept the app to change my location ( by following the app's instructions) but I don't think I still using it correctly. Any help?

Bruh. it’s impossible to change the region. When I moved to Greece on vacation, I started getting greek TikTok’s on fyp. That’s like the only thing that works. I’m not sure but I assume tiktok somehow tracks and knows what country ur in.
They use your internet provider and phone number. Not you IP or localization data. Basically there is nothing you can do.

I'm living in Japan so I am getting all/mostly Japanese content and I assume my content I upload is only reaching Japanese people. This is False clickbait info. Tik Tik will just show you your local content in that language. Has nothing to do with regions, this will not give you access to content in the desired country.

I speak English and live in another country and I can 100% assure you now for over a month I've had only ENGLISH as my preferred language for content and I receive 0 content in English. It is all in the main language of the country I am living in, almost without exception. So this advice is 100% not correct.
