- Welcome to our brand new series Frame x Frame, hosted by @linusandhiscamera. In this series, we take one camera and pass it back and forth with one of our favorite film photographers. The guest brings the camera. We bring the film.
In this first episode, we're joined by Actor and Photographer @MikeGrayFilm (you may have also seen his videos around TH-cam). Watch as Mike and Linus shoot film in a colorful studio setting and Mike gives us insight into his world of and approach to film photography. This is going to be fun!

Okay so if Mike started film photography during the pandemic I will assume it was at the beginning of 2020. Then this video has been in production for a few months, so possibly at the end of 2021 is when this was filmed. That means that Mike has been shooting film less than two years and already jumped to Hasselblad. Damn. What's the rush to jump to high-end professional cameras?
I'll have to look in to some of his field work to see how it is. It's quite easy to get good results in a specifically crafted studio with props, lighting, pro models and pro camera. Perhaps a frame x frame episode in the field would be interesting.
I was surprised he got into it over covid, looking at his work I never once thought he’d started so recently!

Love this setting. I honestly would’ve shot with a digital camera and got more exposures and planned poses out with the models more so for full body shots. Just sayin🤷🏻♂️

28 minutes of two bros snapping pix and then talking about how great they are? I don't think I can take it. There needs to be some kind of unexpected element for them to cope with, like maybe alligators.
I feel like film works better in a less controlled setting that highlights analog textures and imperfections. This “IG-friendly” studio setting doesn’t accomplish that - imho 🧐

LA has so much great historic architecture, why don’t you just use the beautiful build environment of the city! It also seemed like you were struggling a bit with the camera, and you know we’re over the “Status” cameras…. How about some unique different less “name factor”
Please, just don't feature normative white skinny cis girls on every episode. Don't be that type of creepo shooting only this kind of pictures, pls cinestill...
