What an incredible place, thanks for sharing the history! That's something else you can do while you recover... running tourism? Show us beautiful or historic places to run! Pace/ distance doesn't matter at all! I do think you underestimate how much you have to offer runners even while sick. So many of us battle chronic issues, and are always searching for tips and motivation to continue this sport we love despite our own unique challenges. But I'm glad you've had an opportunity to explore volunteering more, too. When you were describing cleaning up nature of nature, I was like NOOO!! 🫣 😂 Like you said, It might be ugly to us, but it's food and shelter for wildlife.
Haha thanks Kelly! You're always so lovely, I really appreciate it! ❤️ I think I might have waffled on a bit here, but hopefully some of it was interesting 😅
Another great vlog Flora, it's as interesting and informative as ever! It was great to have your helping hands on our project with BART the other week. Thanks so much and for the great explanation of what we do at Mossy Earth. Good luck with your talk at Big Moose!
I love hearing about the history of the area! Canada is such a new country I don’t have areas like this near me. I’m an environmental scientist so the ecology aspect appeals to me as well.
Really enjoying watching your runs, even more so now you’re in the middle of recovery. After 2 years injury free, pesky shin splints are haunting me again, but it’s encouraging to see someone adapt their training and just accept where they’re at rather than sack it off completely. Keep going!❤
I'm always running down there and every now and again, I still find new random paths and places, so I'm not surprised you sometimes get 'lost'. Love all your history chat too, it's such an interesting place. The other week I found a memorial for an RAF Sergeant who died at that spot after bailing from a Wellington bomber in World War II! You will do brilliantly at your talk and I would definitely be interested in any future run club events you do 😊
I was fortunate enough to use these woods as my playground growing up and still get there occasionally. As such, it’s always interesting to follow your routes and work out where you are getting lost 😂😂
Oh amazing!! Haha 'lost' is a relative term I suppose, because if you run downhill you find the river again, but for a few moments I often have no idea where I am 😅
I’ve loved your videos for years Flora! Such a unique perspective telling us about your area and the biodiversity there. I also really appreciate your vulnerability sharing your journey with EBV. It’s so important that we accept running isn’t linear, but will be there waiting for us when we’re ready. I’m running Paris Marathon for the third time in April after a little hiatus from running, it’s a really beautiful course x
ahhhh Flora this was lovely and i'm SO excited for you doing a talk, I'm just gutted it's on a Thursday night in Cardiff so I can't come 😭😭(please do more if you can, would love to see you, I love listening to your stories on here) Aaaaaaand i've just seen that you'll be there with Nick Butter too, double gutted (he's fab, I saw him a couple of years ago doing a talk near where I live and he was so engaging). My top tip to you, just be yourself! That is more than enough and people will 🧡you! And for your social runs, also gutted to have missed that (i'm not on insta) but excited if you do more and a weekend would suit me best, would def make the trip from Oxford 😊 Obvs don't knacker yourself out though. x
Hi Flora, really enjoy watching your channel, such an inspiration for my first half marathon coming up. I’m looking into buying a pair of Sungod ultras. Which lens do you recommend for sunny/partly sunny conditions? Are you wearing the silver blue in this vlog? 😊
Are you still Z2 training? If so, do you think you can do an in-depth episode on your journey and how long it’s taken you to see results (if you haven’t already)? I’ve been Z2 training since December- my goal is to get to 12min/mi at Z2. My coach has been having me do hour-long runs and bike rides at various intensities, and longer runs on weekends with one day off. I can’t tell if this is normal, nor if I’m even making progress. I like that my runs are more chill, but it would be helpful to hear stories from other people. I feel like I’m working in a vacuum. Also have you ever trained while Cycle-Syncing? I know it’s a personal topic, but I find it interesting to see how energy, nutrition, and effort fluctuates during the Infradian Cycle. My coach trains me with this in mind, but I often wonder if other people have heard of training this way and how they’re managing. Anyway, thanks for all your videos! I have a pic of you running along sand dunes in my 2023 Vision Board to help me stay motivated for the NY Marathon, so all your hardwork does make a difference! 🎉🙏
I THINK it's for grey water/treated sewage 🥲 but looking online there's a lot of different ideas! It may no longer be in use thankfully, but there is a bit of a sewage problem after lots of rainfall in this part of the river (like all rivers in the UK sadly)

Sorry to hear you're suffering a bit at the moment! Hope you're back to it soon 😊

Really nice little running vlog as usual :) and thanks for the Mossy Earth shout-out! Glad you did finally make it along to one of the projects.
Good afternoon. Interesting history's place. Step by step.....!!! Road to the Paris, Flora!!!!. Like from Spain 🇪🇸. A nice week for everyone.

@@FloraBeverley . Hi. I am ok. !!!!The running is Freedom!!!!
I am too obsessed with my strava heat map and remembering my runs as well!

Running back & forth on the flat bit is a training hack I can get onboard with😂
No need to wish you luck for the presentation Bat Girl, you'll smash it. 🦇
It WILL get drier ! Eventually :)

Interested. Based in North notts so maybe peak district could be good?
🙌
Would love to join your run club but I'm not local, sounds lovely ❤
Do you know what the large pipe is for at 19.40? Have seen it a few times in your videos and can't work it out

what running vest do you use / recommend? thank you!
Salomon vests are really good. I find a 7L one sufficient for most races. :)
