When wiring up the controller's power supply (120 AC) is it common to put the controller on it's own circuit or just reuse/pull power from some outlet near by? This part I can't see to figure out.
In Australia the controllers simply plug into a 240v 10amp power socket.
No separate fuse required.
Which cable for Controller 230v ?

Thanks for the question. I don't fully understand the question but ill try to answer. We use 0.5m2 multicore cable from the controller to the valves for runs up to 100m. With regards to the core, you'll need the number of valves + 1 (rounded up to the next cores). ie 7 valves requires 8 cables. So I'd get 9 core.
How about adding more zone. There is no enough wiring for that
It's a good idea to install a few extra wires in case you plan to expand.

are there gel connectors that allow you to wire up 5 stations + the common ? the ones used in this demo say that only 2-3 wires can be fed into each connector, which would mean only 2 stations + common for controller is that correct ?
Nice, thanks for the info. I do have a question re something else though - I need to add more lines to my current system to be able to water a new lawn and I have a spare pump sitting in the garage then the plan is to install the pump in order to boost the pressure a bit run fewer lines. The pump itself is a CentriPro MP (8 bar max pressure). I researched a bit about it and apparently I need to install a 24 VAC Relay bit which I am not sure how to. I run a master valve which is rated for 1250kpa and my normal valves are for 1000kpa so I was wondering if I'd get away with not using the 24 VAC Relay bit on the basis that the valves would be able to withstand the pressure from the pump while they are closed? I've tested the pump already, it turns itself off as the valves shut off and comes on again as they open. My only concern is that the pump takes a few seconds to 'realise' that a certain valve has shut off in which case it keeps pumping 8 bar against it and I guess the others which are not in use too.
Do you plan to run the pump from a storage tank?

@@veryclint Thanks heaps for the quick reply, I appreciate that. I do have a tank but it's not properly set up and needs some repair so at the moment I am just running everything ( master valve + 10 normal ones) off the mains which I only get around 400-450kpa. My controller is an Orbit Easy Set Logic 12 station. In the future, once the tank is sorted I'll run it off the tank which will get topped up by the mains as required during the hot months. Cheers.
