    Oh Pete!
    What a masterful tractor reassembly in this video. I really enjoyed learning about the assembly by functional groups step-by-step. I am now catching the bug for these tractors!!!❤❤❤

    LOL!😂 I do not know why I found it so funny when Pete put the “coups de grâce” of the lever knob on and said he didn’t know they had knobs till he started restoring tractors, all the tractors he ever used never had one on it!😂😂😂. I was driving in my truck listening and almost had to pull over I was laughing so much! 😂🤣😂🤣😂😅🥹That’s comedy folks, and that dad humor is just one of many reasons I love Pete, his family, farm, and all his amazing animals. Keep up the good work Pete, look forward to the next episode 🎉

    This is very much not an app on your iPhone. How fortunate some of us are to have and remember those implements of "old". The people of "old" got it done. These red tractors show respect to our heritage. The work ethic, values and requirements of those days probably encourage the homestead longings of today.

    Hi Pete, I know that it's a lot of work doing resto work on these old tractors but to me watching you working on this venture is very fascinating and i'm sure rewarding to you. these day the tractors and the quality of the build, will bring a high value to any one that you redo. Great job.

    Most of my family worked at the International Harvester foundry in Louisville, so I am an IH guy, but what a convoluted mess. Ford and Ferguson really had IH wooped in the hitch department.

    • @tractorsold1
      @tractorsold1 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Ferguson had patents on the 3-point hitch, and only licensed it to Ford. Everybody else had to do something different from what Ferguson did, so the patent lawyers wouldn't have fodder to chew on. Farmall and Case came up with different 2-point systems that could also connect to 3-point implements. Allis Chalmers came up with an inverted system (third point on the bottom) with horiizontal pins that were a PITA, then replaced the pins with thier Snap Coupler design; still required removing the drawbar. And OBTW, they were all trying to convince customers that they had the superior design.

    We enjoy your enthusiasm and detailed explanations in these restoration projects. An added benefit for us lazy people, you do all the research and boil down the interesting applicable historical bits into a concisely scripted format that fits within the video timeline. Nicely done on many levels. 👍 Perhaps one day your kids will realize what a treasure these videos will be in the future. 👍

    You're doing such an awesome job, I think I will bring my 67 SS Chevelle to you. I bought it in 1970, drove it while in high school. Parked it around 74. It sat in New Mexico for 30 years before I decided it was time to restore it. Brought it to Houston and got it torn completely apart. After a few years, I got the frame and suspension brand new, got the underside looking better than factory and then had to put the body back on the frame due to divorce. It sat in storage for another 15 years and my new wife said it was time to finish it. Got it back to my shop and didn't get much done before hurricane Harvey flooded our house and we lost nearly everything we owned. I did get the mud washed out of the body and most every where else but it did ruin the engine. It has been sitting at my son's house now for another 6 years while I have been rebuilding my house... And that is why I think I should get someone else to finish it if I ever expect to get a chance to drive it again...

    These old tractors aren’t filled with the computer technology of today’s machines but they sure had a lot of parts to make them do the different things the farmer needed to do their work.
    I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about with these different components, but it’s still interesting watching you assemble and restore these old machines that built and fed America so many decades ago.

    Pete you should get a hard line bending tool. That eases the way in making new fuel and breaklines. It should not be very expensive. I got one and it helped me a lot in getting the right bends. Before that i used a wooden towl to bend. That hitch is very complicated for its day when they made these. Also the PTO cover on the old Belarus 500 that i have worked with are 90% of the time missing or a mangled lump of steel. Rarely see on still in a good shape.
