I was nineteen years old when this song broke onto the radio. I had a delivery job, and I would drive all over the city, listening to the radio all the while, so every time this song came on, I heard it. Man, if only I could go back and spend a day in my old life.
It was the same situation for me but the car was mine !80’s was truly magical, unbelievable and unforgettable, music fashion and culture they was better than today! But sorry I haven’t a De Lorean car to come back in that decade!!😅😜👍🙏
I was 20 and stationed on Camp Geiger ,North Carolina, when this was released . Unforgettable times ,and memories. When we're living in that moment, no person could convince us that we would desperately long for those days back. The 80s were awesome, and I'm thankful for the experience.
this was th era of true music...the peak of the music, quality in every single aspect and then, after 90s was falling down into shape of these days, pure sink hole
as a person born in 2010 really darn wish i was born in the 80’s. there were no phones for people to be distracted with and the music was great!. i just wish i was there for that
It was a fantastic time to be alive. We witnessed first hand the digital revolution. Imagine walking up to a girl and asking her out and she'd say yes (hopefully!) and it was normal and you wouldn't be labeled a creep because there was no other way to ask LOL. We had better paying jobs in this country, we still had a level of respect and common courtesy that you don't see much anymore. Things moved slower but at the same time I don't think 1 out of 3 Americans was hooked on barbiturates, benzodiazepines or opioids like we have today.
True, but correction.. We're pulled back into reality. It doesn't matter the year it's from or the current year, or anything in between, this song transcends time itself. Also, remember that this song was written and recorded before they knocked down the Berlin wall..
I was a nipper back then, and watched Countdown every week - always hoping my favourite artists would come on (either "live" on stage or the video). TFF have always been my all time favourites! Apart from the nostalgic 80s stuff, music really was a big deal back then because you either heard it on radio or tv, or you had to go out and spend good money on records or tapes. These days it's just a commodity you can stream for free whenever you feel like it which makes it readily accessible (which is cool) but also a lot less special.
A fantastic piece of writing .. brilliantly sung and played These cool dudes still rock this classic piece in their 60’s It is a great combo of deep meaning and rhythmic nostalgia
How is this crowd not just losing their minds? One of the best songs of the century and they're (ostensibly) hearing it for the first time. If I could go back to the first time I heard this song just to feel that unadulterated awe....man. So cool to see this!
Great musical song writing...... amazing song .. this song got everyone in the mood before they was going out and when they was out on a saturday or friday night in the Uk , infact the whole world in the 80´s ......
I was born in 1997, and I would give anything… ANYTHING AT ALL to live during that time period. No phones, normal society, and this band playing this song!
La mejor banda de los 80s, sin discusión. Y tal vez la mejor canción que haya llegado a la radio en los 80. Cada disco traía dos o tres joyitas. Incluso los de los 90s, cuando Roland Orzabal quedó sólo llevando la banda.
Tears for Fears definitely one of the best bands and they are touring right now 2023. I hope they play in the Connecticut area because I will definitely go see them. Songs from the big chair is one of the best albums of all time..
I’d like to thank my dad for showing me the way to great music. Early morning paper route 🗞️ the things you don’t notice in the moment, that amount to meaningful memories.
I would live my life much much better in the 80s, no phone and social media that destroys it. This is perfect. Im 2009 but i still wish i was born in the 80s fr.
Classic off the 80s ❤❤❤❤

kind of the same. I was in my sophomore year in high school, and I didn't realize that girls were easy
lol, this !
Freshman in high school.
Little did they know that this AMAZING song would transcend decades.
It doesn’t get any better than this. The best of the 80s.
its pre-recorded lol
@@mam362 Still a good 80's choon, if you like that kind of thing lol

Really?? That’s so crazy you’d give up the most important things in your life
I remember riding in my mother's car in March of 1985 and this song came on. Love it.

Top 10? Lol
Im Brazil this band left a mark in a entire generation. 80's forever .
E pra completar eu nasci nesse ano... 1985.. Marcou várias gerações mesmo...
One of the best "riffs" ever at a start of a song...you know right away what this song is as soon as it comes on...legendary group...
I always think this as well , the start of the song or riffs unreal takes me back an to that girlfriend I was with at that time 😊
I was born in 85, and I only have a few memories from the 80’s. But I can tell you, 1985 was a special year for music.
So was I. In 85 great things came out
I was 24 years old, and working in the Pacific Amphitheater and likely they play there in the 85, was amazing!
this was th era of true music...the peak of the music, quality in every single aspect and then, after 90s was falling down into shape of these days, pure sink hole
There can never be music like this today

It's a pop band from the 80's.
@@pelleohpop rock. Aslo, Tupac in the Rock and Roll hall of fame.

Their lyrics were ahead of the 80’s and very fitting for today!
Just wrote that.
I know. The lyrics for Mad World also are fitting for today.
What do the lyrics mean, anyone, please?
@@SphereOfTheEarth I think pretty self explanatory.

One of my favorite albums of all time. This song immediately has me turn up the volume and brings me back to summer , driving a convertible ! Genius!

This is the greatest song ever created. As relevant today as it ever was. As sublime to the ears as it is epic in existential scope. AMAZING
Absolutely brilliant live performance back then! Thank you Countdown!

The musical personification of the 80s. I’m soooooooo jealous of anyone who was alive to experience the 80s. I was born in 1992.
