Iirc, if you are in an evade spot, but are getting ranged attacked (at least by spells cast) by a monster, each second spent that way counts towards the mob resetting, that's why that leash on Gazz'uz was 'short'. I think I may have actually had a Scarlet spellcaster reset while blasting at my character in SM reset spot, even though he still had mana left and didn't resort to melee AI.
Guzu saying the level has nothing to do with the leash.. someone needs to watch Calamity's video on leashing. Or did he and just forget? There is a lot of nuance to the leash mechanic, though. The distance away from where you pulled the mob isn't as important and how LONG the mob chases you. If the mob stops at any point and hits you with a melee attack, that also resets the leash timer and will keep them aggro'd. So you don't even have to keep attacking for a mob to keep chasing. If you keep stopping and letting it hit you, it will reset the leash duration. Which I think is an interesting tidbit most people don't know.
Mobs evade if they cant find a path to reach you, unless if they are ranged. if they are close so they can hit you then no need to find a path, same goes for ranged attacks, unless you also LoS them, then they evade too. The right play in this situation could be to jump out, run away a little, then nova and run back, so they are not in melee range at the safespot.

@12:26. Only fight monsters that are 2 levels below you. Above all the orcs are really dangerous. Should take +3 levels higher. This is not a walk in the park thing. Of course he dies he is lvl 18.
Guy DCs 7 times in a row the second he tried to take a step. Guzu even points out that he already DCed 7 times. Then question him why he keeps jumping, if it literally kept him from DCing and was is only chance to survive. This guy was actually a genius to stay calm, find the issue why he DCed and then adapted instantly to only move with jumping to avoid DCing. Disabling Addons might have worked, but it also takes time and he kept needing to login just to keep him alive between DCs.
I had the same Problems with DCs many times in HC. Lucky for me i was in a group. For me the problem was with the addon "Rested XP". I realy love this addon in wotlk classic but on hc the disconnects killed it for me.
gotta love potatoblizzard with potatoservers and ppl rushing in like they have some chance to hit 60 without a full group (that's what makes stupid official servers beat the addon, you have 4 gimps keeping you alive or killing the mob instead)

I'm loving these hardcore death and near death reaction videos. They make great videos for breaks and lunches. Pretty sure the DCing issues in hardcore are from mod errors, as I've been using none and haven't had a single dc. It's the same cave that exists in like 20 other spots in the game, and safe spots all have a couple of pretty similar characteristics. It is perfectly reasonable that he would find that safe spot without having done the quest before.

It´s not even a good strategy in HC to aoe stuff down as a Mage, one resist from the frost nova to keep the adds in place for Blizzard and you´re toast.

@6:45 - Those d/c are the addons that are having issues. Large volume of errors, creating lag that is causing the d/c. The game is responsing by shutting down. Should have let the char d/c when on full health, turned off the add-ons, than relogged about 5-10 mins later. Would have logged in to low health, but mobs would have reset. @13:20 - Lesson learned: ABPs - A = Always B = Be P = Paying-Attention @14:35 - Gotta say, that one is on Hazel. She had healthstone up, didn't use it. @15:50 - "Hey! You're going the wrong way!" Dude is so close to the dungeon entrance here. They would all have made it..
Nobody is going to think about taking the time to disable addons before logging out while their character is actively dying. Most of the times they dc'd, they would have died before they got back in if they had disabled addons.

The paladin logged back in that many times and never once clicks addons and the disable all button on character select... 😮
Nobody is going to think about taking the time to disable addons before logging out while their character is actively dying. Most of the times they dc'd, they would have died before they got back in if they had disabled addons.
