What a powerful Documentary. Thank you for this.
I feel sad for the children who lost their parents.
My mil lost her father in that war. They never recovered his body.
There are nearly NO docs on this war. It's a tragedy as this conflict drug out for nearly a decade. Chemical weapons, ballistic missiles, human wave tactics....the ferocity and brutality of this conflict was unlike anything the world had ever seen! Ty making this documentary!
Iranian people never wanted it, Iraqi people Never wanted it. it was imposed on both of them from third parties. Beni Sadr realized that and accepted an end to the war just after 2 years but Khomeini made a coup against him so the war won't end.
Changing history inline of lies and making a French $p¥ a hero..

When writing about past events or, in today's common way, making "TH-cam" video clips, it goes the wrong way because the writings are never viewed as much as the internet videos. Okay.
Let's take a look at our writing again. You mentioned "Bani Sadr" as a person who wanted to end the war that started between the "Islamic Republic" and the "Arab Baath Republic of Iraq" in the very beginning months of the war!!
Isn't there room for wonder and questions? "Bani Sadr", a person who started his relationship and closeness with "Khomeini" since the second half of the sixties, and officially collected money and funds for "Khomeini" and also received some financial assistance from He was receiving.

This documentary renewed my wounds and pain and made me remember the most miserable and sad years of my life more this film made me cry from the beginning to the end This is the suffering of all Iraqis and Iranians who lived through that period. I was 13 years old when that damned war began. Before that, we were a happy family of 7 kids and my father and mother I did not care much and did not know that after three years I would be part of that war. They involved me and my family in that war. At the age of sixteen, I joined the revolutionary movement against Saddam Hussein’s regime in 1985. My father was killed, and after that, my older brother, who was one year older than me, was killed. My family was displaced and became refugees in other countries. I was wounded twice and lost everything, myself (my future), my family, and my country. Finally, I became a refugee as well. Until now, every day when I remember those years and the damned war that was imposed on us, I cry a lot. I cannot forget. I have been completely alone for 35 years. I sleep during the day and wake up at night so that I do not see any human being. The war made me a person without a goal or a wish i have no hope، No one from the governments, associations or people cares about our generation and what happened to us. We burned in order to light the future for the generations who came after us.
I've never seen something that makes me think deep like this in a long time

Powerful, brilliant, it's really a work of God that brought these men together again, to heal and reward them for their humanity in that brutal war. You can feel God in the filming, beautifully shot. The scene of the diving boy is a masterstroke. I cried a few times with the men. Thank you.

You are true believer who understands Islam and the mercy of Allah.
Believers shall not wage war against each other and the law of war and conflict and resolution of conflict is clear in Quran.
It is easy to blame third parties but the ummah had a role to play in resolving that war and it has failed, and it is failing again today to save the Palestinians and Muslims, and all oppressed for that matter.
It is more than the failure of believers, it is the failure of human. Allah sent the prophet Muhammad to all human and gin. This documentary helped me understand a bit more, and I am sure it did help you too

Amazing stories. Very powerful and very well done. God bless them both.
My uncle was forced to volunteer in the Iraqi army by his father in 1977 when he was a teen, 3 years before the war, just because he believed his son was living a carefree life, that one decision by my grandfather made my uncle lose 4 decades of his life, he fought on the frontlines of the Iraqi-Iranian war then the Gulf war then the 2003 invasion where his unit joined the Republican Guards last battles then the army dissolved but as soon as the army was reformed he couldn't stay a civilian and went back to service, fought Al-Qaed.a and then the civil war and he was forced into retirement at the early stages of the I$I$ war, after all those wars this country didn't even give him his pension because of corruption, its been 10 years now and on top of that a loan which his pension should've paid has gotten all his assets frozen, he only got married close to his retirement so he has no children, he could've had them but stayed loyal to his wife, but his wife divorced him over a small disagreement 10 years later, I always wondered where all his misery started, I guess it started here in this war.
Amazing, made me seriously tear up 😢

Any news about Alia and Amjed? Are they still alive?
Most likely, he will never find them because Najah did not marry Alia officially, documented by a state contract. Therefore, Alia will not be able to register their son officially and issue an identity card for the child with his father’s name. In Iraq, relationships outside of marriage are absolutely rejected, so Alia often moves to live in another city to start a new life, especially since The city of Basra was at that time a war zone and was subjected to severe, continuous bombing. Very great difficulties were facing Najah, and I do not think he would find them. Even if he did find them, he would not be able to announce that he had found them due to their new situation in addition to the reality of Iraqi society, as I mentioned previously it's so sad story ...
