FINALLY SOMEONES TALKING ABOUT THIS TYSMMMM!! I love kpop but the beauty standards are just horrible, I wish we could all just foucous on idol's skills and stop picking on their appearance!! Jeongyeon deserves sm better, I hope people will stop hating on her for her weight and just love her for how skilled and kind she is!!
jeongyeon is just as unhealthy as wonyoung and any other underweight kpop idol, she is fat now and she wasn’t underweight before her weight gain- she had a normal bmi weight so she didn’t need to loose or gain weight. also y’all call her “healthy” now but then say that she gained weight because of her meds, which isn’t healthy. medications can’t make you gain weight because they don’t contain calories, excess calories are what causes weight gain (any professional or just anyone can tell you this, you don’t need to be einstein.) just taking it doesn’t cause weight gain but the side effect of it screwing your hormones and maybe making you hungry is the reason for the weight gain. if jeongyeon had lost weight from her meds y’all would call it “unhealthy”, but since y’all are too afraid to talk about fatness- you just call her "healthy"
She’s taking the meds for her health. How she looks as a result of the medication can’t be controlled. The thing with adults is that our bodies don’t remain the same as when we’re teens and in our early 20s. You don’t know jeongyeons bmi, you don’t know how she eats, you don’t know how much she exercises. She could very well be undereating and she won’t visibly lose weight, cause your body doesn’t change the way you want it to because you will it to. How you want her to look is not the same thing as what’s healthy for her. Whether you find her attractive is not her problem. You don’t know how others people’s bodies work, so don’t criticize or try to give advice to anyone else. Focus on what’s healthy for your own body
Did your really say medication can't make you gain weight? Yall just talk without doing basic research or having any knowledge about medicine. Google what steroids in medication can do to the body as a side effect. Being uneducated isn't cute
Korean beauty standards are insane, but I see people in the comments saying that it’s not our place to criticize because we are not a part of Korean culture. To that I say that just because it’s a part of their culture doesn’t make it okay to bully people. Racism is also a part of other cultures but that doesn’t make it okay. We can acknowledge that Korean beauty standards are insane, without hating on Korean culture in general. Especially when Korean celebrities are committing harmful acts towards themselves because of these beauty standards. Even Koreans themselves agree that the cultural beauty standard is impossible to obtain without cosmetic surgery. So much of the beauty standards foster feelings of inadequacy and self hatred. We can appreciate Korean culture but disagree with their beauty standards, and to think that you can’t is ignorant and harmful.

Look man. This is entertainment industry. Money matters. Looks matter. What is so hard so understand. For jeongyeon she has medical reasons. Thus she can be defended from fat shaming. And if u think a fat person can do a choreo in the same level as a thin person u are lying to yourself
A thin person might not do choreo well if they don’t have enough energy from starving. Im visibly thin but I bet there’s people bigger than that can are better at more physical activities than me. How someone looks does not dictate how skilled they are or how much effort they put into their health. You think thin people are better at dancing because prefer how they look, it says nothing about how they actually execute the dance
@@dotcom3015 I am not talking about any extremes. Jeongyeon danced much better before her weight gain. Wonder why. Too skinny or too fat neither is ideal.
@@Yumedekissmeee no she didn’t, she’s always been one of the lowest ranked members when it came to dance and stage presence in twice. I’m Asian and I can tell you that the beauty standards are not eastern culture, it’s eastern media. Asians might be biologically smaller or thinner, but not that much.
