I picked up the cold steel recon tanto 7" for 29 bucks. No complaints so far but i don't mind putting a edge back on it everytime I beat it to death. And yes I live in Texas 🤣💪🗡

What a price though. Pretty solid bang for your buck.
I have an original carbon V version, way better steel and with a saber flat grind. Amazingly sturdy sharpened prybar combat/survival tool.
The new SK5 is tempered too hard IMO and prone to cracking/chipping, especially in cold weather, and the hollow grind makes the tip much weaker than the original. It has Poor geometry for woodworking/bushcraft, but the edge can be profiled more acutely to help.
My girl loves the Carbon V SRK so much she basically forced me to gift it to her. Now I'll have to get my hands on the 3V version as a replacement :)
I think I’d like your version a lot better, because I definitely felt underwhelmed by this SK5 version. The edge geometry definitely isn’t my favourite, so I could see me completely reprofiling it eventually.
Hell yeah the SRK. Your Reviews are the bomb.. I own the San Mai version. It's a freak. A throwing video would be awesome.. and a HOG apocalypse rating.. lol...

Spoiler alert: the SRK’s apocalypse rating might not be as high as I thought. Throwing non throwing knives doesn’t always go well for the knife 🤷🏻♂️😂

Nah I edc mine, right on my belt with the sheath tucked in my front right pocket.. damn good quality knife for a cheap price.
I'm in PA in the USA tho, small town with a lot of hunters, so maybe that's why I get away with it, without anyone batting an eye at me
