He is very biased towards city, never rational, cannot take criticism, he's too loud, and he just jokes around too much. His laugh used to be entertaining, but now I am just finding him increasingly annoying. I rarely find myself agreeing with anything he says either. I genuinely think he only got the punditry job due to wokeism as a diversity appointment. I can't see why else he would get hired on Sky Sports.
If you were an overrated, poor footballer who is also a poor pundit too, what the hell is that person doing on Sky Sports? Why not have Andy Carroll, Scott Sinclair or Aaron Lennon on next as a regular pundit!? That's the point I'm making. At least the likes of Carragher, Neville, Wright, Keane, Henry, Lineker, Souness, Shearer, Alex Scott etc were great players. Richards wasn't a great player so he has to be a great commentator then like Kamara, Savage, Redknapp etc, but Richards isn't either. Him and Owen are the two worst pundits.

Pep’s philosophy is based around possession retention, players who are quick on the ball who receive a pass, take one or two touches and then release. Pogba is the opposite of that type of player. When someone shows you who they are, believe them. Pogba's been showing you who he is for the past few years. Top sides aren't bringing people in and hoping they can pull off a big transformation job with the new player. Carragher's got it right and the other two have got it exactly backwards: the player earns the right to play for a top side with their body of work. The job of the manager should be to make it easier for the player to do things they've shown a desire and ability to do; NOT TO GET THEM TO DO THINGS THEY'VE SHOWN NO DESIRE OR ABILITY TO DO.

Skill will never be more important than teamwork, for me. Pogba can be great (if you think he is), but if he's not willing to work as a part of the team, then what is the point to have someone who can dribble a lot and then not plays for the team. This is not futsal, this is football. You have to play with the rest of the team. You lose the ball, you immediately go back and do the best to get it back, not staying in the ground, jogging and then feeling sorry. He's done that for years now. Many of the opposite side teams have scored goals against Man Utd for his mistakes. For me, that's not a United player. That's just someone trying to make a name for himself until a better option comes along. Just look at how much Juan Mata have done in this last couple of games, compared to Pogba. Yes, we've lost with Juan, but we've lost much more with Pogba. He can be world champion with France, but that's a whole other team and circumstance than playing for United weekend in and out. If he wants to leave, be my guest. At least, that's what I think. And finally, if he goes to Man City, that will tell you everything you need to know about what he's looking for right there.

I agree with Carra on Pogba for sure, but there will be no losers if he goes to City, it doesnt matter if he does well at City or not, and if United sell him they can replace him with someone more consistent. Win-win

Redknapp saying "Hasn't he shown glimpses?" After 6 years in the league being hyped as one of the most talented midfielders, you'd hope he would have done significantly more than shown glimpses. Absolutely awful player for City to sign, he does nothing better than everyone city already have in that team, and free transfer would just mean more wages or signing bonus

I think the Pogba criticism over the six years he has been in English football is more a reflection of English culture than on Pogba as a player. The English appreciate hard work over technical ability and this is reflected on the fact that English football still doesn't have a midfielder who can enable the team to keep the ball and dictate the play as well as managing the game. His languid style gives the impression that he doesn't work hard enough.
Statistically, he has given greater output at Man Utd than when he was at Juve. Never got to double figures in goals or assists at Juve but got to double figures in assists 17/18 and goals in 18/19. He just doesn't meet the English stereotype of a midfielder.
It hasn't helped that he has been in a period when ManUtd have been in a state of flux and instability. How can you explain a midfielder who is a nailed on starter for the best national team in the world being supposedly "poor" and worthy of all this criticism? He is not the only Utd signing to have gone to Utd and struggled for consistency. The club hasn't had a proper playing style and recruitment strategy and I wonder why all this is ignored when assessing Paul Pogba.
He is a world class midfielder who signed for a team that didn't have the structure to get the best out of him in a way that emphasises his strengths rather than leaving him exposed.

I feel like in the modern game you have to run your socks off (look at Sergio aguero 1st year under pep vs the year before) but midfielders especially.
Also there’s almost no excuse to not work hard at this level. You can do it for the fans, the manager, the club or the paycheck, but the point is you need to work hard.
