The dress is absolutely adorable! And it looks like you had such a fun time making it.
You don't need to justify sewing whatever takes your fancy, and you never need to apologise for showing fabric that hasn't been ironed! No one's judging you. ❤
Thank you so much Chloe. I had so much fun making this dress for her. Sewing is the best hobby when you have these creative ideas and can bring them to life!
Such a lovely recreation of Princess Charlotte's dress.
Thank you Katrina!
You have every right to be delighted with your dress it is amazing!! You have a real talent Amelia. Your little girl is so lucky to have such a special wardrobe. x
Thank you so much for your very kind comment. I love sewing for my children so much! 💗
Absolutely gorgeous! You should enter this beautiful creation into every challenge it qualifies for. You should feel so proud. Congratulations!
Thank you so much Renee! It was so much fun to make this one and I loved seeing her wearing it too. I will definitely enter it into all the challenges!
Wow! Such a beautiful dress and I want one for myself! I love “distracted sewing”. It is fun creating something you have been inspired to make. I also just finished a dress for my daughter. She is 22 and she chose the fabric and pattern for her graduation dress. She had a HUGE smile on her face as she did fittings and the dress that was in her mind came to be! She is so happy and loves her new dress! I am entering it in the selfless sew and recreate the look as she had an inspiration dress. My plans happen to over lap with the challenge. I don’t usually enter many challenges. This video ( as well as all your videos) is very inspiring and encouraging. I enjoyed watching your creativity and sewing in action. Thank you for sharing! I want to recreate this dress in my size!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I bet your daughter looked absolutely beautiful in her dress. I really hope my children keep asking me to make things for them as they grow older. What special memories to make together! Thank you so much for watching.
Such a beautiful dress! I am so glad you took us along through the process. You showed us that we can create anything we set out mind to, as long as we are patient. I love your channel! It's so aesthetically pleasing💕
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I am so glad you enjoy the videos - I did particularly enjoy sewing this one really slowly and carefully. Thanks so much for watching!
You are an incredibly talented sewist! I love watching your sewing process and all the garments you make! This dress is a dead ringer for the inspiration dress!
Thank you so much Tammy. It was so much fun having a go at recreating the original dress. Such a joyful make!
It's such a sweet dress! And your daughter is lovely in it. She's grown so much since I started watching your videos!
Thank you Natalie. She is growing up too quickly!
Just beautiful Amelia, the fabric is gorgeous and your attention to detail is amazing. Thank you!
Thank you so much Mary. It was lovely to sew all the details in this dress.
Hi from Canada... Very lovely sewing and I subscribed...I sewed like this when my children were this age ...now my granddaughter is 7 and has her strong ideas of things she wants me to sew....its so nice to have a little Princess to sew for
Beautifully designed and executed ❤
Thank you Caron!
Oh my goodness, that dress is divine! I'm sure that will be a treasured heirloom for your daughter ❤
Thank you so much. I really hope she treasures this dress. It was such a joy to make!
Wow it turned out beautifully such a pretty dress xx
Absolutely beautiful Amelia! You daughter is a lucky girl 😊
Thank you so much Annette! I am so blessed to have my children and it is so lovely to be able to sew for them.
Beautiful!! Thank you so much for sharing your process!
You have reminded me of the joy I got from sewing for my daughter when she was young. She is 33 now.
Your little girls dress turned out beUAtiFUL!!!! I also love this style of a little girls dress. It's just so classical. When I saw the other little dress hanging in the background, I was like....she is teasing us having that hang there. Lol. Then there was another one hanging there the next shot as well!🤭😂 I can NOT wait to hear all about them. Noticing the one matched what you had on.☺️
My 2 yr old granddaughter was over this week and she kept saying dress, dress. She led me to the sewing room because she thinks I keep dresses in there for her. 🤭 She goes in there when I fit her for dresses and tries them on. I thought that was adorable. Made my day!
Looking forward to seeing ALL your April makes!😊
Oh that is the sweetest story! Your granddaughter is so lucky to have a grandmother that sews for her. Every time fabric arrives at our house my daughter asks if it is for a dress for her! 🤣 Really looking forward to sharing the other dresses with you soon - it has been a busy month!
Wow Amelia, what a beautiful dress for you daughter 😍
Thank you Breda. It was such a lovely dress to sew!
I absolutely love that ⅓ of this video was just on the decision making process! It's my favourite part of sewing but is often skipped in videos. I want to know it all! What inspired you? What patterns did you consider? Why'd you choose the fabric? Great video!
Amelia you have created such a beautiful dress, and I so enjoyed on how you designed the little dress and the modifications that you made. Beautiful handmade clothes made with beautiful fabrics will last forever (with good care). 👗
Thank you Allison. I really do love making these dresses as carefully as I can so that they will stand the test of time!

What a gorgeous dress!! ❤ I’m a beginner at sewing and I want to make my 4 year old daughter a dress and this was so inspirational! There’s no way I could ever pull this off but it was so satisfying to watch! Thank you!
I hope your dress making for your daughter goes really well! Little Lizard King and Peony Patterns are great places to start as their instructions are so good. They also have really helpful Facebook groups if you need extra help.

Thank you Mara. I really enjoyed sewing this dress for my little girl.
I love this little dress! So pretty and clever well done!! I nearly bought the peony pattern but decided I had the lee dress and it was close enough. I have since got the little lizards version so maybe I can have a go at recreating this too. 😊
Thank you so much Chloe. I hope you really enjoy making your dress if you have a go at it - I think the Lee dress pattern could work well too, you would just need to lengthen the bodice a little. Thank you so much for watching!
Gorgeous dress! Well done - you have got it exactly and i love that Liberty tana lawn print. So pretty! Diana
Thank you so much Diana. I really loved making this for her.
Beautiful dress and you did a brilliant job recreating.. WOW.. Love it..

Thank you so much Antonia. It really was such a joyful make.
Wow! Just beautiful 😍
Thank you!
That's a lovely dress! ❤
This is my next project for my 2 years old daughter. 😊 I found a similar pattern from Simplicity and she chose her own fabric (acufactum cotton) and style. I've never tried making clothes with liberty fabrics, but maybe for next time.
It takes a lot of time making clothes but so rewarding.
She's already looking forward to helping me sew her dress. 😊
Thank you so much, I hope you enjoy making your own version!
The dress is beautiful, fit for a princess ❤
Thank you! It is definitely a favourite of hers.

What a beautiful dress. It was lovely seeing your process, it has definitely inspired me. I would love to see how you do a lined bodice when the dress has sleeves. Thanks for another wonderful video.
Thank you so much Yvonne. I am really glad you found the video inspiring. I will try to film how I insert the sleeves in more detail next time I make a dress like this. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely beautiful 😍 ❤

Beautiful dress, your sew creative!!
Thank you so much Cheryl, you are very kind!
I love the dress and think you should make a matching one for yourself for Mothers Day. You would be able to wear it to other mothers, daughters events as well. Teas and such.
Thank you Nathalie! I have enough fabric left over to make a little shirt for myself which I will probably do as I cannot stand seeing Liberty going into my remnants pile!
Just beautiful x
Thank you Doreen!
So lovely Amelia. Very impressive
Thank you so much Claudia!
Hi hope you are well
Love the dress n seeing how it was made
My style of dress but my big girls are in 40s

@@sewamelia watch all your programs my one granddaughter is Tom boy
Have I missed you making winter coat in herringbone fabric or u started hand sewn dress for little one?
Such a sweet dress congrats
Thank you so much Robyn!
Swoon. The dress came out beautiful.
Thank you so much Sonia!
Lovely dress Amelia. For a completely different look you could replace the ruffles with gathered edging lace. It would be a nice contrast to the white in the fabric, just a thought.
Thank you Donna. That is such a great idea! I might do that when I make this dress again. Edging lace would look so beautiful!
Oh Gosh! you've done a stunning jo oaths adore little dress. That print looks like the Liberty Mitsi print - I had some in a teal green colourway that I used to make a dress for my youngest daughter when she was tiny (not a classic square yoke bodice style though). Thi is very much an heirloom to be put away so that your daughter can one day put her own daughter in.
Thank you so much! It is the Liberty Mitsi - such a lovely print, isn't it! I really hope it might get passed on to a grand daughter one day!
So gorgeous! You have done an amazing job! X
Thank you so much Clare! It was such a fun project to work on.
Beautiful job ❤
Thank you Carol!
So beautiful
Thank you so much Lorraine!
Beautiful
Thank you!
I have a book called Sewing with Whimsy by Kari Mecca that has a very classic dress pattern included. It is by the Martha Pullen Comapny
Thank you Kathy. I will look this up!
lovely
Thank you, Michelle!
Absolutely beautiful, I used to love sewing for my daughter but she is all grown up now but I still make the odd thing for her which she loves. The pleasure never leaves you.
Oh, that is so lovely to hear! I hope I can sew for my children for many years to come.
This is so beautiful! And I love that you did not use a serger - I was wondering how seams were finished! What fabric is that? I did not see it in the description.
Thank you! I love finishing these garments without a serger. I used a Liberty tana lawn to sew the dress up. I can't remember exactly what the print was now though!
Boutique Casual for boys and girls buy Sue Kim has many multisized patterns for boys and girls with the classic little puffed sleeve peter pan collar dress. It's called the Charlotte
Hi Amelia, the Butterick 3762 is a fairly good match and could easily be hacked to suit 😊
That looks perfect - thank you! It seems to be a vintage pattern though - maybe I can hunt it down on Etsy!
It is on Etsy but I found my copy in hobby craft if that helps ☺️
Would love to learn more about the liberty fabric dresses. I’m sewing for my grandkids. Sorry my name is Calvin
You did a Beautiful job! You have permission to change paths Anytime you want to!😀😀
Thank you so much Dara!

Hey! May i have the pattern for the dress hanging in the background at 13:35?
Sure! It's the Little Lizard King Avonlea dress
@@sewameliaThanks for sharing! I would be glad if you could upload that pattern video❤
Simplicity s9245 is a good pattern
That is such a lovely pattern - thank you for sharing!
This isn’t quite the right pattern for what you are looking for, but easily adaptable and very cute!
Thank you Menna. I had fun hacking the pattern until I got the result I wanted.
