Your first long term bike will always be a special one. I am forever attached to Speed Triples because of this. My 2003 was wrecked by a granny making a uturn and my 2012 found its way back to me after I sold it (I got a letter from a wrecker the other owner ditched it 4 years ago!) so I went to pick her up and now I think she has to be a forever bike.
I think it is a good looking bike. Solid built, enough power, enticing sound and assurance brake. Above all; it is comfortable. I was trained on this bike and I can't delete the memory I had with it. It's a keeper. Enjoy your ride mate.
I also learned to ride on a CB650R, and my instructor chose an empty bit of road on the way back from the Bike Agility Manouvers terrain. He would release the thunder from his R1300GS at the lights but this little 650 could keep up if you let it scream like a MotoGP bike. We would both be grinning like idiots after that short ride, and we both knew all the students would be addicts after that little stunt. Even wearing the learner bike drop bars, the CB650R is gorgeous. That golden quad exhaust manifold is like a medallion on the chest of a war veteran.
It really is a unique Japanese moto. Easy to ride in traffic but winds up sounding like a race bike if you drop down a couple of gears and will keep many litre bikes honest. It looks beautiful, it’s comfortable and very versatile. Brakes are brilliant, front suspension is awesome - for the money but also regardless of budget. Only thing that could be better is the rear suspension but again, for the money it’s unbeatable.
@@FreeMilesMC the only thing i can bring up is for a fresh student of the art of riding, the throttle is very sensitive (for any other bikes we've learned on, or even compared to the one i bought for myself, which is a husqvarna svartpilen 401). But yes, i can't really say anything really negative about it.
@@anxietydisorders5917 well, i did get to see a tree from closer than i wanted to, but that was still in the parking lot practice days. i am gettign used to it now. :D
I work at a Honda dealership and I can speak from experience, the CB650R is always sold out. Anytime we get a 650 to hit the floor, they're gone within the week. I myself am a Royal Enfield simp and got an interceptor 3 weeks ago and love it. If I were to make payments on a bike, it would definitely be the CB650R. Such a fantastic bike and the other big three Japanese can't even compete with the 650 regardless of what yammie noob says
I would love to see a review on the Honda CB650R updated 2024 model with the E-Clutch and all the bells and whistles, and compare it to this model and see if the new model is an improvement. Amazing review!
Sadly I‘m too tall (and old) for this bike. The four downpipes look so nice, and the engine is great. The CB650R is not only restricted by a new mapping, it also gets smaller air intakes. The A2 version feels identical to the unrestricted version in the first two gears, including the slight inline-four-powerband at 7500 rpm. Third gear is ok. But gears four to six just feel gutless and out of breath. At least the Euro 5+ version (2024). Nice color, wonderful seat upgrade! It definitely needs a tail tidy, though, and maybe some micro rear indicators.
Hi Miles! It was a blast having you over, you are always welcome back at my house. 💪🏼 For the people in the comments feel free to ask any questions about this bike or the experience. Mods that are going to be done soon: - Change of tires - De-restrict + open exhaust + dyno tune - Tail tidy - Indicator change Let me know if you’d like to see the results and wish to be kept up-to-date.
Awesome review and ride of that amazing Honda CB 650R!! It’s a whole lot of bike in a small package, and it’s a Honda which means safety, excellent build quality, reliability, low maintenance and longevity!! It will definitely get you around town in a hurry! However, the only downside about this review was your mention of LeBron James (not a fan) in place of the “Real” G.O.A.T Michael Jordan!!! But, I will give you a pass on that this time. Outstanding video, thanks! 😁👍🇺🇸😎✌️
@@RollWithSoul317 every kid in school had his jersey even if they never dribbled a ball. Different times back then. I just moved outside of Chicago after being the victim of several crimes (one of which being a motorcycle theft), it’s a shame the way the city is tracking now.
@@cowmath77 I can relate to your story 110%!! I left NYC after spending my entire life there to move out to the country in Maryland bro! I gave up the Skyscrapers, Overcrowding, High cost of living, Traffic and Crime, for Cornfields, Country Roads, Friendly people, my Dodge Challenger and Long Rides on my Honda Rebel CMX1100 DCT! I am still trying hard to get acclimated to the country lifestyle, but it was the best decision I’ve ever made, so I can totally relate to what you’re saying! 👍😎✌️
Hey brother! Owner of the bike here. Currently running pirelli angel GT II’s they should give a little more feedback than Michelin road 6’s hence why I chose those. Loads of great tires out there so it comes down to personal preference but the michelins are unbeatable according to the reviews 😉
I test rode this bike a few days ago, the full, 95hp unrestricted version. I also took my girlfriend along. On the plus side, even with a 50kg passenger, the suspension was nice and handled bumps well. Its a good looking bike and its fast. Also the e-clutch system worked great, like a quickshifter even for when you stop. However, she said the passenger seat was very uncomfortable, the position was very uncomfortable for her, and i did a pull from 30 to 100km/h in 2nd gear and it was stupid fast, especially for city use. Almost too fast, or maybe i am too old for it (i'm 34), i see no use for such power, maybe for young racers only. All in all a good bike, well priced for almost 100hp but personally it wasnt for me. Good video!
Yes the rear seat does not look comfortable. And yes 95 hp is a lot. For me it’s the maximum that can be somewhat justified on the street but only with a lot of delusion 😂
Would love for you to come to west Carolina and ride. Its beautiful here. Id let you review my transalp for the channel, if that helps justify the expense.
