- The ESCO Wallet from Tampered Trail Outfitters is the most functional and easy to use wallet I've seen all year...so far!

Pulltab - nice.
Rivet snap - nice.
Hand stitching -nice
Billfold - nice.
A lot of good things. Very tempting.
I hope you do !
That’s actually the best wallet design I’ve seen in a while, adding it to the list of must haves👍🏻🙂
It really is. This one took me by surprise
Thanks Crispy, great review! Love the lighter colored desk/table top, sure makes details easier to see. Very cool wallet, thanks again!
Thank you so much for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I did have that colorway on the site ( Ember) but it is sold out. I add variations as I have the materials to make them. It's just me working on them so I don't want to oversell and create long wait times.
I'll be adding custom options eventually. Once I have the means to be able to stock materials.
I ordered one what is your turn around time on these ,thank you very much
Great looking wallet. Seems to be very practical and functional. A no nonsense wallet. Perfect. Great review Chrispy. 🤘🏻
I’m loving the direction some of these leather workers are taking their designs. Very well thought out, and will get even better over time.
@@ChrispyThings I couldn't agree more.
It reminds me of my current wallet from JJ leathersmith the Lucas
I really like that design but I wish there was a way to not have the little piece hanging down on the right side of the flap. Maybe I missed the purpose of it but it seems like it would catch on things.
It was just a design choice. I wanted something that wasn't what most people do for a flap.
I haven't owned a leather wallet in a while. I have been using Ridge, Xsto, and Groove Life wallet for years. Might have to pick one up I really like the functionality and love the colors they have on the site. Great review!
Thank you Trevor! I hope yoyvare loving your wallet!
I’ve had the “As seen on Tv” Slim Clip and been using it for about 15 years!! No one ever talks about that one
This is the sort of comment I hope to see 15ys from now about my designs. I hope it serves someone for decades !
@@temperedtrail
I doubt it …. Leather wears down fast. The slim clip is stainless steel as long as one doesn’t over extend it. It will last forever. Like i said … 15 years later I’m still using it that says a lot about a product. No way you can do that with a piece of leather.
@@temperedtraildo u know when you’ll be taking more orders?
Thanks for the great review! Just wondering how secure the extra folded bills would be with the 5 extra cards. Any way they could wiggle out?
Nice design. I would order but have a JJ Leathersmith on the way that I’m very excited about. Great review!
Nice!
I have a JJ leathersmith as well and I love it. Best wallet I've owned and I have a lot of big name wallets. I just ordered this one so I'll let you know which one I like better in a few weeks. It's gonna be hard to beat the Lucas from JJ leathersmith
ESCO needs to update their website. When you choose different colors for the wallet, the picture does not change to show exactly what it would look like.
Have you done a review on the calibur wallet? Maybe I missed it?
Really neat design - very refreshing from the norm! Seems like he designed this to solve problems from his own experience - very cool! Maybe a couple minor things:
1. Curious if that short portion on the front flap becomes a snag point? I wonder if a diagonal flap from corner to corner would work better.
2. Stuffing bills into a pocket without one side remaining open can be a bit clumsy in my experience.
I'm very intrigued by this one;
That’s exactly right. He made the wallet to solve issues, such as accidentally locking himself out of his house, so let’s create a place to store keys. Lol.
And I’ve thought about the flap while carrying it. I thought maybe round out the leather to conform to the button better? But with this style of flap there’s always a possibility of getting snagged while putting it in your pocket.
@@ChrispyThingsI thought the same thing about rounding it out. I think all the “sharp” corners would aesthetically also look better rounded.
As always.. great video. I so wanted to like this Wallet but I just don't know something about isn't working for me. Not a fan of the flap cuts .
Keep em coming buddy!
Sorry to hear that. Maybe another design of mine will catch your attention when I get the designing itch and make a new one.
What color is that? I see 4 colors on the site with 4 wallets
Nice wallet. Wish it was better looking in the outside
To each their own 🍻
@@temperedtrail No offense, but this wallet looks almost perfect if it didn't have the clasp and instead of closing that way it was a open wallet.
@@ermal6157 I prefer the clasp. It secures the items inside the wallet. A better peace of mind.
Sad that it can't be sent out to Singapore.
Anyone know if this thing can handle Yen?
I really like that leather tray, from where I can get that one. I am sold Subscribed :)
I believe that’s from Battlefield Custom Creations. I have so many sometimes I get them mixed up.
@@ChrispyThings thanks for prompt response.
The only problem I found is that it's not RFID protected but nice video as always
Almost all theater wallets aren’t rfid protected unless they add some sort of aluminum lining, which for me cheapens the wallet.
Grab an rfid card, slap it on top of your stack and your good to go.
👍🏿😎
15 or 30? Wich is it?
Minimum 15 * , up to 30 if you really stretch the capacity.
Nice design and functional however being that the leather weight is thin, looks kind of flimsy and not sure it will hold up over time
That Pueblo will out live you. Lol. The stitching would go before the leather falls apart.
Just try to rip that leather as hard as you can with your bare hand........I am sure the leather will still stay in good condition before you give up ....... :)
I've been using the same biker style leather wallet since 1997.
That’s awesome! I bet there’s a great patina on it
As soon as i heard made in the US, i thought this is going to cost like 80 dollars, and yep right on the money
For sure top 10 2023. Maybe even top 5. Not a fan of pull tabs. Maybe put a a thumb slot to push up the cards. So it's more refined
The thumb slot would make the stash pouch unusable since I'd have to cut through it.
@@temperedtrail Just cut a small half circle opening to make card access easier while you are able to retain the pouch function because it is quite deep. It also helps to reduce the thickness of the wallet too.
Sorda like the JJ leathersmith but better imo.
Thank you so much !
Would be 10x better if the card portion was open on 1 side to put cash away easy. All these wallets that you have to stuff cash from up top are just an L in daily use. You cant put cash back in whiteout having to take the entire thing out and then again trying to scrunch it back in.
If you use cash every single day for the majority of transactions, then no this isn't the greatest option. I don't tend to use cash all the time, even when I do I have no issue putting cash back in. I designed it to be able to slip a single dollar in. Which it does once broken in. It's a trade off for a specific purpose and it's not for everyone.
@@temperedtrail its just easier to go through the cash, take it out, and put back cash that way. No matter what sliding a bill between 2 bills unless they’re crisp bills makes them bunch up as someone else here also mentioned. I really like the rest of the design though
@ValFinale if my wallet intrigues you. Keep an eye on me. I got something in the works 😉. Thank you for sharing your comment. I'm taking what people are saying to improve things.
