    This is truly a MasterClass Tutorial. As a very mature woman I have to say this is a look I would never wear but it looks gorgeous on you and is quite differant than the "5 minute makeup" videos I watch as well. I had no idea who Sabrina Carpenter is until now.

    Ok! I have watched you struggle forever with your up close vision issue, presbyopia. I am 74 years old and I had a procedure done when I was in my late 40s. It is called Crystalens surgery. this procedure is an intraocular corrective lens which replaces your original eye lens to give you corrected vision both up close and at a distance. This is not covered by insurance unless you have cataracts and already have to have a lens replacement then you just pay an upcharge for the corrected lens. This has been an absolute life changer for me. My younger sister just recently had this procedure done and she is ecstatic. There are newer procedures, one of which is called Alcon PanOptix trifocal lens. I do not know which procedure my sister had nor do I know anything about the newer procedures. The Crystalens was the first approved intraocular lens with both up close and distance vision. I would definitely check it out because as I said it is a total life changer. Good luck I just couldn’t keep this information from you any longer as I watch you struggle. Best wishes, Carolyn.

      Yeah, I wish I had that option available to me when I had cataract surgery 10 years ago, but it was out of my price range. My boss had it done and she was very happy with it.

      So glad that worked for you!! Do you have to refrain from rubbing your eyes -- i.e. in the inner corners not directly on the eyeballs, I never do that anyway. But like in the inner corners do you have to keep from touching there etc ? ❤

      Don’t ever give up on a shimmer. You can add pop like she has without overwhelming the eye with it. Usually shimmers become an issue when you have a very crapey lid and pack on the shimmer. Dusting of it always bring light therefore attention to the eye while making the eye look much more interesting.

      I'm 54 now, and I also refuse to give up my shimmers, glimmers, glitters and foils. I have very hooded eyes and those formulations bring light to my eyes. And... it just makes me happy!

    You are so talented and kind for sharing it with us, thank you 😊

  • @misssunnydee
    @misssunnydee 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    I still have no clue who Sabrina Carpenter is, but I love this eye look (but I won't bring my blush down so low. Blush below the nostril can make you look older - as it does me)! I can't do the liner like Michelle because my eyes are too deep set, but I'm certainly trying the rest. I'm heading towards 50, but ever since my mom made me let me pick my own clothes as a kid, I've given zero F's about trends and nowadays I laugh at the idiotic 'rules' for us well preserved ladies. Bring on the colour, bring on the shimmer!
    You do you, ladies! Don't listen to the ' barely out of leading strings'- beauty bloggers and influencers. Nowadays, they consider women closing in on 30 as already standing with one foot in the grave, so they're morons and don't know sh*t. We know best what makes us pretty, what makes us *feel* good - and that can be ANYthing.
    Now, forgive me, I gotta go. This gal needs to buy some E.L.F!😂

      @misssunnydee
      LMBO🤣 I wear what I please ,when I please!!! I love all the available opinions oh the
      "HOW2 OF MAKEUP " But honestly Not a single influencer out there who knows my skin, my features, and all the undertones I deal with
      We are all quite litterally the best artists of us!!!
      Shimmer, glitter, bright colors Wow ! Bring it, im ready 2 strategically play artist on my own canvas!! This is how a woman who dresses and does makeup for herself feels ❣️

    • @misssunnydee
      @misssunnydee 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @melanieadorno8813 And you look amazing while "doing as you please." 😁 I've had makeup done by others according to certain trends or 'rules'. If I was lucky enough not to walk out there looking like a frigging clown, something else was wrong. Do you know how many people who say they're MUA's have no clue what to do with a deep set eye? Or a very pale, almost greyish cool toned skin that's super sensitive and Sahara dry? I can even count the ones on social media on one hand...
      The ironic thing is, that ever since I embraced my own style, taste and the experiences of what it takes to make my personal canvas look good (or at least not as if I'm dying at any moment), I get compliments *whenever* I leave the house. Always, without fail.
      Sadly enough, many of those compliments are followed by "I wish I dared...", "I wish I could...". (Guess what: only women say that). I always do my best to convince them that they can definitely create their own version of what they complimented. The most important lesson is in embracing yourself, warts and all, and to not follow trends "just because". It can be fun to follow fashion and beauty, especially if it's a passion. But doing what's 'in', applying makeup a certain way "because everyone else does it, so it must be good/will make me be accepted" isn't the right path, and will rarely lead to feeling good about yourself. Self- care is crucial for one's mental health, and taking care of your appearance isn't a superficial act but an important part of that. Did you know it is one of the very first things a psychologist will advise and correct you on as part of your treatment plan when you're severely chronically ill or newly handicapped and interred in a rehabilitation centre*? That says enough. (*At least in many European countries).
      Of course, I convey this message in a less direct way (unless my gut tells me that it will be accepted and/or even appreciated). Usually, I just tell people my journey and how I came to my own vibrant and 'out there' style (lol, I just realised my profile pic is of the only black dress I own 😆). How necessary it was to realise that my makeup placement needed to be different from magazine tips and influencer xy and z nowadays. Or that I love seeing runway shows, but have adapted the 50s style to everyday looks - sometimes incorporating current fashion when I like it - because I feel sexy and feminine in the style when I go for more Hollywood glam & pinup, and on the other hand always smile and feel happy in the often funny novelty prints of rockabilly dresses. Not to mention: 50s clothing emphasizes a woman's body, always, so I will always have a dress that suits my body to pick & choose from. I'm sure such a style that calls up these positive emotions is there for everybody. In that same message, it's also important I let them know I, too, have struggled (still do) with insecurities, self-esteem, and body issues. But looking in the mirror and seeing the style that truly feels ME, and then getting those compliments every time on top of it certainly helps me. It just goes to show there is no "dare", or "could" involved. Everyone CAN, and everyone deserves.
      Sorry for rant numero 2. It's a topic that's near and dear to my heart, and that got even more important when I lost my health (and everything after as a result of that). As a chronically ill & handicapped person - I'm wheelchair bound - I'm being marginalised constantly. Looking good either gets me nasty comments like "If you can look like that, you're probably not thàt ill after all," or surprised faces with an "why do you still bother" attached. If I can convince even ONE insecure person or other marginalised member of society, they're worth it to invest in themselves and follow their own preferences, then that would make me really happy.

I just feel like whenever I do it, I end up messing up all the hard work I did on my eyeshadow. I absolutely love the way Your Eyes turned out, but I’m curious what the amethyst was for since it was completely covered up by the end. I’m not giving negative feedback about what you did. I’m just trying to find out if it’s a necessary step to get this eye look because I would like to do duplicate this, and I’m not sure if I need it if I can use the elf black pencil that I have to just create that shadow defect that you did with the chunkier pencil?

    Great video! Could I ask, how do you feel about women shaving their faces? Any after affects from doing this? I have blond peach fuzz around the mouth and lower jaw but only likely visible in my mag mirror.

    I used both the glowy ELF sunscreen and the invisible one. I liked them both. My new obsession is SuperGoop tinted SPF 50. I bought the shade 22W and use it as SPF and base color. It feels great and lasts a good amount of time. I do need a concealer. I’ve also been doing the Aquaphor too. I love this look! Be well!

    I think using the smaller size brushes for the face are so much better.

    Good Morning - I live in rural Ohio and the Elf Soft Glam is not sold at my local Walmart. I looked for it about a week ago and they didn't have it but they do now. I still like my Wet and Wild Photo Finish Dewey Foundation much better on this 67 yo face. Congratulations!

    My eyebrows are exactly like yours. The one is long and has a nice arch and the other one is short and I’m always trying to get them to match and I just feel like I keep adding and adding and by the time I’m done I have these thick eyebrows and then I have to take a Q-tip and wipe them all off except for a thin line. I found that that precise brow really does help me. I have the one that you have as well in the white and I use that when I’m up big hurry, but sometimes I look at myself in the mirror after doing my eyebrows with that and it just looks like so much but that’s because I don’t really have any eyebrows other than, a few strands that allow me to shape them but they are clear or gray

    Hi, I've just found your channel, and I love it so much, so I have subscribed. I was wondering what you use to remove your makeup. Sorry if you have already done a video explaining it. Best wishes from 🇬🇧

    Just wanted to drop in and say that I have been watching your tutorials for a few days and thinking you reminded me of someone else SO much and I finally figured out that it's Mary Steenburgen--specifically your voice and cheekbones! Anyway, you're lovely and very helpful! ❤️

    Can you comment on the Elf and Biore SPF’s - are they compatible under Seint makeup? What’s your go to for economical SPF for Seint? Thanks, Michelle!

    Hi Michelle, question,, with seint, you recommend darker shade for mature skin. But with liquid foundation do you recommend a closer match? Or still darker??

    I liked the Soft Glam foundation but Seint has me spoiled. Nothing looks like it does. I got the eye primer to try too. It was good, but I think I like the Milani better. I would love to see a neutral look with the satin foundation. This is a gorgeous look.

    Always bronze your neck. When we get older because our necks get wrinkly and crepey, bronzer helps camouflage and slim that area.

    Just getting started watching, but elf does have another sunscreen good for those of us with a more oily complexion. Its the Suntouchable Invisible SPF 35. Also acts as a blurring primer.
