I've been watching rallying on and off for most of my life, but every time I watch videos like this I'm still always struck by just how damn cool rallying is. Guess it's time to dust off the sim wheel again.
I love how comically skinny the snow tyres are, to try and cut through to the surface underneath. It's like it's driving on four of those temporary spare tyres.
Honestly spending the weekend trying to beat your time has been great fun. Definitely the best ad for the game. Hopefully I can get close by the end of the weekend. Only 25 seconds off...

just to throw it out there, default setups are sooo loose on the differentials, its so wonky to drive compared to just throwing those sliders a good chunk to the right.

I must say that the last couple of days, I've done rallying, and it the most satisfying motorsport when you get it right, but the worst when you crash.

Rally car is like remembering your first love and getting a warm bitter-sweet feeling. Have spent hours and hours and hours on Richards Burns rally back in the (Windows XP) day. I think i still have that installable CD somewhere.

Jimmy, could you try Automobilista 2 again? They had a lot of new updates to fix tire models and the physics engine and also the FFB. You should definitely give it another go, you won’t be disappointed. (Try the Brazilian Stock Car, it’s really fun)
I *think* there is some time to be gained by sliding and angling the car a bit more on sharp corners. That was the whole reason 4WD crushed RWD back in the day.
Swedish stages are well hard especially if you’ve not been on it for a while, takes me half a day and 1 million quit and retries to find the consistency needed for fast stage times🤦♂️
Some time ago they didn't have simulators, just imagine doing this full speed after just a (few) exploring ride irl and do the rest based on this audio directions.
