Very surprised you don't have a small 12V /110 cooler for the van. I keep one next to my drivers seat, great for drinks, snacks and cheese! Forget the cheese, has a freezer mode as well, would have filled it with fresh Tillamook ice cream!! I removed the 12V adapter, hooked it up directly to the battery with a inline fuse. Battery on solar system and charged by alternator when driving.
Thank you! I scoured their website looking for parking information without luck, I'm quite relieved that there's plenty of room for our RV.
Hi Russ ! That was cool seeing the inside of the Tillamook Cheese Facility.. Really done up well for the tourist.. and , I bet they make tons of money selling their products right there... Nice and Fresh ! Nice Video ! Talk soon !
A favorite summertime evening meal is two or three ounces of good cheese, a selection of fresh fruit, some kind of bread product and sweet mango chutney.
Get the cheese curds and then go north to Bay City and get jerky at the Tillamook Country Smoker. Oregon also has Bandon Cheese, made by Tillamook but up along the Columbia River. Driving the Gorge, you see the Moo Mobiles (milk tankers) hauling Tillamook milk over there. (There are dairies over there too) Bandon Cheese was on the southern coast at Bandon but they were bought out by Tillamook. Great cheese too. Yes, the cheese curds are the best. Been there 3 times since the remodel, not near as good as before. We really enjoyed the temporary digs during the remodel. The dairies themselves are independently owned by the dairymen, not owned by Tillamook Cheese Factory. The "Factory" is a farmer owned cooperative, same as Darigold and many others here in Oregon....James

Great video Russ. I buy Tillamook cheese and ice cream in Michigan at the Kroger store. Now I've seen where it's made. I like places where you can see the actual production running. Always looking for food safety violations as that is what I do at work lol.
Ok, that made me hungry. I have the wrapped 3/4 oz snack size of Tillamook medium cheddar. Yum. Yes, we had to stop on our way to Portland OR. If I was going that way again, I'd stop to buy cheese. It's good stuff.

Hi Russ! That looks like cow country. Beautiful green pastures. I had a friend who drove a milk tanker. I would bounce around the back roads of NH with him occasionally. I was always impressed how the process works. Every farm is tested before the milk goes into the truck. Very clean and sterile. You're 1238 miles from Quartzite, but a whole world away! Stay safe out there! We need you for this adventure!What fun!😀🧀
Just north on the highway is Tillamook county smokers the best sausage sand smoked salamis.
They have the best stuff. Love their cheese and ice cream! One day I want to go there. It’s beautiful. Medium cheddar is my favorite. Thanks for going in
Love the factory tours and the sample rooms at the end! Sometimes the shops have nice discounts and versions of the product not available in the retail stores. Thanks for stopping there and showing us the tour.

What did you think of the total remodel of the place ? Yup its way bigger they completely redid the whole place inside and outside . Did you get some sqeeky cheese (cheese curds)? and pepperoni sticks I bet you didn't. we😉 go there quite often i love it there ...

haha if u pause at 2:20 that really big building flat roof is fred meyer the other one below it is goodwill and then the 2 story looking building to the right of the goodwill is a hotel my work did, we re roofed the ashley inn hotel, stayed there all week to, i dropped my phone off that roof to it fell out and slid off the roof but still worked.. haha..

Most of the cheese is made in Boardman nowadays.

They actually don't own any farms it's all farmer-owned though.

I love Tillamook cheese Just like you Russ.. But I'm more about the Sharp Cheddar myself. It's definitely on my bucket list to head up there someday so thanks for the tour. I'm glad you did this so now I know I need to find other things around Tillamook to see and do... You know what else I'm glad for Russ?

I could go back again and again if those cheese prices are good. Years ago we bought a few bottles of wine from the winery. Then found it later in the day quite a bit cheaper at the liquor store 😂 Nice little tour they got set up, such a beautiful place.

Boy, they sure have changed the place since the last time I was there. They remodeled it. Now I don’t have to go in it. Don’t “Cut the Cheese “ at the Tillamook Cheese Factory.
