what a masterpiece film.
The music is amazing. The choreography is spectacular. The acting is superior. This film checks all options that would make an Oscar film, and from how I see it, it IS one.
Mandy Moore choreographed it, it can only be spectacular
Anna A Agreed.
It's probably not the Mandy Moore you're thinking of btw
Spaceway Films Couldn't agree more.

I will forever be depressed that I couldn't go see this in theatres
Same 😥😥
Saw this today though!
I was able to see it a few months ago for the first time in a theater because some movie theaters have special events like "Musical Mondays" (which was the case for me) and I was able to enjoy it on the big screen for the first time. It was a dream come true!
@@TheSponge71 Lucky for you
@@alexfzg9936 You should look into it. It might be that there is a showing near you and you don't even realize it (that's what happened with me.)
This film is officially my favorite film of all time. I’ve seen it 5 times and it totally deserves that title for me. I literally can find nothing wrong with La La Land. Director is phenomenal. The actors and the chemistry between Gosling & Stone is impeccable. The cinematography is out of this world. The music and score is amazing. The way this film ends totally defies the tropes and cliches and I respect the risk Chazelle took. Just a film that I will continue to expose to those who haven’t experienced it yet. You do not have to be into musicals to enjoy this. I myself am not a huge musical kind of guy but La La Land is just on a whole different level
Literally could not agree more and I hate the fact that I never saw it in the cinema, but I will definitely try and find a showing somehow
So true, La La Land is also my favorite!! I've seen it like, 7 times and I wish I had discover it before. It makes me so happy everytime i see it
How does ANYONE learn to play the piano that spectacularly in three months?
Donna B. Practicing only one piece. It's how I can play Claire de Lune and everything else I can play chorded or not at all.
Donna B. he could always play piano, just not to the level of Sebastian
3 months with "professional guidance" is enough or i would say that's a lot of time
Donna B. After a piano class, I'd guess he also practiced about 1-2hours in his own time, too. So that's pretty much possible and it's fair to say that he's talented. Had he been having a tuition in his early years, he could have been one good musician.
you cant trust me
Honestly one of the most incredible films I've ever seen. Deserves an Oscar hands down. It's a movie that can't be over hyped
No doubt my favorite film of 2016, maybe one of the best movies to come out in the last 5 if not 10 years, and by far one of my favorite musicals of all time
micky darson report
Damien Chazelle is a genius!
and also Justin Horowitz. :)
This director is an absolute genius! What a fantastic movie! 💖
Finally! TRUE TALENT. Brilliant, bright, HAPPY film. I LOVED this. These two should be getting Oscar's. The entire film was stunning...'-)
I actually thought it was a pretty melancholic film, which I appreciated. It's starts off relatively upbeat and joyous, and then becomes progressively more introspective and downbeat.
I don’t think enough people give recognition that this was Damian Chazelle’s THIRD movie, the other two being a film he made in college and fucking Whiplash. This dude truly is the world’s next master filmmaker
Totally agree, this man has created 2 masterpieces in a short period of time. Cant wait to see what he has in store for the future
Fax the man is brilliant
Gosh I looove B Roll footage... you get a whole other view into the picture... a dream
Also the moment when Emma is walking in the blue dress staring into our souls masterpiece
j Masonn oh gosh I'm a dude and I had to cry :(
The way she's looking at him 0:14-0:23 awwwww
j Masonn I knew exactly what look you were talking about before I even checked the time stamp lol I noticed that too and couldn't stop starring at her. Do you know if she was actually in that shot during the movie or was it just Ryan and John? I would love to know if she was just acting or was genuinely that infatuated with him. If she was doing that for the shot I'm highly impressed. I can imagine I'd be difficult to replicate that type of gaze.
Kyra Leigh I wanna be looked at like that
Kyra Leigh and I seen I bad quality of the movie so idk if she was looking at him like that in the film
She was not in the shot, she only appears when Sebastian and Keith finish talking. She did it probably to not get out of character and keep the concentration on the scene.
Klaus Bentes she's a good actor I love her
1:04 one of the most magnificent scenes
My favourite musicals:
1. La La Land
2. Phantom of the Opera
3. Les Miserables
4. Greatest Showman
I am struck by how YOUNG the film makers are. I put off watching this movie. Not sure why. When I finally did, I was completely taken in.
the traffic scene must have SUCKED in LA since the normal traffic is already an absolute nightmare ahaha
Damien Chazelle said in an interview that they blocked the traffic during 2 days, Saturday and Sunday, lmao
oh god i don't want to imagine the result of this. On screen definitely well done but real life?
The final product also looks like it was filmed as one take, quite impressive
I have to say I saw this last Sunday in London on my own, Loved it. What an inspiration! A true masterpiece and a great team effort. Thanks to everyone concerned. I am boring everyone by telling them to see it.
the most incredible film. checks off everything i love in a movie: fantastic cinematography, amazing cast, great use of colour. can't be overhyped.
an amazing movie at every level. As the wife of an amazing entertainer And a person who has loved musicals for many years I appreciated it at many levels. I can't wait to see it again. It deserves multiple viewings. b
this movie is absolute phenomenal !!
this is my favorite film
A modern classic. Thanks for making this film.
i rewatched this tonight for probably the tenth time haha so i just had to come watch this
Wow awesome thought bro......
I'm a simple man when I see Damien chazelle , I click
How did this not win best picture
wish Damien could be my literature teacher for one day😂
0:06 that moment when you're in the wrong film
the music and the concept were great but what really made the movie for me was emma
jeeeez i know i'm gonna have to deal with my crush on her the next four months
My boyfriend & Ryan Gosling's side view is so similar.. it's so creepy.. feels like I'm watching my man on screen XD
Uma obra de arte, nunca esquecerei como esse filme me surpreendeu é lindo, imersivo e aspectos técnicos e atuações incríveis além disso passa uma puta mensagem linda poxa, vai virar um clássico com certeza 😍😍😍
That director Damian is the most intelligent human being on earth
was so eager to see this
then saw the director on a chat show
...... is it one of those speedy sitcom type flix?
It is nothing like a sitcom. It is one of the most magical movies I have ever had the chance to experience. I seriously recommend going to see this in theaters. Words cannot properly express how amazing this movie is. I saw it at a film festival, but it comes out in theaters by me on friday so i'm definitely going to go watch it again and maybe 5 or 6 more times.
Go watch it and tell us if you cried at the end
Royce Thomson I didn't like how they weren't together in the end though 😂😂😂
+Millie Nol Don't be an asshole and spoil the movie smh. Hate people who do this.
Stephanie Chia No swearing,please..there are children on this app.Hate people who do this.
so they were on the real traffic wow i thought it was green screen
FROSTBITE 2769 All real. Real people and dancing and props.
yes i know all was real but that traffic just awesome :)
they blocked the whole road for two days, and shot the scene over that time
Love the analysis
0:07 What's the FF7's crew doing here?? Did you see that?
I think its just a crew member that also worked on FF7 and is just wearing the shirt. Thats usually what it is
Me flipó toda.
Very interesting. Thanks!
Somehow I allowed myself to be prejudiced against this movie and only wound up watching it last week. Man, was I misled! This movie is a masterpiece!
Love this flim 😍😍
CE FILM EST GÉNIAL!!!
if the musicians are recording the song in the scene of the minute 2:10 what was the reference for the actors to dance if the actual song hasn't been recorded when they were dancing in that scene? someone please explain that to me, im an idiot.
César Delgado The behind the scenes from that part shows that they had a rough cut of the music, with draft singing included. They must be working on the final cut here. The composer said he wanted to include instruments or sounds that matched what was going on in the scene.
Why does the crew at 0:07 wearing Fast and Furious 7 TShirt ?
la música es espectacular.
кажется, я умру, пока дождусь премьеры в РК
xaxaxa
Could anyone tell me what song is playing during 0:00-2:58? It's so beautiful, but I can't find it :/
It's one of the major themes of the movie called City of Stars. The characters sing a duet to it. Although in this version, it sounds like it's been slowed down ever so slightly.
we have a winner
During 0:01-0.05
The crew guy had fast and Furious 7 shirt!
It's scary how much Ryan gosling looks almost exactly like my ex. Never realised that before this film.
Macy Maria T you're so lucky omg
Want him back now?
What version of the song is played on this video?
City of stars😥❤️🍇
Just as Avatar this movie is OK, it's good, but not the greatest thing ever. Give it time, watch again in 10 years and check if it still holds up.
chapeau!
Hi guys, I did a cover of "City of Stars" from La la land and I'm french, I wanted to know if you could hear my accent ? And if it was good as well hehe, I'd love to hear your opinions
jumpscare at 8:27 thank me l8ter
Anyone know the song ryan gossling plays on the piano?
Eiffel Meyer I believe it's Mia and Sebastian's theme
Eiffel Meyer City of stars, the main theme
Ok thank you guys!
ub
I would love to see what he can do with Leo DiCaprio!
Film was too white
Talk about overrated. It's a good film, but honestly there are so many extraordinary films out there, Leviathan(2014) is one of them, with not nearly as much praise. It's a film that is created to be entertaining, and it does it well. But the best film of all time? Not even close.
Why you want to effect .these ppl
Ryan's way of acting, or lack of acting is showing as little as possible.
Horrible, not much bts at all
Gosling was miscast in my opinion. No emotion.
I hate
