You may enjoy the arguably best one person vocal/instrumentation cover of Little Blue, as even noted by Jacob himself in the comments of the video.
It appears Devin Mooers is one of those talented individuals whose journey hasn't presented the opportunities that others have gotten or taken along the path, and you wind up in your 40s with the demands of a family and the unrealized dream of being an artist or film composer and then you hear Little Blue and are moved to give it the full Jacob treatment in your own style with hundreds of tracks and playing all the instruments as well as conceiving and filming it all.
Hope you enjoy it, as I'm sure Devin simply offered it to us for that purpose.

Great analysis. There's rarely a Jacob track that doesn't give me goose bumps (or brings me to tears in sheer awe), but his apparent mission in uniting the world with music is profound, and he's the best diplomat for cultivating common understanding through creativity, and it really shows in this performance.

I love the way Jacob uses key changes to brighten or darken the mood of a song and some of his unconventional chord choices keep the listener off balance in a good way.

what i love the most about all the reactions to this song that ive seen is when it gets to the ending and jacob is directing everyone. everyone watching shuts up. you can see in all the reactors faces what we all feel and its our soul listening. its not the guitar that captivates us. its not the lyrics. its the people. its almost like we as humans, for just a second, care more about the voices of others than anything else. and i love that.

I went to Jacob's concert in San Francisco last night. What an amazing experience to be part of one of his "audience choirs". He doesn't just guide you to the pitches. He also guides you to shape the vowels. We started on an "oooo", but at various points he had us shift to "ah" and "eee" and so on. I know he's done this a lot so he's figured out what works well for directing people, but even for a non-singer like me it was obvious what he wanted. Honestly makes me want to get better at singing.

I just subscribed to your channel. Such a genuine and knowledgeable reaction/analysis of this beautiful human being, who is of course a musical genius...but I believe he is a healer as well. Its like he showers us with universal harmonic beauty that washes over us. Endorphins flow, shivers and goosepimples happen and tears well up and flow...everytime. He creates a sonic cathedral of hope. ❤

I have seen him twice live, once was at the BBC in Glasgow doing his one man band and then again a few years ago with the full band and it's just an incredible experience. I call it the Church of Collier - I am not religious but it was quite the shared spiritual experience in the room.

It’s intriguing that I was aware of the recorded version of this song in single form, but in this performance it utterly transcends to a very different level. Performed live like this it’s impossible not to feel swelling and dipping emotions that don’t happen with the studio version. It’s utterly beautiful and your explanation and reaction to it mirror my own. Thank you for taking the time to do this and with as little invasion as possible still flows.

I've watched the original and reactions about 30 times and i still get shivers. The shimmery natural reverb and echo is so enveloping. When the choir comes in, i just want to be in the room and feeling that energy.
It wasn't until earlier today i realized he was playing a 5 string guitar

Following Jacob for some years now, saw him before the pandemic in Cologne, love most of his work. Lately I am enjoying a broad variety of reaction videos about him. Two reasons: First, different professionals or just music lovers, ready to expose themselves while listening to Jacob are giving me new insights, help me to understand depth in his music I obviously can not comprehend, given my personal background, which is just mine. And each person reacting is broadening my vision of his music. And it’s hard to stop being surprised about the variety of things ppl read in his music. It’s like his music actually has a quite universal language to it.
And then there is a second reason. Sometimes I discover someone with proper character and own music, and that’s the case here. I just check out some of your songs on Spotify and honestly, I knew one already and the rest is even more interesting! So, thx for sharing your ideas and more over for being such an impressing musician yourself and sharing your talent and hard work!

It's so good that you mentioned Benjamin Britten in your analysis of this genius, young composer/conductor/singer/musician. When we were rehearsing for the premier of War Requiem in '62, our young ears were hearing strange, yet amazing chords and progressions. Aaron Copeland did some unusual stuff for voice too. Collier's simple conducting style reminds me so much of Copeland and Willcocks. Do you agree?

I don't know if this is your first time just hearing this song or your first time hearing Jacob Collier. If you're not familiar with Jacob, look up a fairly recent BBC documentary on him called "In The Room Where it Happens" (it should be available on TH-cam). It gives an excellent introduction and overview of his AMAZING career so far. Simply put, Jacob's talent in all aspects of music if OFF THE CHARTS. Quincy Jones has said, “I have never in my life seen a talent like this.”
[EDIT: By the way, if anyone is thinking, "Did you even watch the video? Beth says she is very familiar with Jacob in the video." I wrote the comment before the video was available to watch after I saw in the Community tab that it was coming.]

I don't believe the song was originally sung by Carlile, he just had her guest appear to sing it with him. It is Jacob's song if I'm not mistaken.

I know that both Brandy Carlisle and Collier attend Joni Mitchell's jam sessions and are influenced by her. I can't help but wonder if this may have some connection to Joni's 'Little Green' off her album 'Blue' which is also full of key changes and carries a soul-shattering story of her giving her baby up in secrecy. Even the chorus starts off the same, at 'Little Blue'.

I can't even imagine a room full of instruments that you can pick up, sit down at, or blow and you are proficient with all. So let's try the voice... Not bad! I'm not religious, but hearing him for the first time must be otherworldly, especially if you're playing with pots and pans. Beautiful!
