Michelle. The fact I don't have to wait till Friday for this new series is just amazing I'm so I'm love with it and I love watching your journey back into the classroom! Thank you Michelle!! ❤️
I am so excited about your journey! I started watching your older videos again. You have grown into one amazing individual, I bet your family is so proud of your accomplishments. I also want to take the time to acknowledge Billy and his fabulous personality. They way he supports you is heartwarming. Thank you Billy for being Michelle's loving and caring husband. Happy lifting and hoping you gain an amazing home office❤
Happy Saturday, Michelle! I love how you took on the challenge of preparing for the test and getting it finished. I understand what you mean about completing items as soon as possible because you know you're going to get even busier in the future. It sounds like you prepared the best you could, and I hope the results were what you were hoping for. I'm excited to hear about how your conference went, too. Thanks for keeping us updated on your journey. Thanks for all you do! 💜
Many states require some sort of ESL certfication. In CA so many students are 2nd or 3rd language learners of English so now the certification is included in all Multiple Subject Credentials. So you no longer have to take a test. You take courses. Of course there are some questions when they take the certification tests. I don't even know how many tests it is now. CA has revamped their testing so much since I got my credential. I think even secondary teachers have to have ESL courses included in their credential program. You are an inspiration to this veteran teacher. I guess I'm going to need to learn Fig Jam. We've been doing all Google stuff. I haven't even learned all of that. Don't plan to either. I just use what works for me but I definitely had to step up my technology game during the pandemic. It was a good thing. Welcome back to the classroom and have a great year.
I’m also one that schedules the test and takes it as soon as possible. Most of the time it works out. If not, it’s a learning experience that helps prepare you for next time. We go back August 5th. I love my summer but I’m always waiting to go back. I spend 1-2 hours a day lesson planning for the year so that when we start back I can just edit my plans instead of creating them. I also plan to start going to my classroom once a week starting the first week of July so that I’m ready when we start back. I’m the weirdo that actually finds setting up super fun. Sorry this is crazy long but I’m excited to watch you return to the classroom.
Billy is a great trooper, he does deserve the nice bigger space. So , I know being as thoughtful as you are Michelle you will work with him. I am so happy for you Michell. I wish you the best 2024-2025 school year ever! Thanks as always for the freebies You amazing admirer, Winifred
Michelle I always enjoy your videos. I teach in Houston TX. The ESL information was helpful. I'm looking forward to seeing how you set up your new classroom. Congratulations and you got this. You are going to have an amazing school year.
It's awesome that you are going back to teaching. You are young, energetic, enjoy tech and all the things. Kids will be fortunate to be in your classroom. I'm glad that you have an A+ 4th grade team to work with. That makes all the difference! Fun times!
I was going to ask what Billy thought about you going back! Going back to the crazy of teaching after working at home for several years is a big adjustment, I can tell you from experience
I remember taking the Texas teacher certification tests!! I was so nervous and I also tallied up the questions I wasn't sure on, to see if I would pass! I had to take the bilingual education test and had to write, and speak in Spanish right there in the testing center 🙈🙈 I also crammed the guides they sell on Amazon and they dp help a great deal! Good Luck 🍀
Team Billy here. I think you should totally give him the bigger office space. You two look so fit and healthy! Best wishes to Billy and Ember as they adjust to mama being back at work out of the house ❤
I am so glad I found you on TH-cam! I am aiming to work in Texas as a Math teacher and I have learned a lot from your vids that I have watched so far. Good luck on your exam results!
I'm glad you get your results that quickly. When I took my licensure exams (Praxis) for Indiana. It was a at least a 3 week wait for any of the results to come back. There isn't an easy way to know whether you passed or not. I took all 3 of mine in about a 6 week period. I. got lucky and passed them all on the first attempt. I am loving this series, I feel like I can walk right along side of you as I am going into a 4th grade position - however this will be my first teaching job ever after 7 years as support staff (building substitute and paraprofessional).
Congrats on new school .. so happy all is well with you and Billy and you are happy going back to teaching ! Ember looks so happy with treats ! How are the 2 cats doing ? Do they love watching the dog play ? Etc .. good luck on test ! I too am starting a new job with a multi age classroom and have to take training classes. So happy for you and your family.
Very encouraging seeing how youre preparing to go back to thw classroom. Its been interesting seeing your career doing professional development and also being a teacher too. Thanks for sharing 😌
Welcome to testing in TEXAS. I had the same experience when I started my ESL exam. It took maybe 15-20 questions before my brain warmed up. I went back through the entire test and most of the questions I blanked on made more sense. I loved the realness of this video ❤.
I am 💯 Confident that you passed that test! I’m really loving this series! By the way I vote for you keeping the bigger workspace. After all you do have two jobs and your own business! Just sayin’. I love Chuy’s! Were you able to fit that into your no spend month budget? Knowing you I’m sure you did! Have a great week! Until next time!
I'm excited we will both be teaching in Texas this year. I've been a para for a number of years and taught 3rd Grade GT science for almost a year one year, but this will be first time to have my own classroom (Life Skills Special Ed). I look forward to when you post because it's "good stuff" that I can adjust and now we are both in Texas!
I’m excited to see future videos. This will be my first year departmentalizing in 5th grade with 3 blocks. I will be teaching science and writing. Still trying to think of a good system for their supplies/ turning in work.
I've bought that book and sold it twice without ever taking the test. I need to take the test this school year. Did the online test with the code help? I would turn a bedroom into an office since that is important for both of your income and productivity. Surprise Billy with a cool room makeover before school starts. You are going to live teaching again, but be tired the first couple of months. Take couple time to navigate through this year. The additional income is always a plus since everything has gone up. We are excited for you.
I used the same book for my ESL cert, and I feel it was set up for my style of learning. I would always get worked up before the tests, so I scheduled them for later in the morning/early afternoon because I knew I wouldn't sleep the night before. I also would take the ear plugs they offered because sitting in that testing room was just too quiet for me to focus. Fingers crossed for you!
Hi Billy! You should have the deluxe work space and if you want to video- yes, great, please! 😊 Michelle, give Billy your workspace! 😂 ❤PS I overthink everything too. You’re doing great though!
AHHHHH I've been waiting for this one for a while! I'm not a teacher (I'm a high school student 😅) but the way you organize things is so satisfying to me!
Just want to affirm that this was super relevant for me. A few weeks ago I decided to pursue teaching through an alternative certification program here in Michigan. The day you took your test (June 21, also my birthday!) was the day I pulled the lever and registered for my exams (I'm doing upper elementary, which consists of 4 separate subtests 😅). My M.Ed. and sociology background made me fairly confident with the foundational elements but I was immediately taken back to my test-taking anxiety from my school days. I am older now and more confident in what I know and how I approach assessments, and have spent the last week preparing for my exams, which are in 2 days(!!). Whatever the outcome of your exam, it's reassuring that you are learning and sticking with what works (doing it now instead of later and accepting the outcomes). Cheers!
oh, ALSO .... 1) The Office is my jam, and I love all of the clips you integrate into your videos. 2) in an earlier video of yours that I watched, you mentioned your sense of humor and sarcasm and why you decided to teach older elementary students instead of younger ones -- same, same for me -- sarcasm is my second language, for better or worse.
Michelle, 19:13 - 19:23 Welcome to the world of little ole' autistic me. You don't quit until you get something done .... correctly and sometimes, we can only be so correct. Hang in there. - Dwight
I mean Billytube would be great! Just image all the stuff he could show us with Ember! And what he does for work. 10/10 would watch. Also I love that you are going back into teaching. I know you do not speak on political views and with the current political landscape what it is it’s nice to know that someone is in the classroom with those kids doing the best thing for them and trying to make it fun.
I'll be waiting. Hope you're doing okay mentally while you wait. I'm glad you'll have something to do in the meantime. You're inspiring me to get back to studying for my state licensure exam. I have one left. But this makes me glad that I took a professor's advice and took the other three classes after I did the one she taught so I could get my TOEFL certificate.
I got my results this past Tuesday so stay tuned for the next vlog where I share! But thank you very much and I’m so happy to hear that… best of luck to you! 🥰🖤🎉
@@PocketfulofPrimary thank you! Looking forward to the video! Hugs to you and Billy. Glad he seemed more at ease being on camera now and so supportive of you. I figured he would be. He seems pretty awesome.

I don’t think you quite understood. Ember does stay at home, but she is very high energy and needs time outside to play and run around. Are you gonna try to leave school at school?
Good luck on the exam. We can all relate even if we don’t take exams in TX.
I used the same ESL test book, it was hellpful. I had to continuously think perfect world while I answer questions. .
What website did you go to to register for the exam? I have to take mine as well. 😊
