    Hi Ben, thanks for sharing your tips to toy photography. I want to ask about the miniature lights you used, what is it called, it seems like it comes with different accessories? Are they expensive? More power.

    Hi Ben, a great video. I think maybe with the Aston Martin you can see under the car the photo is not so real...some lights from studio.What do you think? Congratulations again, Alberto

    • @Adaptalux
      @Adaptalux  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Alberto. I think next time I will use some flour or sugar to add some snow to the ground in photos where it is more visible. There's a lot more that can be done to make scenes like this more realistic but I'll cover things like scenery in a future video.

    Another outstanding video, Ben.
    I have helped a good friend that has quite an extensive collection of cars for this sort of photography. (he predominately uses outdoor forced perspective style)
    One thing we learned was to 'scruff up' the tread area of the tires to help with realism. Also **IF** the wheels can be turned (some can; some cannot) it helps to do so.
    Great job on all of them but I really loved how you added the snow for the Astin Martin! Nice touch.
    Keep up the great work, fella!

    • @Adaptalux
      @Adaptalux  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Randy, there's so many little things you can do to add extra realism! The mustang wheels did turn, but they are spring loaded to return to the centre. I did jam some paper in the back wheel but it didn't last long. Scuffing up the tires is a great idea! I'll probably try that next time when I do some action shots and possibly more elaborate sets.

    Nice video, learned a lot. Can advise or feature nxt time, smaller scale 1:64s like for HotWheels size? As those are mostly my collections and not as detailed as your bigger scale diecast cars used in this vid.

    Why is the best resolution I can get on this video 144p? Just saying it makes it difficult to see the realisticness of what you're trying to show here. Still a helpful video from listening to your suggestions tho so thank you!!

    • @Adaptalux
      @Adaptalux  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's uploaded at 1080p, if you're only getting offered 144p it's something to do with your TH-cam player or connection. Seems fine on our end!

    Hi Ben, I love the work you are doing on macro and I’m slowly working my way through them. I like your level of detail and the clarity you bring.
    I have one suggestion, in quite a few of the videos we don’t get to see the final image. We seem to be getting a ‘rolling view’ of the shot rather than a finished still image. I think if you were to consider putting the still images on screen for a few moments at the end it would be a massive improvement and might be well received - it would by me.
    Love the model car photography and the Mustang really pops!
    Lastly, you mentioned an instructional video on focus stacking - I can’t find it, could I have the link please?

    • @Adaptalux
      @Adaptalux  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Steve, Really appreciate the feedback, I might start putting some still images into the videos, but often they don't quite fit the 16:9 video format so a little movement is needed. There's always a blog post with all the stills and a written description too, you can find it linked in the description to go and have a look at the final images.
      The focus stacking vid is here - th-cam.com/video/I3lAy5eS868/w-d-xo.html

    • @Adaptalux
      @Adaptalux  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There's something to be said for building a diorama but you have to remember you're only going to see it from a single direction, so it might not have to be as complex as you think!

    The shut lines and the wheels give it away as a toy. Model selection is essential, as well as scale and detail, and some post-processing is necessary. If done right scale model cars can be used on magazine covers: th-cam.com/video/nd-SARsbNNE/w-d-xo.html
