    You can either take the pictures on the ground or a custom platform which is hard to find or make

    Optical illusion worked in the beginning, but not in the grass, even when you are at the same level as the grass... I`m curious why you have the ISO so high? Would it not make sense to have the lowest possible ISO, while shooting against the sunrise? Great location for landscape :)

    This is my newest idea for a project. Taking miniatures and putting them in front of great landscapes. I didn't even know there was a name for it. Thanks for all the tips.

    Wonderful ! Your shot at 3:46 is extremely beautiful with the light showing through the windows of the van. It gives extreme realism along with the wet beach (rock) as you stated in your tutorial. Thank you! Your are an expert photographer and teacher. Cheers Louise !

    Great video, very educational. Can you please tell mem what's the scale on that van? Im going to buy one online, but they come in sclaes and it's hard to see it's real size on a screen. Thank you!

    • @mattbates481
      @mattbates481 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like 1/32 scale but I wouldn't get hung up on scales too much as its all about shooting distance. My garden railway is 1/22.5 and I use 1/24 scale vehicles. All about distance and lighting. Experiment.... There are no limits!

    You also need the proper background and foreground to pull that off, those all looked like a toy on the grass

      Hi Geoff, thanks for your comment! As I was using such a shallow DOF in great light I felt I was better off working handheld :) - Louise

    • @geoffchalcraft9432
      @geoffchalcraft9432 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      OK, thanks..... but I still think a bean bag keeps the camera steady when it's on the ground - with the use of the flip-out LCD (if it had one)

  • @ramadaxl

    Are you afraid of flash? How are u going to expose for the sky and casually say ur going to fix the cars exposure in PS? Thats stupid cuz you are just gonna introduce noise if u just add flash or bouce light back to the toy you could have a much more dynamic image and really accentuate bothe the toy and the background

  • @TruthAndMoreTruth

    A 20mm full frame lens is about a the equivalent of a 12mm focal length in a crop sensor camera.

    Re-name video to "how to shoot landscape and watch sunsets in England". Except from two quick seconds showing the actual car that was shot, this video has nothing to do with toys or models.

      A few of the shots give away that it’s a toy, and then there’s the fatuous comment about the van looking as it’s off for a sense of adventure, how this conclusion is reached isn’t clear. It’s just wishy washy pretentious bullshit talk.

    At the risk of appearing rude, the real, the pertinent information could have been delivered in a fraction of the time. Do yourself and your audience a favor, get in and get out as quickly as possible. People are looking for information. Respect their time and they will respect you. Chances are your subs will increase as well.
