Does the 1/2" version of Rojo Compact valve come with NPT threads on the tail? Or does it come with BSP threads? I'm looking at the product on Amazon, and it's not clear. Please advise.

Hello the 1/2"Rojo Compact will actually fit both NPT and BSP threads because they both have the same pitch (threads per inch)

I purchased the 1/2" Rojo Compact on Amazon and tested the tail fitting. Unfortunately, the model I received uses BSP threads, which do not form a tight seal with a NPT female coupling under pressure. The threads might deform with tightening and teflon tape helps, but I'm not going to risk installing a product that may leak at a later date because I tried to force a connection between two different thread forms. I would like to use the valve - can I buy a separate 1/2" tail with NPT threads somewhere? Please advise.

The 1/2" thread only comes in one form so there is no dedicated NPT option. We have found it to work well with BSP and NPT threads so I'm sorry that it's been a problem for you. The Rojo with a 3/4" thread has a dedicated NPT thread. If you purchase the valve in the USA it will certainly have the NPT thread on it. The 3/4" tail is interchangeable with the 1/2" tail. I can arrange to get a 3/4" tail sent to you. Just tell me your address on the "Contact Us" section of our website www.jobevalves.com You would need to use a reducing fitting to connect it to your 1/2" pipe but the thread form will suit your fittings. I hope this will sort out your problem.

Could it be used in a toilet tank also

Hi Jamil, yes it can be used in a toilet tank. The main issue is connecting the float so it doesn't hit the flush mechanism. To do this you may need some extension arms which aren't supplied with the valve. Extension arms can be purchased separately.
