Joe Bonamassa is a living blues guitar master who should be a legend in the USA, but isn't......except he is amongst the guitarists and blues / rock music industry. First played live on stage with B B King as a 12 yo. By the age of 14, B B hired him as his own opening act and audience warmer. Joe owns his own recording label, publishes his own music, owns his own recording studio complete with house band, has his own touring band and doesn't need the gangsters of the music industry........hence he is shunned by most US radio stations, which is why most Americans don't know him. Jimmy's daughter Mahalia Barnes was a long time backing vocalist for Joe, especially with his touring band......and although Joe does most of his own singing, he did let Mahalia take lead on many songs, as well as performing with many great vocalists, such as Beth Heart and Jimmy.
