My biggest pet peeve with Kayla is how she’ll have a great idea/vision and quickly shut it down and talk negative 😭
Bless her, she still doesn't always trust her own instincts - as to what she can make look good, and what she can make entertaining. And here we all are ready to follow her on whatever flight of fancy she wants to go on! All we can do is keep encouraging, and supporting, I didn't have a 10th of her confidence at her age, heck I don't have a 20th of her confidence now!

i wish she would trust herself with her ideas! i thought it would’ve been great for her to take some space from the upstairs to open up the ceiling above the stairs - it would’ve look much more grand and “luxe”

you shouldn't apologize for using packs in your builds.....they are available to everyone and you own them so you should use what you have to enhance your game. that's what they are there for! it's not like its CC where many people might not have the ability to search and download. keep up the great work (and keep using your game add-ons for builds!)
I would argue the opposite since cc is free and packs aren't
So I’m like 7 months late, but the reason she does this is not everyone can afford any of the pack. The base game is completely free to play, and a lot of the packs and kits are really expensive.
The moment we saw the second inspo house we knew that that the first was never going to happen 😅😅
Its also great to see that you didnt limit yourself in packs. There are a lot of us who have many packs and its nice to see you be inclusive to more simmers who appreciate the many styles the different packs provide together.
Idk, even though it's tagged as modern. I can see these items in a traditional home as well? This pack is so versatile like I can see the dining room chairs in more of that minimal interior design and the curtains as well!
Next build with this kit we need a full size walk in closet with the laundry inside and tables and sitting area. Now that'll be lux

LilSimsie not following her own build advice. Pulling the back of the house out by one tile would have solved all the spatial issues & allowed for the open stairwell because that house ABSOLUTELY would have an open stairwell.
i got so frustrated that she kept repeating that the house is too small... bestie you can easily change that aaa :D maybe bc she didnt have time? but like 2 more tiles..

If she makes a house small. Why don't she make it bigger to her liking. So it can be a decent size home and fit stuff in it better. Wish she made this house bigger cause she is on a bigger lot. Cause I always do when I make a house I always make it fit side to side and then make it a little bit bigger in the back but I always have a yard and back yard left.
She has said in a couple videos that it makes it easier to design than if there is large empty-esque rooms.
I’m glad you know that floor tile is for ceilings! (They’re called coffered or box beam ceilings for those curious.) I wrote a long comment about it on the review video but felt insecure and deleted it 😅

Simsie painting the walls before doing anything else inside legitimately jump scared me, lol. In general I'm not a huge fan of modern style, but this kit is really nice and could totally blend in with multiple styles. The build turned out so cute!
Simsie thinks $83K is alot I'm currently building a house in the Sims 4 that isn't done yet but currently $350K, the dinning room alone has seating for 51 Sims

Kayla said she didn't know much about 'modern luxe' style, but I'm very much a 'modern luxe' gal,(in a modern luxe style room right now...) and Kayla nailed it! I love this build! I understand that Kayla wasn't doing a giant mansion, which is realistic where I come from, a giant mansion in this style, but rather a very expensive, but small modern luxe style house, which is also realistic. Also, a round pool (can be made by using columns, the marble ones would've been good) could've been more realistic, but it takes a lot of time and effort. Overall, Simsie made a fantastic and realistically styled build!
So glad I have Simsie videos I get really depressed around winter and autumn seasons so this helps and with college on top
Homes of fine taste don't have clutter, they have dressings, so I was once told by a painfully snobbish, but actually very kind, and decent acquaintance. This was going back before the glut of renovation/house-flipping TV shows, before there was such a thing as Pinterest, before TH-cam, I think Grand Designs was new, I'm pretty sure that's what we had been talking about, I'd never heard of "dressing" a room, and found it quite amusing. But I am an unsophisticated old curmudgeon, whose only home renovation dream is to switch to a two-way heat pump so that we can have air con on flipping hot days like today! Anyway, not really of interest to anyone but me merrily reminiscing, just hearing Kayla talk about clutter in a gold-accented room, just made me smile.

I love this house. I really like this Modern Luxe kit. I definitely will be getting that. The decor looks so elegant. Usually the decor in the kits aren't that great but I really like this one.

I was kind of bummed by this one. I love the style, I think I’ll be using a lot of it pretty regularly, but my god where’s the rest of it? Where’s my dinette set? Where’s my couch? Where’s my floor lamp? A square/rectangle rug? So much stuff seems to be missing. I get they have to keep the kits small to make financial sense but this just feels.. idk, incomplete

Kayla, change the time of day you're building, I beg you. When you had to change the pillar color, my first thought was you have it set on evening lighting - set to daytime. I build on that lot all the time and it has great daytime lighting, so building with evening or night time lighting will mess up your color palette. If you want pretty screen shots, just change the lighting when you're done.
Other than that, I echo your sentiment on wanting cars/garages, I build them all the time as wishful thinking. My favorite thing to add though are gazebos - they are great for filling backyard space, plus I put books or an easel out there for a nice relaxing environment.

for anyone that wants a frame tv i recommend harrie and felix livin’ rum, it’s free and the actual tv is honestly one of the best cc tvs out there

I really like this house but...am I the only one who wished Kayla would have just made it bigger? She makes everything smaller all the time, but doesn't make stuff bigger when she miscalculated. This house was not on a budget, there was more than enough space on the lot left and there just really wasn't any reason not to rethink and make it bigger.
I can already see the sims glitching through the walls and furniture or walking outside because there is just not enough space inside the house.
Can u make a family mansion but try to only use family packs 😂 and make it 5-8 bedrooms

Build the walls first, then add the roof, and then delete just the walls! 😅 Hopefully that works
