I've started coming into some PD coin so bought the Genesis X because it helped me get bronze on Panorama, which was proving difficult. Now the thirst is building for silver.
Still 7 days left to get that silver.
Just need to push up close to those walls and carry lots of speed up and down the mountain.
Been practicing this all week for gtc in atenza gr4 best time on softs 2:12:7..

Not my fav track by a long shot , got well inside gold after a few laps though , my tips , need solid exit turn 1 , 6 and 7 through tricky top part of mountain is a matter of throttle control to avoid clipping wall . But most important corner imo is last corner dropping down the hill before 2 long straights , you need to get hard on power exit as so much time to be gained
I completely agree with your notes. Have to be right on the edge to get a quick time.

I got to a mid 2:04 but struggling to get lower on the mountain. I'm struggling to stay flat out on the late uphill and avoid the barriers. Will keep at it.
That’s probably the toughest thing to do. Sometimes you need to actively push and hit the barriers a few times just to see how close you can actually get. Still plenty of time left on this challenge so I wish you the very best of luck 👍🏼
Mt. Panorama isn't really where I am good at, in particular the walled sectors up and down hill. In fact, I got gold for this CE long after I did the one for Nurburgring North. Therefore, I initially only target to get within top 10% ranking as I usually do nowadays.
To complicate matters, I started out with the Nismo 2018, which is my default car for Gr.3 when most others will be using the Supra to set their best time. So without much thinking, I expected to be setting my best time on a car most people wouldn't use as well, but it turns out I am best using the Genesis X as well for this TT, and I still don't understand why.
After 2 days of running, I eventually grasp the key to the hilly bit and set a low 2:01 and provisional gold within top 4% right now. Not sure whether this will remain gold till the end but I must say it is the most comfortable run of the track I ever had, and more so when it's not a car that the Saudi player can exploit the downshifting on.
Low 2.01 is very good mate. This isn’t a circuit i excel at and I’m still 2 seconds off the overall fastest lap.
I lose all my time on the mountain itself, everywhere else I’m ok. Just need to find a way to dance up and down the hill better.
I hadn’t really driven the Genesis but it’s quite a cool car. You still have to be decent on the throttle though as it’s really easy to light the rear tyres up.
I do prefer the TT with GR cars rather than road cars but I suppose it would be boring without that challenge.

The downhill is so crazy with speed …🤯🥳
I think the last part of the uphill section and the downhill section is where I lose all my time. Need to figure out a way to carry more speed on the downhill slalom section 😂
So far ive managed a 201.8 using the genesis. Im on controller using auto trans. Question for ya!! How much time you think using a manual would save on an average lap time? I need to keep pushing. Gold is now 201.6 nice video guide
It’s tough to say how much time you would gain but it would 100% give you more co trip of the car and the ability to use the gearing to your advantage can be the difference between silver and gold.
I would estimate at least 0.5 seconds but probably more if you perfected the art of upshifting and downshifting. Unfortunately it’s not as simple as just shifting up and shifting down. You have to do it in the right way to manipulate the car.
I might do a video on this in the future if there is enough interest.

You should definitely do a video on this topic. I've tried a few times to manually shift but on controller was to much going on to feel comfortable unless like you said to perfect the art. It will be so much easier with a wheel and pedal setup. Until my order arrives which could be months 😂 (if you know you know) I will definitely move away from auto trans and hopefully perfect the art you speak of. Thanks

Is there a difference between owning it and using the rental beaides detuning?
On these BOP time trial challenges it doesn’t make a difference if you own or rent other than being able to add a livery if you owned it.
Personally I like to buy the car if possible and take it for a spin round Nordschleife first to get used to it but that’s just me.
Same procedure as last week? Same procedure as every week! I'm currently less than 1s behind your time. I'm slowly getting to the point where I'm no longer making obvious mistakes, but it's a few tenths here or there and I think I've reached a point where I'm not getting much faster anymore unless I invest a lot more time, which I don't have. PS: The bars are perfectly visible - thank you very much!
Thought you would like the new paint job. Might go for a dark colour on the bonnet every week now.
That’s the issue for most of us I think, lack of time to practice actual driving technique.
I only just get enough time to do the TT and make the video and that’s about it until next Thursday.
